As far as i'm aware these problems you have are not issues with R1BC or R1CA firmware, have you tried a master reset of the phone ? if you do this make sure you backup any personal stuff off the phone as it will wipe it clean !

Ok, i have the last firmware, when i record a video and close cam, The telephone does not save the file ,only save when i press stop and close the cam. With the previous versions when i close the cam the file It was saved.

i read this on some other forum .. your problem could be because the network of your phone needs to approve stability of the phone with the network hence u will have t wait and will update a bit later...

Posted by aremaboy
Just updated another K750i by using SEUS 2.6.6.11...it was a success...no problem...R1CA021 is still the latest...

Posted by govigov
i now have R1CA camera 5.3 update was fast. just took about 5 minutes.... cool

I updated my branded orange uk w800i to R1AA008 ages ago and still have no available updates. This update seemed pointless as i havn't really noticed anything good about it, is there a way to downgrade safely? The main thing i want to fix is the delay when taking photos.(although my phone does seem slower with a 1gb mem stick)

Is orange the furthest behind in firmware updates? because from what i've read, everyone seems to be updating to new firmware.

today, i saw a new thing in the R1CA, the blue triangle up to the network bars is deleted now, we can see onely the barrs, no blue triange.
i like it like that

Posted by jepherberich
blue triangle? are you referring to the GPRS coverage indicator? I dont think they'd take that out. there must have been interference in your coverage that's why you dont see it, but i doubt they'd ever take that out. in the W810 onwards, that was been replaced by a 'G' icon for GPRS and an 'E' if an EDGE network is detected

no, i'm talking about the triangle who is up the network bars,
(the net bars are trangle)+ (the blue trangle) = all make a rectangular

look, i have now two k750i in my hand, one with r1bc, and the other with r1ca, and the two have the same theme
in the r1ca one, there is no blue triange, i see onely the barrs, but with the r1bc, it exist.
again, i like it like that

Posted by jepherberich
bono.bel: i still don't get it. i vaguely remember a blue triangle up there. screenshots please-

Posted by xcss
@bono.bel:
That blue triangle on top of the signal bars is indeed the GPRS indicator. You must have deactivated your GPRS somehow and that is why the triangle is gone. SE haven't removed it.

Posted by rockygali
its located at Menu>Settings>Data Comm.>Prefered Services>
then you will have the option to GSM & GPRS or GSM only.

Posted by outcast77
I know what bono.bel is talking about. it is not the GPRS indicator. He means that the network bars apear as if they are inside a rectangle box or frame. This box is gone with the new update.

However, I'm not sure but this effect could be not because of the update but because of the theme used.

Posted by aremaboy
I don't get it...everything remains the same as previous firmware...blue triangle? That means your GPRS is active...

Posted by bono.bel
really sorry mates
now i understand,
the r1ca phone, was with non gprs sim, that's why the triangle doesn't aprear
and the r1bc one was with a sim that have gprs, and the triangle apear.

now i changed the two sims with the phones and all is changed.

so this triangle undicate the gprs? i didn't know that before!!

sorry again

Hi all

was at one of Sony Ericssonīs Service Points in Southern Sweden, they fixed my W800i Joystik and its working great.. they updated to latest firmware which is the same in SEUS right now !! No new Update avaible since many months !!

I guess they will NOT release any new Firmware for W800i unless its needed if they discover many bugs ..

Posted by O2 K750i
@night_66

What did they do to fix the joystick?

Posted by k790fan
Hi i am from Romania, and i bought a K750 from orange. It has firmware version R1AA008 and camera 4.5 .
The phone is locked on Orange, if I change the firware, i will be able to use the phone on other networks?
Do you think i should put a new firmware on it?
Thx

Posted by O2 K750i
You need to unlock the phone using Davinci or TotalMultiServer - updating the firmware via SEUS wont unlock the phone.

I prefer R1CA to R1AA but now have my K800 in the post.

Posted by k790fan
I was going to go to a professional service, I don't wanna try this at home and screw up my phone...
So updating the firmware and unlocking the phone are 2 different things?Darn it will cost me a fortune )
Thx.

Posted by night_66
They put a protection plastic wascher under the joystic and this to avoid any particles to enter there and damage it .. its something new which Service Points do now days ..

Posted by O2 K750i
@k790fan - doesnt need to cost much SEUS is free and Davinci is about Ģ5 for a credit to unlock from Orange. If worried about screw-ups then just unlock - dont bother with R1CA though I have flashed my K750, K700 and K500 countless times without errors.

@night_66 - thx, am thinking of sending my K750 for repair under warranty when the K800 arrives.

@ g-roxx0304

I had some problem with my joystick and the standby time ..

I went to the Service Point in Southern Sweden called CR Service in Åkarp .. they changed the Joystick and put a plastic or rubber washer around the joysic to avoid any dirts coming inside and effect the functionality of it (This is what the service guy told me ) .. besides they changed the battery .. and the speaker box too !!

The Firmware is the latest which is in SEUS and even at service point, its this one : R1BC002 ... So still no new F/W availble since 3 months ..

check if it has free phone memory first. atleast 1mb should be enough for safety.

i remember that when i updated my cousin's k750, the camera still had its old version. so i tried to free up some memory from the phone. the drawback was to master reset the phone. erasing all personal data.

enjoy updating

my vibration stopped working after i updated, is it working for you guys on the new firmware?

Posted by O2 K750i
test the vibration from the service menu.

access by the following sequence >*<<*<*

Posted by amro
i have. it works sometimes, sometimes it doesn't..it's annoying

Posted by aremaboy
Vibrating is more a hardware problem than software. You'd better see a technician. If it works under Service Menu, no problem then..

Posted by amro
i've worked on laptops, taken apart phones etc. no problem. was a laptop tech for a while. do you know where i could just buy the motor? my issue is that it's intermittant so i wonder if it needs to be reseated (leads are not positioned correctly)..i suppose i'll take it apart in a couple of days and find out

Hi everybody, I just got my hands on a K750i from ebay and made my way to these forums. I wanted to update my phone from the R1L002 to the newest version, but whenever I fire up SEUS, and go through the steps of updating, I get a message saying that my phone's software is up to date. Does anybody have any ideas why it isn't working?

Here is the software info from my phone:

I guess this phone originally came from Hong Kong, but I don't know if the previous owner tried using domething like DaVinci or some other program that would make it be rejected by SEUS...Does anyone have a suggestion for what I can do to update it?

Posted by aremaboy
I believe your K750 had been 'engineered' improperly before, it might be flashed by 3rd party, and failed in the middle or unlocked or debranded from Operator. Try a full master reset-you'll lose all data-and update once again. Let's see what happen..

Posted by wctkdman
Thanks for the reply. I gave the master reset a go but the flash still gave the same message...any other ideas?

Posted by aremaboy
I guess your K750 is 'brown'. Therefore, it's rejected by SEUS. You should make it 'red' by DaVinci..please, browse more in many threads here. I have updated more than 10 times via SEUS-of many K750 phones-and had no problems at all. The phones are all under trusted SE dealers, so they're always 'red'..

Posted by O2 K750i
I think you need to use Davinci to flash the firmware. I'd go for R1CA - imho the best so far. Go for Europe2 - red.

see www.davinciteam.com

When you are about it I would go for the W800 fw as it has a full media player. I suspect the W810 fw will work but not sure - can anyone help (W800 fw isnt being updated).

It's quite unlikely that the w810 will work on the w800 hardware. It may, but even if it does the main features of w810 ie: improved screen, EDGE, won't be available, nor the extra button that the w810 has.

Imho, it won't work at all for the same reason the t630 software won't run on a T610 - the t630 has a different screen design. Now the interesting thing is, the T610 can run the T630 software, but the screen is blank! I tested it, and actually took a photo which i copied to the pc with fma! But without being able to see the screen it's useless.

There are more hardware differences between the W800 and W810 than there are between T610 and T630. So even if you could use a w810 lcd I'd still be doubtful the w800 would run w810 firmware.

Can someone tell me what is the size in MB of the R1CA firmware? Got my K750 yesterday but when I did the service status, I see R1B002 at the top then EROM: R2B001. Which one is actually installed as well?

Posted by O2 K750i
@max_wedge

You're right - I thought the change must be more than just the joystick.

BTW: anyone opened their K750 - I have T6 but some instructions about how to do this would be appreciated. I want to clean out the joystick.

Posted by max_wedge
look for the k750 disassembly in the how-to section of se-nse.com

wheres R1CA021 for w800i ??????????????????????????????????????????/

Posted by max_wedge
nada.

Not released yet. R1BC perfectly fine, R1CA has no real improvements.

Posted by aremaboy
I'm doubtful that R1CA021 will be released for W800i..
