I have never seen an opinion about R1DB001 for W700 firmware.....is it better ??? than K750 version.....
I have a W700 with R1CA021 firmware and I want to upgrade to R1DB001 and I some guys said that there lots of differnces between R1DB001 for K750 and the one for W700....
Also I don't have LCD sw version on my phone ....if I upgrade the phone I will have that feature??

You just have to try updating your phone and SEUS will tell you if there are any new avaible firmware....
I am trying to update with SEUS my W700 but it won't work.....I have R1CA021 and want ot upgrade to R1DB001 but SEUS says there are no updates avaible...even though R1DB001 is the latest firmware for my W700.....Any ideea why isn't it working?? What am I doing wrong??

I recently sent an email to SE asking them if they could remove the SMS alert limit of 10 seconds and also to make the phone vibrate more than once when you receive an SMS when using a custom SMS alert.

So there you are, the k750 is officially dead. Please add this info to the original poster OP.
From my experience of SE phones you will always have problems like this.
They are very proprietary / right wing and closed source regarding software and firmware and this damages the usefulness of the phones whether you know about this or not because:
- bugs are more likely
- the phone doesn't get updated and so has a shorter life so a waste of money. It's a killer in the longer term
- lack of freedom with your phone
Example: we still have bugs and SE will never fix them. This will happen to your next phone too.
This sort of thing effects all phones in this horribly anal market, but most pronounced with SE.
There are plenty of programmers out there who could fix all these bugs if SE would let them but they won't because this way they sell more phones. Only what we should know is that the same sort of thing effects the next phone you get.
The answer: be a smart consumer and don't buy SE phones. It's just a shame that on face value they are the best. I will investigate Nokia now, and with any luck Linux on phones.

The improvements are always found in the next generation phone. It's normal that a phone is never bug-free. As long as the bugs are not major, the phone is considered perfect. So, no need to discuss further as no more f/w is released. Wow, what a long thread..and rather sentimental indeed, as K750i used to be a great phone in his era. Time flies this quickly..

are too quick on dropping their old models. The K750/W800 were a very popular model and they should take advantage of this and keep it at bit longer. Compare with Nokia: here in Oman you can get a brand new 6600 for USD 200, boxed with full warranty.

I've got a W800i, stuck on R1AA008 through Voda/Seus.
I need the feature on bluetooth, where you can always allow a device to have access to your phone (handsfree kit for example) My current Firmware doesn't allow this, can anyone confirm that the latest (and indeed last) does ?
to see if it's worth buying a couple of wotan credits to fix.

Hi guys! If you're tired of your "new" firmwares... Why not flash it to W800i for a change? I've done that and i'm contented right now. Walkman phones are the hit today so why not join the band wagon without spending... Btw, flashing to W800i doesn't give me the hissing problems normally found in W800i/W810i phones... Maybe because of the 1% difference in the hardware of K750i phones... So, start flashing! Hehehehe!!!

Also, I'm not very clear on the difference in W800 and K750 firmwares. Does SE release the same firmware for both handsets simultaneously and apart from the obvious differences, what if any other difference is there between the two? Since the thread says the latest firmware for the K750 is R2A044, does that mean it's the latest for the W800 as well?

You don't really need to flash your phone to W800i to get rid of the hissing, if it even does in the first place. Although I do recommend doing that since the walkman is much better.
As for the hissing.. I think back in the day when I had one... you had to modify a PHF_2_play.apf file which virtually killed all the hissing in the earphone playback.

I'm using W800i R1BC002 firmware... Converting K750i to W800i doesn't inflict the HISSING problem that most W800i ( the real one ) encountered. So you will get the best of both worlds! As for the firmware, R1BC002 i think is the most stable.... All other firmware are just to adapt the new CID49 and nothing more...

but after flashing, can you recorde voice tags for contacts?
(go to contacs> choose a contac>more>edit contact> press the joystick right 2 times> go down to the voice tag>press it)
My phone has the R1BC002 firmware and all FS replaced with that of the w800. If i try to flash my FS now the phone gives a configuration error.
Anyway, I've heard there is a battery bug with r1bc002.. Is there a patch to fix it? (I`m sorry if i'm asking a question that has been tackled befor, but the topic is 400 pg long, I can't read it all)

i think you should update your firmware to R1CA021, but not R1DB001. dont do it with SEUS, it will update to the latest(R1DB001).

Yeah. It's a shame Sony Ericsson is becoming a retarded company with retarded firmwares. Look at the new designs for their phones. The K800 was good, but it's getting ugly with the K810 and onwards.
Thankfully there is a large fanbase where enthusiasts provide hacks for their phones that make up for what some phones lack.
