I have an annoying problem.
I purchased the phone unbranded. I tried to upgrade the firmware when the phone was unbranded but I had a problem with the USB drivers and didn't understand how to fix it (I do now). In order for me to use the picture msging & wap features I had to download settings from my provider (Virgin). I then tried to do the upgrade again and this time it tells me that my provider doesn't support the upgrade
I decided to try and reset the settings to see if this might work but it wants an unlock code to do that
Any ideas?

i'm pretty sure you can't brand an unbranded phone without flashing the firmware - so it's likely your setup for wap and mms did nothing.
the seus update doesn't have the most informative messages, and as discussed elsewhere on this forum (if you'd search), whether you can update or not depends on your CDA version and IMEI.. just because you have an unbranded phone doesn't mean you're guaranteed to receive an update - and it's independent of operator (my unbranded phone bought in france was unwilling to be SEUSed regardless of a number of different carrier sims i tried in it)
lastly, the master reset is probably not asking you for an unlock code, but rather the pin for the phone which is, if you haven't set it yet, either 0000 or 1234

My cellphone is not branded, I use Proximus as operator in Belgium.
No other Firmware supports the 'Dutch' language, but I'm willing to switch to EN if I can get rid of that annoying shutter sound.
Which firmware do you recommend to get rid of the shutter sound?(EMEA6?) Can you give me some more info on what the 'CDA' code stands for? I called my operator to get the right 'settings' from them, is that related to the CDA code? The '/80' at the end of the CDA code looks to be 'rare'. I found a list of CDA codes hee: http://www.p800.info/forum/viewtopic.php?t=21245&p=148609, but it doens't list my code.

Slow - Yes - out of interest which FW do you have. The camera is slow in all FW thus far. R1A had better quality than R1L/J.

send the .jar file to phone using BT or IR and it will autoinstall,
Or copy the .jar file to the "other" folder using the cable, then goto the other folder on the phone and select install from the menu.

i have a K750i for about a month now. i tried to update the firmware [R1A044] to a newer one thru the SE update services but after flashing the "it should start in 15 secs.", nothing happens everytime i try... i brought it to SESS in Glorietta, Makati. and they were able to update it to R1L002... but the only change that i noticed is the change in the firmware number [R1L002] and NOTHING more!!! can someone tell me the changes that should be? Thanks!!!

Videostreaming has to be done through SDP files using RTSP session control. Neither K700 nor K750 support PVX files. The supplier should use SDP to stream instead of PVX.
If you K700 supported streaming before, the supplier must have switched streaming protocol and used SDP before.

Here is an extract of the SE white paper for K700I/K750i :
"The following streaming session initiation options are supported in WAP applications:
• Plain rtsp:// URL entered in the Bookmarks or Enter address dialogs
• http:// URL pointing to a .SDP file
In addition, streaming sessions may be started from outside the video player via file association. For example, the user may click on a link to an SDP file from inside the Web browser, or on a local .sdp file from the File Manager. In either case, the video player application will be invoked to start the streaming session.
The user can play locally stored video clips by selecting a .3GP or .MP4 file in the video player application."
18 months ago it was the same for me with my K700i and my S700i:
"File type not supported by phone. Download anyway ?" If I press "yes" it downloads a file called view.pxv in the "other" folder on the phone.
After many calls to SE and Orange, a FW update R2AE033 EU_1, the K700i was fixed (not my S700i). Is it the FW or is it Orange ?
-it works for me with the K700i, the K500i and not with the K750i and the S700i certainly because Orange France (my supplier) doesn't support yet the k750i.
So they finally send .SDP to K700i and K550i and still send erroneously .pvx to K750i (and the S700i because few people use it, they don't care).
I think that they don't understand how it works: the Orange FR engineer told me by phone at the 2nd level assistance that the SE engineer told him (sorry) : "The K750i is not a smartphone, .pxv if for smartphone only !".
So Orange FR think that the K750i is a smartphone !
They even told me during my first call that the K750i was not able to switch to http mode.
Maybe SE has not sent the Technical Specifications of the K750i to them ?

There was an issue where some operators could not supply GPRS on that firmware.
AFAIK its all fixed now.

the blocking GPRS refers to the J002 Firmware. that FW has a GPRS issue and was fixed in the latest firmware which is L002. those two are not related. the previous discusses about the J002 firmware and the second states what firmware is available in the SEUS.

Apologies if this has been asked before, but I can't seem to find an answer. I bought a sim free, unbranded k750 from CPW. I updated to R1J with no problems. When trying to update to R1J I get the following error "There is currently No service for phones belonging to your opererator" What's that all about? I have a vodaphone PAYT sim in it.

If you've got R1J, why are you trying to update to the same firmware ?
Chances are you've got up to date firmware so it wont update further.

If he got one from cpw with r1j then it should av updated to r1l through seus and i got a k750i from cpw 3 days ago with r1l software already on it and i tried seus and got the same error as above it said operator not supported
does anybody know whats goin on here at all thanks
as you can see on this log the 7 at the bottom says error and for security reasons iv took imei number off

I updated my phone from R1J to R1L, and despite not much difference between the to (as other people stated) I noticed an increased speed in menus / browsing ..etc aside from browsing the pictures menus were doubled in load time also videos load straight away, don't know if anybody else noticed it but I'm mentioning it because there is a big difference for me.

I went to the SE hp and updated the firmware...so I thought. The weired thing is: It went throught the update process fine whithout any error. It successfully finished then. I then looked at the firmware version and it was still the J-Version as it was before unstead of the L-version? The only brand is that u see is the eplus logo when the phone is shut of.

My GPRS works fine as I have been browsing the Orange wap portal fine after the upgrade. My main concern is, that I want to get the HCB-300 bluetooth car kit, for both my vehicles, but need to know if both these firmwares are going to work OK with it. Have heard there are problems with the K750i and the HCB-300 working well together, but it seems as if it is a problem with the K750i software rather than the car kit. Anyone using this car kit with the K750i and firmware R1J or R1L.

I have the R1L002 firmware (the latest official) on my k750i but i have a lot of problems with the bluetooth connection to my Palm Lifedrive.
When i try to send a photo from my k750 the first time it's ok, but the second time it can't connect to the palm anymore. I have to do a full hard reset on my palm (deleting everything on it) to get it working again. However, i am convinced the problem's not on my palm, but on the k750 because with other phone's i don't have this problem.
I have the same problem with my internet connection (i use the k750 to connect my palm to internet with GPRS); first time ok, after that it can't establish a connection. I hope someone has a good idea how to fix this... Thanx a lot in advance.

Mailed SE about BT as O2 gave free O2 Blue headset when I joined on contract.
Lots of problems wwith BT and headset. SE said in email that they do not support non-SE branded BT equipment.

Problem with PC shut down and non-available Memory Stick - SE have mailed me back saying it was fixed in R1L. I have R1L and still have the problem. Apparently my FW has become corrupted and I need to take it to SESS. Have you any more info on when the fix is due?

The k750i has serious bluetooth issues... my s700i never had any problems connecting to SE or non SE equipment. My k750 refuses to send stuff to my pc but will happily recieve things and 95% of the time it wont connect at all via remote control (so wots the point in this feature?) I think SE were looking for an easy way out of an argument by saying they do not support non-SE branded BT equipment...
After all this im still happy with the phone but my s700 was so much more reliable and i got that when it was released and never updated the firmware!
Are there anymore plans to release another firmware update? this forums gone kinda dead...

hmmm, i don't know what's the issue of some of the K750i (issued in Europe??) but my unit's (with China R1L002) BT is pretty reliable. yesterday i travelled 500 kilometers with my HBH-15 paired to my K750i and never had a problem making and receiving calls. i also use my phone with Anycom CF bluetooth card and use file manager and sync without problems, well, so far.
