Hmm no one realy replied whether it is possible to create the folders on the memory stick and whether the phone will see it if I use the memory stick as a different partition and use it like that ... oh yeah one more thing, whats the biggest amount of memory that k750 can handle I wanna get a new memory stick ... was it 512 or 1gb? And maybe some one knows a cheap website for that ...
Thanks in advance
Posted by numb
Yes you can create folders on the memorystick and the phone will see them just fine, as long as you follow the normal structure, meaning, folders for audiofiles should be created under the existing mp3 folder or the existing audio folder.
The size of supported Memorystick Pro is only limited by current available size which is 2GB, in the future bigger memorysticks will be released (4gb soon) and the phone will support these also.
For places to buy you will need to search yourself

alright ... cool. So I guess I'll be buying 2gb card then. Thanks numb! By the way if some one's inturested I found a website where they're realy cheap ... maybe that could help some one out:
http://www.pricegrabber.com/s[....]y+stick&mode=lytkcp&skd=1&rd=1
Alrighty ... I'm off til I get more problems lol
Posted by CoolMeEddy
Hmm, I investigated the website a bit more and found some thing realy weird. For the price of 2GB card I can get three 1GB cards .. doese that make sence?
Posted by n3x
Your best bet is to look on ebay, i got a 1gig card on there the other day for £54.95.
2 gig cards are gonna be seriously expensive seeing as they're top of the range and have only recently been released. So i would go with 1 gig or maybe 2 1 gig cards! Just imagine if u lost ur phone and it had a 2gig card in it! I got wacked on the head and had my s700i nicked... fortunately it was insured with only a 512gig card...
If u dont like ebay and you're in the uk the best site i know about is www.ebuyer.com!

How can i install portuguese language in k750i and dictionary

Yeah, I was thinking on getting 2 1Gig cards ... makes more sence. Thanks for the reply.

hi guys. I just checked my K750i,the firmware is R1L002,so can someone tell me what is the best firmware? and should i change it? Thx
Posted by Grimslade
@Coolmeeddy--Unfortunately, that's about right. The 2GB cards cost a fortune right now. Just get 31GBs...
Amazon has them pretty cheap too, FWIW.

any sign of the new firmware?
Posted by mwarner
Not yet I am afraid. A firmware is 'due'* but whether it will arrive this week, as is rumoured, remains to be seen!
* i.e. it has been a long time since R1L
Posted by max_wedge
I have no big issue with R1L, why change something that works?
The only real issue is the loss of video quality since R1A.
Posted by mwarner
R1L is a stable firmware, hence the long delay before it's successor is released. However I and many others still run R1A due to the higher quality video. I get the occasional crash, which is rather annoying, but stick with the firmware solely because of the video quality issue.
Hopefully the next firmware will combine the stability of R1L with the video quality of R1A. I am pretty sure that is all most of us require from the next firmware.

I would like bt fixes as i use headset often. Also like fix for mem stick if docked and i switch off pc.

Now just a second here. I have stuck with SE from T68i, T610, K700 and now K750. However I have also used a Nokia 6020 and realised how lacking SE software really is. After all these years the SW is still unacceptably slow for a phone of this quality. Another problem is inferior audio quality / reception, but I'm not sure this can be resolved through firmware upgrades. The K750 may be an incredible diverse phone but when it comes to the basics SE are left trailing. The fact that SE encourage users to upgrade firmware at home says a lot about the production firmware.

Spot on! Bluetooth 2.0 might be faster to connect but its also faster to disconnect just when you don't want it to...
And the disappearing memory stick issue is a pain, too.

Like we've said before, firmware updates unless major only get released once every 3 months or so, so i dont expect an update available until the second half of September.
An update this week would be very welcome though, especially if it fixes the video quality.

I thinkj you'll find that both reception and audio quality were fixed in the k700 and remain so in the k750/w800/k600
I'm pleased that we can do software upgrades at home, nothing worse than having to send off and wait
I had a selection of nokia 6200 based phones and they all had a software induced crackle on incomming calls when first released
SE is the best again (but are still playing catchup from the 8210 days - the first small phone with excellent bat. life)

Hi everyone!
I have K750i phone. Does the latest firmware from SE Update Service fix the "freezing screen every some minutes"? Or is that a hardware problem?
May be my questions already been answered in this forumn. But, due to too many threads, I cannot find it.
Thank you.

@VashThePhone
Many threads, yes! But the answer is in this thread - the first post actually!

The R1J fw was much faster than R1A or R1L... Hope that the new fw will be faster....

Hi everyone!
My phone is K750i with firmware R1L002. And It has "freezing screen problem" which happens very often and the main annoying thing is that it is really hard for people to call my number as if the phone is turned off. not to mention it usually takes me 10 or more attempts to make a single call...
So, yesterday I updated my firmware via SE Service Update website. After about 4 hours successfully downloading and installing the firmware to my phone, nothing is changing to my phone. (and when I see the firmware version, turned out that it was the same as before, ie. R1L002)
My questions are:
1. Is this a hardware problem?
2. Is there anyway that I can install SE firmware ver. R1J002 (I read from the first thread, it says that it can solve the freezing problem)? if yes, how to do that?
3. Which version of firmware actually I have to download and install? Where can I find it?
Thank you... PLEASE HELPPP

previously i installed seus_setup118.exe and it updated to R1L002. Today, i installed seus_setup119.exe (thought it's a new firmware release) but it appears as same firmware version.
anyway, i face this problem when i try to playback my record movie. At the first 7 seconds, it pause a little while before it continues. anyone facing the same problem as i do?

I just updated my phone today (seus_setup119), tested my video playback and everything is fine.

I didn't get any new install from SEUS...?
what to do?
Posted by happycheesecake
Straight from the horses mouth (i.e. SE):
"There is a software update going to be released for the Sony Ericsson K750i. We do not have a release date yet but if you could check on the Sony Ericsson website or email us again in a fortnight there will be more information."
Original email available upon request. I have more info but I'm bound under a confidentiality agreement.

is the video quality "fixed" in this new firmware? r u allowed to share that info?
thanks

Probably a stupid question, but if you use the SE SEUS upgrade thing on their support website and it updates your firmware, does it wipe all ur stuff off the phone? ie txts, photos, settings etc?
Posted by Itanium
No. all the settings / personalizations / content stays intact after update.
Posted by wheresmybeaver
Ok cool cheers for that.
The only thing that bugs me about the current K750 firmware is the Media Player. I know the W800 is supposed to be the Music phone and the K750 the imaging phone, but still, having iPod style Artist / Album sorting wouldnt kill them

You won't lost anything except if you will do a total settings restore. In that case your phone will reset totally. You'll also lost the demo.
I have a question too. Is it possible to know what version is provided by SEUS without going thru the update process or you can only know the version by updating the phone? For what I saw the last case is the correct one. Let me know.
Have a nice day,
Miki.
Posted by Itanium
There is a partial solution to that. You can get to know that before updating but you have to start the update procedure nonetheless.
As soon as the update service software starts downloading the files, look into 'Program Files\\Sony Ericsson\\Update Service\\software-data' folder. You can see which version it is downloading from the name of the files. If its still the same, you can cancel downloadind and don't have to go through actual updation of the phone.

has anyone tried recovery mode in SE website? Does it help to revert back to the previous firmware? will it be 100% working without problem after taking this step? i'm really tired with the bad quality video ever since the previous update...
Posted by fu1at
yes, the recovery work. but no the default manufacture firmware.
Posted by numb
recovery mode does not revert to previous firmwares, its object is to try and recover phones that died during update by reflashing. But it reflashes with the current firmware.

i hope i am wrong but i dont forsee the vidcam being improved at all.
SE has known about the degradation and yet proceeded to release the w800 with the same degraded vidcam. my thoughts are that the higher bitrate interferes with the phone's stability. SE might not be willing to take that trade off
Posted by n3x
ur probably right! What other reason would there be to reduce the bitrate in the first place? I encode videos on my pc at 100kbps and watch them on my phone (not to sure what the current phone recording bitrate is anymore). They do play fine most of the time though, but every now and then after I step back out of the media player after watching a film or something the phone will reset itself! Not a big problem but does tie up with your instability theory! I have no other probs with my fone at all as far as i know.
oh an i was wondering... whats the weather like in uranus?

I have the same problem, my phone has frozen twice and restarted once. On all three occasions, I was watching videos using the media player and then I wanted to exit and go to the main desktop, so I pressed the back button a few times in quick succession.... then the phones restarted/froze ...
Posted by O2 K750i
As I said before, I think the problem is related to memory timing and this is demonstrated by moving through menus rapidly, large pictures etc. I am not surprised it has taken a long time to get the next firmware nor surprised if this is not totally resolved when the firmware does make its entrance. I think it is a big issue - memory throughput and a mass re-write / optimisation of the code is going on. This data rate issue I think may be the cause of the O2 Vs R1J GPRS.
