I used to work for Orange retail.....have to say its the worst network to work for.
Carphonewarehouse are a millions times better to work for as company: more money and excellent staff insentives.

CPW pay nothing like i get paid, i understand their incentives are quite good. but if your a salesman at heart surely commission is a good enough incentive?
i can boost my monthly pay by £1k if i sell my arse off!

I can say i've worked for both CPW and Orange and i easily earned more in commission in CPW ...Orange just sells their own branded phones whereas CPW sells all networks so i.e: more money making potential.
CPW is also better organised as a company...Orange has a lot of HR issues.

everything you sell the shop makes margin on and you make a certain percent of that margin depending on how well your store did in mystery shops!
so you really have to work together as a team!
margin for one handset can range anywhere from £30 to £300 depending on extras etc.
commission is anywhere for 4 to 10% of the above sum.
i cant say anything on the HR issues Axxxr. my bollox would be on the line. ive heard differring reports on CPW. i think it depends on what shop you work in, there are 2 local to me, 1 is rammed all day every day and t'other is dead all day every day!

Well im going to say is that if you want to go into this line of work miss is that ..from what i have learnt from experience and knowledge is that if you want to make a career in the mobile industry then CPW is the best option for you.

Axxxr, im staying where i am for the time being as being the person i am, i know a lot about phnoes and hopefully one day will get recognised as such and be oput forward for training people and trialling new products.
id also like to go technical and work on the "network" where CPW cant do that for me!
in Orange i can change my career yet in CPW its all sales.
