Which of the SE sites has the R1N firmware for O2 branded phones? I've tried the UK region and it says my firmware is up to date while I still have the stupid R1L with f**ked up video recording...

Pls someone HELP!!! Or should I try other regions?

Using a different se site won't help. It tells what phone you have by what the phone tells it. (someone here can tell you what info. Im not sure)

Hi! I know its not related to this forum but i just wanted to say that last week I would have asked your good self for a gmail invite but since then ive heard rather unsettling things about the mighty google - www.gmail-is-too-creepy.com

Sounds like another big brother type system to me...

On a lighter note i may have already asked this but seeing as SEUS is up and running again and it happily lets me upgrade to R1N does that mean its safe to do another update and not have to suffer more memory stick corruption? and also are files only getting corrupted when using the USB cable to transfer them? If i used a memory card reader instead would that solve the problem for now? Its been a busy week and I havnt had a chance to try it for myself.

Last question

I went to SE center near my house. He told me he couldnt debrand the phone, there is a partenrship bewteen SE and Vodaphone (at least in Belgium). He gave me another shop that could maybe do it but it's like one hour from my house.
So i i want to put the offcial (non Vodafone) software, what do i need to do? Use Da Vinci to put the latest official and then update via SE US? So i'll have R1N... official SE?
And if I do that, what do i have to chose as I live in Europe between Europe 1->6?!

Thanks a lot!

Files that ive transferred from the PC. e.g. picture taken with another camera..wont allow me to move to the internal memory. bit weird huh.

Sorry if this has been asked before but, if I did a master reset on my phone, will reflashing it with SEUS, restore the original content like the games and applications that came with the phone?

flash it to eu3
cda 102338/80
thats what i did (im in belgium too)
update worked fine after that

@homerjay

I believe Hajaz as answered that question....

SE service center wont unlock or debrand handsets... they will however just upgrade it for you...

After you get it unbranded you can pretty much do what Hajaz done

and thats the way the cookie crumbles...

No! That's why you shouldn't do a master reset in the first place

Posted by Leviath
@Vypr

Just a little addition....

If you must do a master reset you have two options on that screen...

Reset settings

Reset all....

Choose the reset settings as this will clear any "confusion" between the old and new firmware... (simple explanation)

The other good thing about this settings reset is that there is no data loss associated with it...

Ahhh!

I have been running R1N for about a week on CDA102338/12 (UK orange) with no problems but decided to see if there was an improved version available on SEUS yet.

Stupid!!!

SEUS has reverted me back to R1L (cam version 4.4), I suppose I'll have to wait until SE and Orange fix R1N to get it back.

Posted by Klorin
@only me
How did u get the N version in the first place? Came with your phone?

Posted by only me
I used SEUS to get R1N, must have tried on a day that Orange had R1N up on SEUS.. What SE gives SE can take away it seems.

how to remove the autofocus sound of w800i ?

Posted by Leviath
press # b4 shooting???

Not working all the time...

Posted by foreclose
i can remove the camera sound, but not the light sound of the autofocus focusing.. if you understand me

Posted by jcwhite_uk
You wont remove the autofocus sound as it is the lens actually moving to focus. The only way to remove the sound would be to glue the lens in place but then you wouldnt actually focus on anything.

Wasnt the volume spose to have been increased on the k750 with this latest firmware. I havent noticed any difference, its still too quiet when listening to music.

Any ideas?

So i've finally got the R1N035

- I don't see any optimization of video/photo, in dark (not so dark, in a room with light) i got a lot of blue noise, and the video recorder give a pixellised movie.

- My MP3 sound are still to the same volume.

i will compare with a friend that have never updated his one.

Can users with a K750i on the brown W800i (R1K001) firmware upgrade to the R1N035 for W800i?

Update: Well I tried anyway, and it said my phone couldn't be used with SEUS. Probably because of the Taiwan region of the phone or something. Oh well.

U can only do that over the likes of davinci team or total multiserver.... but if your phone ends up buggered up, dont say I didnt warn you...

SEUS wont let you do that UPDATE from K750i to W800i as you tried....possible only if... SE foock up again...

Has anyone updated to R1N035 using SEUS (k750i) without the memory stick bug

Posted by velman
I have huge problems with my memory stick after upgrading to R1N035 (W800). Anyone having a solution??? I really need som help here!

my k750's unbranded. took it to SE shop, removed memory stick and sim card, and then they successfully updated to r1n.

so far, memory stick data are still ok..

@velman,

I updated my K750 15/09 and got the memorystick bug also. Today I ran the update again (got the message that I already had the latest firmware, but proceeded anyway).

This time I took out the memorystick and changed the phone language to english before I updated, the update went smoothly.

Then I inserted the memorystick and formatted it just in case and changed back the phone language.

I haven't had any problems yet, except that I lost connection when I was copying some MP3's to the phone, but I only needed to disconnect and reconnect the USB cable and all files were still there. Previously some files were gone.

The only thing that works for me is what i posted a while back: When transfering mp3s pop em in the mp3 folder only then disconnect, dont open the media files folder for any reason, all my files stay put if i do it that way, as far as transfering pics, vids etc i have to put em on fone memory and send to external mem when i disconnect, a pain in the neck i know but nothin else works for me, flashing back to R1L would fix this but i prefer everything fixed in R1N over R1L so i guess i'll have to live with it for now lol.

Aha just what ive been waitng for u flashed 1st time around the same time as me to get the m.s bug. so i mite just risk a reflash i doubt anything worse can happen

Interesting. Firmware "MR2-B" ??!

I think SE aren't telling us something here. BTW like O2, SE are not talking to me (@ work) at the moment.

Posted by O2 K750i
@happycheesecake - I wouldnt worry - SE have nothing truthful or useful to say and O2 - well I guess I am nearly half way through the contract and they can p1zz themselves if they think I will stand for this at contract renewal. The phone does not do all that it is sold as.

It seems the memorystick bug is still there

I don't know if it will help to use 'safely remove hardware'

I tried to copy 6 files into the mp3 folder (making 2 new folders also), just 2 files were there when I disconnected the usb cable. Then I successfully copied the 4 remaining files again, using 'safely remove hardware'.

Posted by gseth
OK, everyone try doing this.

Plug in the phone to the usb,

Open my computer and format (quick, FAT) the memory stick.

Then try, this worked for me.

oh gawd i wont be reflashing then lol. i always use 'safely remove hardware' ive never just unplug so that cud be whats keeping my mp3s there

@ gseth 'quick FAT' is one i didnt try although i used all the other format ways. dont fancy formatting again it took me ages to restore all my files, will wait n see if it works for others first

Windows XP SP2 doesnt offer the option of 'safely remove hardware' on any machine I've got / use @ work. Perhaps it is a windows compatibility??? - Just a maybe - no need for a Leviathing.

EDIT
Ignore the above I was talking knickers - just found hidden icon

Can somebody tell me that how can I check the software version of my SE K750i? I have shortcuts enable in my phone and when I try to check the version, it takes me to "create Message" box. Do I need to disable the shortcuts for that? Also, how can I upgrade the software in my phone? Please reply in layman's language as this is the first time I'll playing with my phone in terms of its software. Also, when I try to shoot a pic from Camera, phone is not storing any of it in designated folder & It just goes back to main screen. Is there any problem with Camera?

I wouldnt dare - I was expecting the suggestion to be shot down about how rubbish and wrong I am - still time I suppose...

But it would be an idea to include the Windows version when these xfer bugs are discussed.

From a mailing this morning:

You can use this flashes to convert your
K750 phones into W800, using DCU-60 cable!
Flash Main and FS files using client 13.7
or higher version and enjoy with latest W800 firmware.

So you can now convert from a K750i to W800i using a standard data cable (DCU-60).

The comm problem was fixed in Russia by:

1. Changing all the regional settings to English/US in XP
2. Removing MS from phone
3. Stopping all unused processes and closing all windows (except taskmanager)

That's all... After two days of fighting it flashes succsessfuly only after I've completed all three steps above.

BTW my K750i was flashed successfully from 1st try on the same pc with the same config without any tricks...

May I ask you from where do you get update overview ?

As I swiss user, I cannot find on SE website wich firmware is up to date.

I did try to update my phone but I got the R1L002 and not the R1N035.
