my query of decent leather case has not yet been answered i'll try to look around in manila hope i can come across something good that will hold and protect the phone. i wasn't luck getting a good case here in Khobar/Dammam, Saudi.

one quick query, i noticed that using the video recording under 3gp format after 10mins or more..its recording well. However when you play the captured vid it stopped after reaching 10mins or more but the audio is ongoing but the vid freezes? is this usual?

Some updates on the mobile scene in Kuwait and a few questions.
Recently I went mobile shopping in the usual hot spots here and I have some news to report:
P990 can be had for 190 KD (or lower) brand new in box, or between 160 - 175 KD used in mint condition (I saw 3 that were barely used).
W950i is selling at around 100 KD approx; depending on your negotiation skills you might be able to get some wiggle room on the price.
I was able to get M600i for 40 KD
New phones:
Cheapest place to purchase the P990 is the Sony store at the Sharq Mall. When everyone was selling for 250 KD, they had it for 230, now I believe it retails for 210 approx.
M600i is between 125 ~ 130 KD
If you need pricing information for Kuwait, just ask and I'll try to find it for you.
Now, if anyone is in Kuwait -- can you tell me if there is any known issue with Wataniya and their data service? On my phone, I can browse the web using GPRS; but any other activity is dead in the water -- including checking emails.
Also -- in other news; the government recently approved licensing for a third mobile operator (name yet to be announced). Initially, the company will be owned partly by the govt and Kuwaiti shareholders; with the remaining available for foreign investors.

W850 is better than the W900:

If it was my money, between the W850 and W900, I would definately get the W850.

Hello Mates! hope everyone has a good year start.
Im back in my work place from a month vacation from Philippines.
Was surprise to see the price drop of P990i to 2,100plus in Carrefour 2nights back - i think its under a promo price. Felt bad when there is a price drop of the precious P990i.
during my vacation i manage to acquire a capdase leather casing also which is not readily available in KSA. Not much of the brando case but good enough to hold the unit. You can check reference picture in casing link.
Has everyone updated their FW? my system is still r7A with r3B01 organizer & CDA r3B01. is the FW update good?

I am curios about buying an used mobile from souq.com but I am not sure if the persons there are to trust.
Whats your experience with souq.com?
I believe that the better grades, the better recommendation the securer the transaction.
Any help is appreciated since I live in Norway, and there are some mobilephones that are avalaible at souq.

I think its time we do do it. I hate that in Egypt for example the prices are like 30% more than dubai, where as nokia's only like 10% more and that's probably due to higher customs. Then the price stays high and doesn't go down a little every month or two.

@mustafa - so far the 6290 is nowhere in the uae market. you can check www.jumbocorp.com, www.aptecmobiles.com and www.axiomtelecom.com for mobile stores in dubai. aptec usually updates their site asap. hope this helps on your wait for that specific phone...
anyways, just in case if anyone here in dubai is interested with a brand new/unused k550i with cellucom warranty, you can pm me. price is muuuccch cheaper than the shops. thanks

KanKon's link points to the
developer's page for the P1 and it says it will come with an Arabic Keyboard, no sense in doing that if it won't support arabic.
