Hey Oli,

How come Ocean 21 got the fan and not you? Surely you were post 10?

Posted by Muhammad-Oli
Yeah, but I've already won three items in Playtime, so I'm not allowed to win anything more.

I already won a fan anyway!

I can tell Oli, you are itching to get these points huh! At least next time you are sweating about waiting to post intime, you can keep yourself cool with an SE fan! haha

Hahaha yeah, I just wanna get ahead of PK so bad! I keep catching up then losing out overnight. From now on I'm staying up practically all night cause I'm on holiday now. I want that C902!

Posted by JiSm
OMG! You are a machine! Yea, I was gonna donate my 1 point to you if i could.

Posted by Muhammad-Oli
Thanks mate, I think Goldenface wanted to sell me his points the other night too. It would certainly help, but I'm sure it's not allowed! I don't think many people want PK to win cause he gets free phones whenever he wants. You'd think winning a C902 would hardly be special for him.

Posted by JiSm
Yea, I reckon. He would just sell/trade it on here anyways. Oh well, good luck buddy! If I can convince anyone to let me donate my point I will.

Posted by Muhammad-Oli
Cheers! Yeah PK says he won't sell it, but then what will he do with it? He'll have all these new phones to play with and the C902 will get dumped in the closet!

Incoming National government? God I hope not. I can't stand that John Key, and his cocky "I'm so good" grin. He is a tosser and I hope he fails. It wouldn't look good having him represent our country.

Is that all you have to complain about with Key? I should think that's the least of NZ's worries. Obama has a wide cheesy grin too and he has been hailed as the saviour of America.

The complaints about Helen's rabble are long and concerning. Starting with cancelling the F16 purcahse in '99, then removing the Skyhawks (which still can't be sold), reforming ACC to allow $20,000 dollar payments to prisoners who break their legs while escaping (it actually happened!), Parallel Importing legislation, the Benson Pope saga, the Fart Tax, ratifying the Kyoto protocol and under-estimating the cost of it, the 170km/h trip to the rugby match, the Electoral Finance Act debarcle that caught Labour out, the Pledge Card Fraud and the Winston Peters saga, and that's just off the top of my head. I'll be watching the election result with bated breath on Saturday.

Posted by Muhammad-Oli
Hahaha I never said I want Helen Clarke in there either. I just want somebody respectable. I don't care what Winston Peters has done. The saga is overblown and in my eyes unimportant. That's why I'll vote for Winston Peter's party. He would at least be respectable. Plus he's just awesome.

Posted by frankthetank
Bill and Ben party needs to have one seat in Parliament, both would be better!

'Nuff Said

"But can they at least tell us what their priority is? What’s the first thing they’ll do if elected?

“A funnel,” says Bill.

“We’re putting the party back in political party,” agrees Ben."

Cause it was just that. Crappy. And I couldn't be stuffed with it.

Plus I'm a writer for USEB now.

Ah ok then

Well everyone, welcome to Polling day where kiwis all over NZ will be choosing the direction our country will take over the next 3 years. Here's where I voted today,

and unlike the US there were no queues. I heard on the radio that the Wellington central polling booth at the Michael Fowler Centre is expected to be the largest in NZ recieving over 5500 votes before 7pm.

Our politicians have certainly failed to raise the interest of the public in the way the US presidential candidates have, but I hope there will be a good turn-out regardless. If you are eligible, make sure you vote. I believe you can enroll today if you haven't already so it's not too late.

Please share any Polling days stories you have but remember that it is ILLEGAL to campaign on Polling day so no promotion of Parties or Candidates please. We don't want our thread in trouble with Laffen...

Laffen probably didn't know it was illegal until you said that.

Just voted at my old primary school. I was surprised that no photo ID was needed at all. I just walked in and they asked if I was me, I said yes and then I voted.

Excuse my untidy handwriting. It was hard to write on the upright board.

so guys, what NZ like for a holiday?

whens best time to come and best area?

thanks
PK

Posted by yea g
Auckland is the erm busiest place here, but there are plenty of tourist attractions scattered around (eg rotorua). December over here=summer, so yea, I guess it will be a bit warmer (maybe)

Posted by Muhammad-Oli
Definitely come in Summer mate, and to be honest I couldn't pick the best area. I'd say hire a car and make a road trip around the country! Make sure you at least see some of the South Island though (most people just go to the North Island).

Posted by PeterKay
are there any mosques?

and what are the prices like compared to uk?

Posted by Muhammad-Oli
There are Mosques in the main cities, I believe. I'm sure there's a New Zealand Muslim website that you could have a look at.

The prices I think are generally cheaper or about the same as the UK. I know things like petrol and groceries are certainly cheaper here.

Posted by PeterKay
great stuff, how longs the trip! any ideas?

I don't think most people fly direct, but usually its 12 hours to Singapore (common stop-over), and then another 12 hours to NZ.

Posted by PeterKay

thats a huge trip lol

cheers guys

Posted by PeterKay

Some of those don't look like New Zealand, but a few are. I've definitely seen a few in Christchurch where I live.

Posted by PeterKay
be sure to post some pics for me if u can?

Posted by Muhammad-Oli
I found this website. Canterbury is the province that Christchurch is in. That website could be useful cause it has a forum.

^^That is Christchurch Mosque.

Posted by PeterKay
Thats just beautiful

Thanks Oli

and will check the web link now.

Posted by Muhammad-Oli
Ah, this is probably more helpful!

Posted by PeterKay
thanks matey, plenty of mosques (Alhamdulillah) All praise is due to Allah.

This page is very clear and easy to understand from your link:

http://www.sama.co.nz/About%20Islam.htm

Posted by Muhammad-Oli
That's really interesting. I must admit I haven't known a lot about Islam before.

That's the same Mosque in the snow. Thought I'd just add that in!

Posted by PeterKay
so when does it snow?

what months!

Posted by Muhammad-Oli
Very occasionally and not in huge loads in my city... Maybe once or twice a year. But the further south you go, the more snow you'll find. The North Island doesn't get very much snow as far as I know. Oh and New Zealand is well known for its ski-fields if you're into that!

Anyway, it snows in June, July and August which is our winter. Your best bet would be July I guess! But the weather is funny, there was a report on the news earlier this week of snow down south, and we're just about to hit Summer!

Posted by PeterKay
can't be as bad as the UK

we get snow anytime it seems lol

Posted by yea g
And here in auckland it never snows

Posted by Muhammad-Oli
Haha yeah, I think I experienced a bit of snow when I was in London. Not sure though... But the weather was definitely bad!

@yea g: have you ever seen snow?

Posted by yea g
Yea I have been down south of the north island a few times, but never to the south island

Posted by Muhammad-Oli
Oh right. I've been all over the South, but not much in the north. Mostly Wellington. And Auckland airport once!

Posted by PeterKay
Kiddies love the snow

they wish it snows everyday lol

Posted by Muhammad-Oli
Isn't that right yea g?

We don't get to see those ads. Have they been uploaded to You-tube? Could you post a link perhaps?

I see Winston's gone.

This National Govt is going to be even better than I hoped for. It's unbelievable how arrogant Labour continue to be, Annette King is just despicable. Phil Goff may be the front runner for the leader's position but I doubt he wants it. Let's face it, the position of Labour leader is a hospital pass for whoever takes it up. National have been handed a mandate for change and barring major calamity, the public will give them a second term to finish the job. Every govt gets a second term, a third is hard to come by.

Labour have alot of rebuilding to do and no amount of glossing over it can hide the truth. Key bringing the Maori party into the fold could kill off Maori support of Labour if handled well and serve as a template for other ethnic based parties wanting to work with a National led government. If it works, Labour could lose alot of crucial South and East Auckland support.

I think Mike Williams should go, he is a liability frankly. Its funny watching the Leftists running round trying to explain away this political anomoly as a temporary thing and Labour as being finely poised to swoop down on an evil, fear inducing National party... what utter tripe!

Posted by Muhammad-Oli
Well the way you put it makes it seem a lot better. Too be completely honest, I don't have a huge problem with National being in goverment, I just really really don't like Mr. John Key!

Haha I can't get over last night in Playtime. I needed 12 points from 4 Playtimes just to equal PK and force a play-off for the C902. That means I needed to win maximum points in all 4 Playtimes.

And I very nearly did it. I got 3 points in the first three, and missed out on it by one single post in the final Playtime!

I am happy with my T250i prize.

Posted by carkitter

You won the T250? Wow!
TBH, I haven't been following playtme at all.

I guess that explains the avatar, I thought it was a Quantum of Solace C902 (doh! for typing Casino Royale )

Well done!
