i dont just think its the operators.
I think the servers are all having a bad time of trying to supplys us with the updates. lol
The only thing i can suggest, is delete all you cookies and restart you pc. Try again. you never know

sim card makes no diff. as with other SE phones it uses the CDA to determine how it needs to be updated
mine also won't update and I get the same message even though mine is sim free and unbranded

Could this mean that the operators demand more for there customers?

Yeah my update just completed... it's now R1J002, and my uncle helped get my phone for me from his friend in NY, it's a european phone.. it's "prgCXC 125952_EU_1_CL"
I dont really know why yours isn't working, because mine worked perfectly fine.

cant get it work on mine. came up first time asking for the usb flash drivers which i thought were just on the cd so tried to use them which didnt work then the msg wont come back. reinstalled pc suite but still can get it to pop back up any ideas

Can anybody help me update my fone please. I downloaded the update service usb drivers and installed them correctly. Then i went to the update service page and ticked all the boxes. But when I click next the next page doesnt show anything and nothing happens. Anybody have a idea?

Update completed. I am so happy. Maybe I dont have to take out my battery twice a day now. I had to use my old T630 because of all the lockups.
Hope the guys with EU_3 gets sorted quickly.

Might have found a bug....sorry to burst the bubble...since updating to R1J i cannot connect to GPRS service...the phone attaches (blue triangle above signal) but i just get a communication error when i try to open a page...redownloaded settings from SE which i had in the phone before without success....

I have the same problem with my gprs. Cant connect. says settings not valid. Are you on O2? I tried both my prepaid sim card with the right settings and my contract one with its settings cant connect. Anybody with a solution??
O yeah i downloaded the settings from SE before and it worked, downloaded it again but not working
