@ theunknown04, they should have sorted out the GPRS issue not sure about the video/camera problems other people have been reporting. Problem is you can only flash to R1L via da vinci right now.

I've never used Da Vinci b/c I always buy my phones already unlocked and this is the first phone (k750) I've flashed the firmware on myself. Plus Da Vinci isn't free. Lots of other people have used it though.

well I thought I might have a play and try davinci since I've not tried any of these since the days of terminator dongles
its all gone through fine and I have R1L002 but a couple of things to note
my CDA has changed although I still have EUROPE_3 with the same languages and also all contents of the phone were wiped which doesn't happen with SEUS
busy synching at the mo so will start taking a look at any changes I can spot later

camera software is still version 4.4
therefore I doubt theres any changes in the camera department
this firmware propably only deals with the gprs problem.

Before you all go and flash your phones with this firmware at DaVinci, please write down all info from the phone that is possible to change in the "CDA" tab of the client. Then enter all that info manually into the fields of this tab and check "Use This Settings for Finalization". If you do, then it's possible to keep using SEUS afterwards. Also add an "i" after K750 in the same tab. If you need to leave your phone for service (during warranty) then it's harder for the service center to see that you have flashed your phone using this service.

You lost all your info because DaVinci doesn't actually update the firmware - it reflashes the phone from scratch!
Question: Is the "PlayNow" icon still there after flashing with R1L (EU4 is not available, so I can't flash myself with this revision)?

fortunately, just after I posted, I remembered seeing that CDA tab in the flashing utility so went back and guessed that was the problem so reflashed again with the correct values and all was well. unfortuately the davinci K750 flashing manual (if you can call it that) didnt mention this.

mine lost the playnow icon too and now just says homepage for the first icon

I went from EU_3 to EU_2 and PlayNow™ is replaced by the homepage shortcut, which I promptly changed to Esato, "Call Voicemail" is now replaced by "My Friends" in Messaging, the camera makes no sound in silent mode.

Apologies if this has been mentioned in this thread earlier but I have only read first few pages and last few pages.
I have just received an O2 K750i after a 2 week wait while they get their new stock in, only to find it has frozen on me twice in first day (alarm didnt go off this morning so I was late for work because of it!).
Reading this thread I have found I have original firmware so rang SE to see if the latest firmware on their website would fix this and was told that the fix will be released in the next week or two but they are taking people's names and email addresses and will contact us when it is ready.

there is still a problem with some contacts showing as "no name"
these are ones that don't have the "full name" field in out looked filled.
for me this means ones where I have filled the company name only and didnt fill the "full name" field even though the "file as" field has a value
I usually just go through and set the "full name" field to be the same as the company name field if I don't have a personal name to attach to the company and that solves the problem

SE havent heard anything about R1L - no new firmware is available. He also said SE will be first to get it. So I asked why Da Vinci have it already. Guess what...

Do you expect every SE employee to be aware of everything that's going on? Ppl that work at client's support don't know "anything" about what the devloppers/engineers are doing most of the time.
Very often, when I call a support, I know much more about the product than the guy I'm talking to and who's supposed to help me...
Of course SE are aware of the problems and are trying to fix it asap!!!

Why doesn't the latest fw screw up all k750i sim free unbranded models though with 02 mms/gprs ?
I have 4 x k750i here all with the same firmware and all sim free models ,two work fine with 02 mms and gprs and the other two just won't work?
2 x that don't work are week 22 & 23
2 x that work are week 20 and 24

O2 replacement handset received today
Week 20 phone with R1A044. Still at least the GPRS / MMS work
I'm going to wait until FW released then watch for comments here
Then I'll wait a while to let things settle down before updating R1A as I wish I had never bothered. At least the FW crash had a work around.

Hi i got my new phone yesterday and it's the R1A044 o2 Uk
And the only issue so far is that it freezes when i play the picture game and only when i try and take a picture to mix up. The screen goes white and can do nothing for 1/2 mins.
I've read a few pages here but havent come across this, has anyone else had this problem?
Also is this the latest Sw?

Been playing around with R1L002 for a day now. I can't find any improvements or changes beyond a patch for the GPRS issue introduced in R1J (which didn't affect me anyway).
I'm still glad I used Da Vinci as I've now unbranded my handset and changed the CDA so it'll work with SEUS in future without rebranding.
However, I wouldn't recommend that anyone with R1A updates at all unless they have the standby-freeze bug. There are no real advantages in doing so and in fact, your video recording quality will suffer.
What I'm really hoping for is a much improved Bluetooth implementation in the next firmware - it's still a bit flaky with certain headsets and car kits.
In short, if you've got R1A and do not have the standby freeze, you're probably best not updating just yet.

I experienced my first crash last night, with the firmware R1L, having had R1J and R1A previous to that. It was nothing major, just as I was exiting the media player the screen went white, then off for a couple of seconds, then white, then off for a couple of seconds, then white, then off for a couple of seconds
and then settled on the main screen, displaying "Emerg. calls only" before picking up a signal again.
No problems since and gprs works again so no complaints really, but R1A was working just fine for me, but at least I have got rid of the O2 customisations.

Updated my f/w to R1J, but still not yet satisfied with media player volume. it's still low. everything else is fine. standby crash has gone. Gprs works fine.
