Got a link to that story ?

I think that picture is very good, the only point to complain is maybe the focus was locked on the boy, which made the wall behind him to the right look a little blurred, when the whole scene should have been in focus.

why are these no where near as good as some other images from the k750? for example - the pictures on the SE site by them famous photographers?!

Posted by tazmania
the problem with this topic is that its got 5% pics and 0.1%videos. the rest are comments.....

maybe you should restart it...

@etaab

Wait a minute...... wasn't it you that complained about the S700 having this feature and that atleast with the 750 you had the choice to zero in on the subject and blur the background?

You don't like this feature now?

is that a joke... rela photographers are trained and understand lighting and have creativity...

what you see here 9/10 is just random candid shots.. which would not match a true photograhpers work

First off the S700i does not have that feature.

Secondly, the point is, you'd use that feature when taking pictures of people with distant backgrounds. That young boy is stood only a couple of yards from a wall, theres no point in blurring the background and bringing the boy to the front of the picture.

REO, you really are insecure about your S700i, huh ?

Posted by REO
@etaab
I never said the S700 has the feature.
However it will have an entire pic in focus.
Insecure? I HAVE A SECOND UNIT IN THE BOX. My comment was to let you know that you were contradicting yourself.

Not sure what you're going on about, second what in a box ? chocolates ? tv remote ? rubber chicken ?

Oh, so your post was intentionally start a flame war ? i see now.

However you're completely wrong (as always heh !).

You reckon im saying that i no longer like the feature. What im really saying is (if you'd take the time to read posts thoroughly), that in that particular picture of the small red headed boy, the use of the autofocus has actually lost some quality in the image.

If the young boy was stood with his back to a lake, or a castle on a distant hill then it would have been better used. But, the picture was taken when using autofocus when it really wasnt needed, and certainly not necessary because the boy was close to the background behind him. In doing so, the background has been blurred too much making it look a little odd.

You'd use autofocus when you'd like to make the object you're shooting at the subject of the image, which isnt really needed in that picture.

@etaab
This explanation captures what was missed earlier. This makes perfect sense.

Posted by REO
The watch pic is superb...... WOW !!!!!

Posted by REO
All kidding a side....... The watch pic is a digital cam right?

Posted by Superluminova
as far as i'm lead to believe it come straignt from a k750!

Posted by *Jojo*
@super - Nice room pal, was that taken in the normal mode or extended?

Posted by Superluminova
couldn't say mate, i don't have the phone, i got the photos from M-R the freaky thing is that the uy who took those pictures has the same bedding sheets as me!!!!!

any back on topic!

Well I'm impressed with the resolution of the pictures taken thus far, even though Esato does resize them.

That said Esato cannot damage the quality of the colors taken. Arez, the large photo you posted at the bottom of page 3 is odd; in that reds no longer pose a problem. However, greens dont quite come out that good; this seems to be an issue with most cmos cameras, not sure if its ccd/cmos in the K750.

Look at the grass, light greens seem to be ok, but darker greens have some kind of purplish hue, not quite a purple fringe affect, just looks like a dibble of purple was mixed in the the dark green. Other than that this phone is pretty serious with the color. looks like just one firmware update is all it takes to get it just right.

Gads the price drop of my wife's k700 is just hurting.

@Superluminova, that watch shot is way too sharp for a phone cam, man! is that from a k750?!!! i hope you're not pulling our eggs....i mean legs.

Posted by etaab
I didnt know REO even owned a K750i.. or does he ?

That watch picture, although good could have come from any camera since we cannot see the EXIF information.

I dont even think it was anything special, i think the K750i can produce much better than that even if it was taken by a K750i.

Posted by masterp
another one from me hope it is better then the things i posted so far

:edit: another one

@etaab, the watch photo is FROM A K750!!! It was taken yesterday by a dutch guy (jesper from mr)...he´s been shooting like mad since he got the phone....it´s a great photo that shows the potential of k750´s cam

Posted by *Jojo*
If that Slazenger watch image was taken from the K750i's - 2 MP cam, well I am just at AWE here ! Going back to the issue of the cam's sharp resolution, I read in one of the threads here last year, that the human eye has an equivalent of 7 MP camera clarity. I asked this to my brother-in-law, whose family is in the film (negative) industry for decades now and told me that the human eye has an INFINITE resolution of image clarity, much far incomparable with the digicam's MP equivalent, how true

if that 7mp thing u said was true, there wud be no point in making cameras higher than 7mp....cause our eye wudnt be able to see it properly.....

Posted by shyam335
damn,those pics from k750 looks so good

Posted by turt
Well the point of having 7MP cameras is to zoom in the picture and have a decent quality for printing

@masterp

Those two pics of the dog, one pic said 508Kb and the other was 561Kb. Does the 2 megapixel K750i really take photos that are over 1/2 a MB in size? Wouldn't this fill the memory in like, oh, 5 minutes or so? How long does it take to open the photo folders? Do you fall asleep waiting for the photos to transfer via Bluetooth?

If the photo files are that size, one has to wonder how long it will be before we see 2GB and 4GB memory stick duo?

If you take more than 128 photos in highest quality and resolution in less than 5 minuttes and only have the standard 64mb memorystick then yes it would be full.

If you need more space for more pictures then just buy larger memorysticks.

The size of each photo depends on how much jpg compression is used, 500kb for a 2mp shot is not that much, my normal digicam pictures in the same resolution is atleast 1500kb.

To keep quality you have to not compress it to much, the more compression used, the lower quality. If 500kb pr. photo seems like much then just select a lower qualitysetting or a lower resolution.
You cant have both high quality and extremely low filesize, thats a contridiction of terms.

Posted by *Jojo*
@reo - Nice controller mates! Transparent casing . . .

@vivek - You have a point pal.

Posted by carkitter
@numb

I agree with what you say: it's quite logical.
A quick check of the photo's taken by my K700i shows an average 60Kb on normal and 125Kb on fine setting. 500Kb photo's sent to my K7 via Bluetooth or MMS would cause havoc!
I don't own a Digital Camera and therefore have no idea what size files they have. Thanks for the info.

judge the pics about quality not what is in the picture

@masterp - Does the K750 really add the date and time at the bottom corner of the pic ? cool, if it does !

You can ask it to in the options - in fact the whole camera user menu is very similar to that of sony's cybershot cameras, the menu scrolls along the bottom.

Can anyone find out how to mute the shutter sound, i've only had the phone for less than an hour and half, but haven't found that option.
