I guess a firmware update is meant to take out the flaws in the software .i was having a cid 36 phone which is dead.Now i bought a new k750 but it has CID 49.Since i cannot use farmanger i tried to update it with seus.I was having R1CA001 and now its R1bd001 .
What the hell is this the sound of mp3 is so bad its like compressed.Is SE doing this deliberatly to promote their walkman phones.Now i cannot use far manager.To change the phf2_play.Now i have to wait dont know for how many decades for an update to the firmware.

Dont upgrade the firmware otherwise u will end with up some crap music player.R1CA001 is the best till know.I am very much f**kd up as i upgraded to R1BD001.
Anyone having an idea when will be next firmware upgrade would out.

I already did that and now cannot change it as its CID 49.The quality of mp3 sucks now its like compreessed music no elements of bass and treble

phf_1_play.apf and phf_play.apf , or phf2,3,etc. too? What is the "best" version,and how can i find it? The w800 version,or the older K750,or some other "modded" driver?

Having just upgraded my K750i to R1DB001, I'd like to share some rather interesting findings with you.
To start with my handset does not experience any deterioration in mp3/aac sound playback whatsoever. Be it via the media player or the file browser, quality/peak output-wise things appear to be unchanged for me.
With regards to other changes I have noticed that when in an application (calendar for example) the screen back-light now fades gradually instead of the one-off step approach that still applies while in idle-desktop mode. Can't really say if that's been implemented in the last version of the f/w only, but i didn't notice it before. Maybe someone with previous f/w can shed some light into this one.

Ohhhhh!!!!!!!! i forget it!!!!! i´m using hpm-70 headphones but the sound is too low!!!! i´m not really sure if this is because i update firmware to R1CA021, what can i do???, what do i need to convert my k750 to w800 (software of course) THANKS!!!!!!!!!!

SEUS sometimes says that u have the latest firmware, but u dont. why dont you try a third party software like far manager or davinci?
you can get some parches for this. give a look for a thread talking about that.

there is a huge fix on R1DB001 over R1CA021. I notice it myself that why i need u guys out there to comfirm this. K750i with R1CA021 firmware when taking pic with MXE-60 the background of the photo will be come green. On R1DB001 there no such problem. So guys. if nayone of u guys still using the R1CA021 pls comfirm this.

I have a question. Can I use w800.exe "hack" to change my language pack on my w800i via SEUS? I mean I have a w800i with r1aa008 CDA102425/39 EMEA_3 and I want to update to r1bc002 CDA102425/5 EUROPE_5(EU5) using SEUS. Can I just follow the K750->w800 instructions and type in the desired CDA and I'll get rid of the current language pack installed?

Ok I guess this is the best place for me to post a question..I have a k750i cid49 and now with the latest crappy firmware which ruined my sound
so this is what I want to know..If I buy a service cable (whatever I get in my city [mumbai , india] ...I will be able to access the cid49 filesystem ?? now i'm a total noob here so are there step by step guides and all that? or would i just be wasting my money....in the end all I want to do is change the audio..pimp my menu...etc etc[ This Message was edited by: adises on 2006-11-12 01:25 ]

I don't know if its a new change but its for me..after updating the firmware i'm now able to have the media player open OVER a bluetooth transfer..before it used to be I couldn't do much while transferring files over bluetooth had to use volume buttons to change tracks..but now I can start the media player and have the transfer in the background....

No, the FAR plugin only supports up to CID36. Only SEUS and third party flashing tools, which as DaVinci or Wotan, will allow you to change the firmware. You will not be able to access your file system to patch your current firmware.

Guys, I've recently upgraded my K750 to W800 and installed R1BC002 soft, but I noticed that there is another newer, R1BD001. I used W800 hack in SEUS, but it upgraded soft to R1BC002. I wanted to use GFlash, but it doesn't recognize the phone.
Any ideas?

I just noticed that im able to play eaac plus on my k750.
And i think the parametric stereo part is also being decoded as quality is really good.

Hi guys, the most current firmware from SEUS, is it ok? i have a SE K750i and my current software is R1CA021. ive had doubts since while reading lots of posts. guys complaining about upgrading. anybody have any ideas? is the latest one good, as in few or no complaints?

about the latest firmware for K750(R1DB001).. well, pretty much no major upgrade/difference from the previous firmware... if you feel you need the latest version then go for it.. if you are pretty satisfied with the current one.. stick with it

Its been about 3 months since I upgraded my K750 to R1CA. After that I have this strange problem of Java applications failing to open up with the error message 'Application Error'. Now I am not able to run most of the applications/games that worked perfectly fine before. Pls dont tell me to update my software unless there is no other option. I dont want to get stuck with a stupid media player bundled with the R1BD.

Hi girls and guys, geeks and gurus!
I am experiencing heavy Bluetooth problems with my k750i running the firmware version R1CA021.
I'd like to use the Bluetooth file transfer to load music from PC into my K750i .
Facts:
--------
- Phone has been flashed to R1CA021 to solve the USB data cable file transfer problems. The wired transfer now works fine.
- Phone has successfully transferred files (MP3, bigger sizes, some megs) to and from some other SE phones over Bluetooth.
- Phone failed to transfer files to and from any Bluetooth-equipped PCs I could put my hands on.
- The two PCs I have tried with use different BT chipsets (broadcom and IVT), both works fine with other phones each other, etc.
- I have an another K750i at hand, with firmware version R1N035, BT works fine, both directions, with PCs.
Detailed problem description:

- Sometimes I'm able to get to the point of pairing the phone with a BT eqiupped PC, but progressing to Bluetooth service discovery it seems to be getting into an infinite loop. It says "Refresing service list", the fake progress bar is being rotated, but from this point it's unresponsive, whatever time I wait, no real progress from this point on. It's getting unresponsive, stucks in this stage, only reboot (reset) helps.
The other K750i (with the R1N035 fw) works just fine in this here scenario, returns with the service list as it's supposed to do.
Impression, final toughts, opinions:

- In my opinion it must be the firmware 'cause it ain't the hardware
Would it be a HW problem, the file transfer wouldn't work between the (both SE manufactured) phones either. Well, while it works between the phones, but not between this stupid phone and the PCs. I suppose this must be a bug in the R1CA021.
If it is, then quite strange and sad. The sooner fw. version is working, the later isn't ? Did SE ever hear about pre-release SW quality testing? Do they have a checklist? How can they afford to loose functionality which worked once?
Since the didn't do any release for the K750 in the last months, I suppose they won't release any more.
As for my phone, the Sony Ericssony Update Service (SEUS) says, I have the latest (official) firmware. I know it's just the half of the truth, I could start to experiment with R1DB001 or the W800 firmware at Wotan or some other sites to upgrade. Maybe things get even worse going on these side-tracks. I do not trust SE firmware upgrade any more. Official or unofficial.
The sad thing is if it's really the latest intended and published official firmware upgrade for this model (as I see), well, then we will have to learn to live without this feature we've benn promised to have and which we've payed cash for
One way I really like this phone, especially for the good sound quality, and for it's promised feature richness. But it has some week points, too: keyboard and joystick starts becoming hard to use after only (!!) a half year of daily use. I think it's engineered this way to limit the product lifecycle period.
It was no big news for me that the earlier FW versions had bugs, so their releases bleed here and there, from several wounds.
But I find it surprising that functions which once worked start to fail in newer releases. I might be wrong, but I think, their pre-release testing team must be crap.
Questions:
---------------
- Did anybody run into similar problems?
- Did anybody solve this somehow?
- Did anybody try to downgrade in a scenario like this?
- Did anybody try the W800i upgrade, does the W800i's latest firmware behave well generally, and in terms of music playback quality and bluetooth?
- Do you think it is worth to submit this as a bug report? Will they react?
- Do you gurus out there happen have any recommendations, ideas, opinions?

Wow, it's been months since I upgraded to K800i. I miss the moments when I had K750i, then updated from R1N035, R1AA008, R1BC,R1CA021..ahh..I miss the MegaBass and the tiny size of the phone and also the bugs experience with this phone in the past..I'm happy with my K800i now..ok, guys, keep on alerted on the firmwares..as I have no more K750i, I can't fully feel all your disappointment with the latest R1DB001.
