rufin_oliver,
I did indeed remove the sim card...and followed the procedure step by step, hey it's not rocket science afterall, trust me I'm doing it right...could it be that my battery was not completely charged when I first tried the uptade that triggered the issue? AFAIK it was at around 85%-ish...

Hey Martin,
It seems that you're experiencing more or less what I've been facing over the last couple of days. Bear in mind though that the software might have been improperly installed since certain categories of the software info pane appear to refer to previous versions of the firmware (at least in my case), them being the customization and the one before it, which both do not seem to reflect the updated version numbering of a proper installation. I really can't suggest much other than keep trying or perhaps pass the phone over to a local SE service point and ask them to perform an update on your behalf. At least this is the course of action I shall be following in the following days if I fail to update the phone using the SEUS II client.
regards.

Hi!
I updated to R1AA008 in december and got the background noise/cut off signal problem. Saw the SEUS II client was available (norway) and gave it a try. Hm, indeed it updated the phone. I've still got R1AA008 after the update though. Does anybody know if it has been revised? Unfortunately it's too late for me to phone tonight, so I don't know if the bug is fixed.

Jup, didn't scroll all the way down
Still don't know if the noisebug is fixed though. Well, I'll find out in the morning when it is early/late enough to call someone

my w800i has older firmware. i want to update via SEUS.. but im never done this before. Does it take a genius to do it or any dummy will be fine?
I will be using the cable and the SE drivers..
what do you think i should do? or go out and get someone to do it, and pay..
Posted by starhannes
its very easy, it even has pictures in the step by step guide. just download SEUS II and you'll be fine.
id just recommend a connection quicker than 56k coz that will make u wait 2 hours

Hi,
I had the same problems updating my phone. Everything was working until the last bar and then "script error". I tried multiple times with the same results.
I then did 2 things:
- Free up some memory on the phone (I had a lot of pictures)
- Re-install Macromedia Flash player through IE
I then tried again and it worked. Not sure you have the same problem, but I think the Flash install is what fixed it. It is said to be a pre-req on the SE site and did not realize it was not fully installed on my laptop until I went to the Macromedia site.
Hope this helps.

I'm one of those that kept on getting message saying my k750i has up-to-date firmware and I know for a fact that I don't. Did anyone manage to get around this problem?
Posted by mwarner
@dpelican
"Did anyone manage to get around this problem?"
This is not a 'problem', it is simply that your operator hasn't released a customised version of the latest firmware at this point.
Posted by simply__me
Stupid script error. And yes, I've tried the suggestions so far. I've now got a semi-updated phone, but I'd appreciate it if I got the update done properly.
Looks like its another trip to the SESC for me. -.-
edit// nevermind.. i updated it just then. I wasnt watching but i thought I saw the 'lightning backgruond, but that was before i looked down, then back up to see that the screen had changed to the 'update finished' or whatever. So like.. WTF?
Heres my software info, can anyone confirm if theres anything wrong, because it still says R1N035 in there... unless thats supposed to be there. If not, then f**k you SE.

So, Im trying to use this new update service, however I have a problem when it asks to remove the sim card, hold down the C button and connect the usb cable. When i do this nothing happens. I have downloaded the update service usb driver, but can't install it (thats if its not allready installed) because the instructions state that i have to do the same procedure as above, turn off the phone, hold down C etc, but once again no installation process continues, the usb driver instructions say the found new hardware window will come up, but it doesnt, windows just recognises the phone is connected and it comes up as a drive, etc.
Can any one help me on this? i wouldnt mind making use of the new firmware. Thanks

Hello all,
Does anybody update from R1NA005 to R1AA008 and can confirm
reduction of noise when playing low volume MP3s ?
It's a pity I cannot listen to soft songs, the sound is really noisy
On the other hand, I'm affraid of the bug introduced with R1AA008
(Increased background noise during phone calls when the volume level is set to a low level.)
TIA for your answers.
Laurent

@Hesky
Thanks for the clarification. I guess mine still isn't properly updated.
@HappyKhan
I'm not too keen on doing master resets so that isn't an option for me. Other people have solved it differently though.
I might just take it to a SESC. But I really can't be bothered..
Posted by hnhl
@ laurentg0
In total I wouldn't update. The noise at low levels in mp3's is still there and the new backgound noise during calls is really annoying.

Hi Everyone.... just a note on my experience with getting my k750i (HK Brown phone) updated.
Firstly: thanks to all of you for the great posts here that help me a great lot!
Okay so when i got the phone i was all psyched! great phone, great features etc. etc. etc... AND a 2mp camera! SWEET!
However the signal was kinda weak in my house and the pictures weren't what i expected... so i decided to update using SEUS (before the cool Flash version). I kept getting a damn error! It was only after shearching the web crazyly that i came upon Esato and found out about the phone colors, IMEI numbers and the such... so i contacted Davinci Team, bought the cable and tried (several months later) to flash the phone.
Da Vinci team software Killed my Phone!!!!
I panicked! an USD 400 Brick!
Anyway on a whim, i tried updating using the NEW SEUS and (drum roll please...)
TADA It worked!
So just a note to everyone thanks nd PS check out the pic of my dog on the camera (v. 4.5)!

@ hnhl
Thx for your advice, so I have to downgrade to R1L002 to remove the noise...
or wait an eventual correction in a future firmware.
There was already "Fixes for low-tonal audio issues" in R1NA005. I can't ear them.
You can't ear the improvement in R1AA008...I'm affraid we will wait for a long time until SE solve the problem. (At least, they are aware of the problem

An update as to when R1AA008 / 750I, will be available on Orange UK?
Steve
Posted by icutcher
Do you think the new W810 will share the same firmware with us k750i/w800 like the t610 and the t630 or not?
Posted by Hesky
certainly the W810 design looks similar to K750/W800. The only difference i noticed in the specs is that it is Quad Band and not Tri Band.
SO it is a posibility.

Does anybody know when will r1aa008 be available for vofafone k750i vfe_2 cda102338/1....until now i tried updating but i get r1n035

As far as im aware Voda have already released the update fro there phones So if SE have now stopped the new firmware due to the fault with the Hissing then this may be the reason why you cant update.
Orange still are on R1N035, But again Orange may have told SE not to allow customers to update until its fixed?
Only a idea.

Just updated today using SEUS II, Vodafone Greece, K750i. Got the R1N0035 also... A matter of time to get a newer one I suppose. LOL I cannot believe that until now, when I read "press C and connect the phone" I always assumed it was the PC keyboard "c" button and not the phone's C button. Stupid...
BTW, does anyone else have false reports that he's/she's offline when people call? Was happening with my old K700i also, never with my 6100 Nokia... :S Weird!

@ionfist...
is you phone a brown(developer) or red(retail) phone? if it is brown like mine was you won't be able to use SEUS 2
Use the davinci team client to find out what color you phone is...

I had updated my w800 to r1aa008 when it first came out but i dont thing the update was very successfull as the phone is now starting to get sluggish. I have the latest update service software and the latest version of flash. When i use the update service i come to a point where there are phones flashing on and off the screen (i am guessing i have to select mine) but the buttons on the right of the phones have no text in them. i have figured out that the top buton is accept phone and the bottom button is to cancel. when the next screen appears, the same problem, no text whats so ever but there is some sort of text box frame and two buttons at the bottom, left one i cannot select and the right one takes me back to the previous screen.
anyone had this same problem?
how do you overcome this problem?
Posted by kill-1
@kremori:
I also have a German Vodafone K750i and can't upgrade to R1AA either. It seems we still have to wait...
Posted by amyroukai
@SE freak
Maybe you need to update your macromedia flash client? It sounds like a browser problem...
Posted by tef89
Updated my K750i (o2 - UK) a few weeks ago and I've just noticed (dont use it for calls much) some pretty bad interference during certain calls (mobile to mobile it seems) - like an small motor in the background.
Nice to see SE haven't let me down with with quality Firmware once again
Posted by new666
@ionfist
First read this it gives an explanation about the red/brown issue...
Then go here
download the client, connect you phone and click "info"
also you can use the search finction on the forum here to find more info on the DaVinci client.
Good Luck!

First of all thanks a lot.
I have manage to see that my phone it is BROWN
If i change it to RED then will i be able to use SEUS?
And btw this sucks...

@ionfist
Yes...it does suck!
i am not sure if you can change the color with out shelling out some cash for a 'credit' from the guys at DaVinci Team.
I had to pay for a credit and a new cable (20 euros!) to change the phone's CID and color using Da Vinci... but 80% into the update there was an error and my phone could not turn on! I PANICKED!
Luckly the color change took and when i hooked the phone up to the SEUS 2 it went ahead and updated like normal! (Read the whole story here) Although there are many users here that post about using DaVinci to do the above and have had no problems what-so-ever! "Luck-of-the-Draw" i guess!
Anyway... As far as i know, to only way you can change the color is using the special cable and paying for the service from DaVinci.
Search the forum.... there are maybe some other way that i might have missed.
once again, Good luck and let me know how it turnes out!

hi, i've got a sony ericsson k750i mobile phone on the r1aa008 firmware. i have just discovered that when i try to copy all or a few contacts to my sim card it will only copy one, which is usually random. also it will not automatically copy contacts to it when that is turned on... i'm not sure if its just my phone, a common problem or if its a fault in the new firmware. has anyone else got this problem? if so, is there a fix?
thankyou for any replies and help if possible.

Sorry, too fast on the submit button.
@CyberVisitor
I've spoken to a technician at my service provider here in Norway (NetCom). He is responsible for testing new FW in their network. After I told him about this hissing on R1AA008 (a couple of days after release) he flashed a K750 and discovered excactly the same. He has put a little "pressure" on SonyEricsson and they got back to him and said they're aware of the problem. A solution was not far away SE told him. So let's hope it's soon a new FW on its way.
