Don't forget to turn the clock back tonight.
Posted by Bonovox
I always wondered why here is one of the few places to do this?? My dad said it was something to do with for extra light in summertime during the war for farmers to grow their crops. I don't get that cos weather you turn them forward back or not it's still gonna be light or dark

still have two old contracts, both sim-only's, with FUP, so I'm not renewing my contract, when I need another phone, I'll buy it, like I did with those I use now
Posted by hihihans
There is no Unlimited anymore
Posted by Marly
Yes, that's exactly why I keep my old contracts (1 x KPN, 1 x Vodafone), even though both are expired, so I could've renewed with a new phone, but I'd rather keep the old, better conditions and buy a new phone.
Of course, now the contracts are expired, KPN and/or Voda can change my conditions, but they haven't done yet and when they do, they'll have to let me know, then I'll see, what I'll do. But they probably won't change anything soon, I once had the KPN number with expired contract for almost 2 years, bedfore I found it interesting enough, to renew it. All of this time, I've never heard anything of them and the conditions stayed the same.
Posted by hihihans
indeed they do have to let you know when they change conditions. It would be silly for me to keep the contract I have and buy a new phone. It used to be cheaper to have a free phone with contract but now its even.
Posted by Marly
You've probably got your Aino with this contract ? So, after two years you've paid off the phone and without renewing the contract, you'd still be paying for it, that wouldn't make any sense
But my two contracts are sim-only.

Contract system is a way to keep a customer tied to you for a period of time.
You could introduce it in India.
> Customer pays you 10 every month.
> You commit yourself to solve his problem in 24 hours, free of charge.
> or he pays 3 a month and you solve it in 24 hours and he only needs to pay for the parts you need to replace.
For phones it's:
> You sign for 2 years to pay 30 monthly.
> You get 150 minutes/texts 300MB Data every month.
> Free phone. like minipro, wildfire S, or pay 100 extra and get neo, pro.
edit: this contract without a phone would cost 20
So you pay 24 times 10 = 240 for that phone. get it?

Just was reading that the name of the new Nokia ... Lumia ... means in spanish a prostitute
(Dutch) http://www.portablegear.nl/ni[....]/Lumia:_prostituee_of_niet.htm
(English) http://www.theinquirer.net/in[....]means-prostitute-spanish-slang

Hans, are you renewing your contract online or in a shop ? In the Lumia 800 thread on tweakers.net they're saying now, that the black one will be available first and the cyan version, which seems to be very popular, comes later, around 28 nov.: http://gathering.tweakers.net/forum/list_messages/1478024/last

Adnan, thats good for you that you're working with government body.
Hans thanks for the explanation. But it will take some time to understand for me.
Posted by hihihans
I haven't decided yet where to get it. For now I still want cyan and if that takes 10 more days, no problem. I had to wait an extra month for my white Aino.
I think Tweakers is a messy forum. I can find what I need but everytime it takes a while to get to the subject.
Posted by ceaser2008
Hans, best of luck with your choice friend.
Just give you an idea how calls are cheaper in India. My monthly talktime is around 5.30 hrs. And guess how much i am paying for that... around Rs. 90 (around 1 pound) with Rs.80 extra for my every call to be charged half rate for once in every 3 months.
Hans, suppose in middle of a contract, you are fed up with your operator with its service or any other reason, would you be able to change your provider without changing your number??? what about contract then??? Keeping in mind, your number is business number and you cannot afford to stop it otherwise you would loose valuable clients.
Posted by Bonovox
Ceaser you would have to buy yourself out of the contract. How ever many remaining months there is remaining on the agreed contract you would have to pay it all up front in order to get out of it. Not sure if you can keep your number that way though.
