If things go my way my next phone will be the Xperia Mint, which I think is the International version of the GX. Or may be im confused, but holding out for something special from Sony!

Just poping in to say hi and make sure your all still alive

Posted by chunkybeats
yep im still here, not sure about the rest!! I tried to click on your link M Oli but no joy, resend it here or message me and I can certainly help you.

Well lots has changed over the course of time, still have my Neo V, running well still, now hanging on for the Xperia V when it comes in on import. Just got myself a Sony Tablet S for $180 off trade me. Its a few tiny scratches but the screen is locked so going to see if i can reflash the tablet so I can use it again!!! Exciting!!

Whats been happening here? Wheres the old gang gone too?

Not sure where everyone went, got a bit quiet round here. I'm mostly on the like of Xda and the Sony forum these days but pop in here and lurk from time to time. Thats quite a steal for the tablet, very jealous, wouldn't mind picking one up myself.

I'm still around, just very occasionally now!

How is the tablet chunkybeats? Did you get it reflashed? Gotta say I'm pretty keen for one but won't be able to afford it for a while!

I hope you guys all have a great Christmas next week. Looking forward to hearing about any gadget gifts you might get!

Anyone still checking back here?

I now have an XPERIA Z which I got two weeks ago. This phone is amazing!

Posted by tranced
That's nice. How does it work?

Posted by Muhammad-Oli
How does it work? Come on Tranced, be a bit more specific!

It's just super quick at everything and the screen is beautiful. Also the design is so perfect... Love the glass front and back.

Posted by tranced
You know what I mean. No lagging? Boot up time? EVERYTHING EVERYTHING!

Posted by Muhammad-Oli
Mostly no lag... I noticed a little in a few games I play but pretty insignificant. Booting is a little slow, but then I rarely turn it off!

Posted by tranced
Hahahahaha. Sony did a great job there.

Now I will wait for next year to get this. Too much I can't afford.

Ordered a Tablet Z today through Noel Leeming (my brother works there so we get discount). Can't wait to have the Z tablet and phone combo!

Posted by Muhammad-Oli
The tablet is absolutely stunning. Screen is beautiful, no slow-down apps optimised for the larger screen and the same great styling as the Z. Loving it so far.

I ordered a Sony Xperia SP just recently and it is due to arrive on Tuesday. I've been using my Zylo for a couple of months after my Galaxy S2 died.

Just recently bought a Raspberry Pi too.

Hi Carkitter! Glad to see you still pop back from time to time. Let's have a conversation where the replies are months apart!

How are you finding the SP?

My Z died the other day. Turns out that it heating up under heavy use can make it not-so-waterproof. I'm waiting to hear back from the repairs place about what happens next. I expect they'll blame it on me and I'll have to argue and link them to forums detailing the fault until they give me a refund.

On the plus side, my tablet Z is awesome.

Well, apparently they're fixing my Z under warranty. The repairs place seemed surprised that Sony had accepted the claim under warranty even though I told them why exactly the waterproof phone had water damage.

I'm unsure how much work goes into fixing water damage and whether its worth fixing over replacing, but we'll see what exactly they've done when it comes back. All they've told me is they're waiting on parts, and I suppose 'parts' can mean anything.

Lucky you

Well it turned out for the best. A brand new Z was in the parcel that I opened this morning.

It's going straight on TradeMe to see what I can get before the Z2 comes out.

Posted by Muhammad-Oli
So... the Z2 is taking aaages to come out here! It is very frustrating waiting for it, made worse by the fact I'm using my old Xperia X10 in the meantime which is utterly awful by today's standards.

I have been tempted to import the Z2 numerous times, and the sweet deals that places like Clove and Mobicity offer are killing me. The only reason I have held out so far is the hunch that Vodafone New Zealand will offer something sweeter, like a Sony Smartband or Smartwatch with the Z2. If they confirm no bonus of any kind, I'll be ordering from Clove the very same day!

Err... how about years apart?
Are you still in Auckland? I'm sure you've finished your study now.
How are you liking the current cost of rent / house prices in the 09? Driving you to despair like everybody else?

How are you finding the SP?

SP is still going strong. Kit laggy on the current firmware but with comparatively low RAM... whad'ya gunna do?

I kept going with the Xperia SP as long as I could but alas, my online banking app expired so I had to update to a newer version of Android. Just bought a Huawei Y7 locked to Vodafone NZ from the Warehouse for $249 which I think is an outstanding deal. It's nice to use, fast and responsive and cheap considering my personal phone takes a back seat to my work phone which is a Samsung J5 Prime (ugh!).

Is everyone aware of this thread?

Hi everyone! I am new to this place and I need some urgent help. So, the thing is, I had some unexpected expenses and ran out of money so now I can't pay my bills. And taking a payday loan like https://paydaygorilla.com/nz/ seems to be the only option at this point. But as far as I know, some people have a really negative approach to this kind of loans. The main reason is a high interest rate but I am ok with that because I know that I'll pay the money back in a few days, right after I get my salary. But are there any other reasons that I should consider before I take such a loan in New Zealand?

In my 11 month stay here in New Zealand. I've met a lot of people from different races, with different faces, coming from different places and they we're all very nice to me except for Indians. Islanders think of Filipinos as a brother nation, Kiwis say that they love the Filipino's fun and friendly nature. Chinese people think of us as comrades. But, I've met a lot of Indians as well and they all either gave me cold shoulders or just blatantly stereotype us as being filthy or coming from a third world country. I don't really mind that as it is true I come from a country that is actually third world and compared to New Zealand it is quite dirty and polluted (the cities). So, I just want to know what you guys think of us Filipinos. Use the power of anonymity to your advantage and speak your mind and let me know what you guys think of us. I just want to be a better soon to be Citizen here in New Zealand.
