That happens when you're out of range of a network or there is no reply from the server.
Posted by rajasekharan_v

Beats me...

Could be the network limitation, but, as was said above, is just a thought. It IS most probably the server not replying. Try after some time or a day later or when the GPRS speed is good. I'm on Hutch too, have faced this problem a few times. NOTHING WRONG WITH THE PHONE. Don't worry. _________________ Gravitation can not be held responsible for people falling in love- Einstein.

Did you define the connection through which the browser connects to the net? Hutch gprs in your case. I think. Access point to be precise.

pls post your email account settings too..that may be helpful in understanding the prblem
Posted by rajasekharan_v
The email account settings ? . . I dont have a clue of where it is in my phone
Posted by whizkidd
Btw you have full gprs account?
Posted by k4m!k4ze
@rajsekar - Yours is a Rs 99 package which means wap ONLY ! and for using webviewer, you need full web gprs because webviewer browses html pages and not wap pages
Posted by rajasekharan_v
I guess i am having it . . . Rs 99 . . Package . . . My friend uses the same too . . He is able to download heavier files though
Posted by rajasekharan_v
Ok ok . . . Ya . . That might be the problem . . . Leave that . . . What about my initial problem . . Unable to download files more than 300 kb
Posted by rajasekharan_v
By the way . . . I am able to browse some of the html pages through my built in browser too .
Posted by k4m!k4ze
may be those pages were optimised for wap like esato's html lite page - mobile.esato.com
Maybe the k700 itself has a restriction on the file size
Posted by rajasekharan_v
May be you are right . . . .
Posted by k4m!k4ze
I had this problem once when i tried to download a 500 kb game file from airtel's wap site
Posted by rajasekharan_v
How did you solve it
. . . Guys please help me

Change one thing first of all- the proxy port number is 9401 and NOT 9410 as you state in your posts above. Now try downloading. Do not change this port number back if you're still unable to download heavier files- the port number is specified by Hutch.
If that doesn't help, change the internet mode to HTML instead of WAP. If things don't work, change it back to WAP and start disturbing the Customer Care folks. Also email them at care@hutchindia.com, giving your problem in detail and your mobile number.
Posted by rajasekharan_v
Yes . . I have tried changing to http . . But my built in browser could not connect . . Changed the proxy number too . . Will try with the http thing when i have a good connection speed too if you want . . . But right now nothing seems to be working for me
Posted by whizkidd
Seems you're passing through a really bad phase of your life.
Posted by rajasekharan_v
Ya . .
Posted by rajasekharan_v
have some one faced this problem of mine with a rs 99 connection ...or is it the limitation of rs 99..... i contacted the hutch dept. they said that it might be the limitation of the mobile...is it true?....is my phone capable of downloading files only up to 310kb........guys please put some clues.............
Posted by whizkidd
Its something with the connection imho.
Posted by jainshubhanyu
I may be a bit incoherent here, but hope I drive my point through.
I think you said somewhere that friends did not have any problem. Do one thing- put your friend's SIM in your phone and check. This will check two things- that your phone is working alright or it is the network at fault.
Also, download from your number what your friends have downloaded, both from your own number and their SIM in your phone. This will check that the links you were downloading worked or not.
Posted by jainshubhanyu
If you are able to download what your friends do easily and without problems using your own number, then this means that the links you use are faulty. If you are able to download what friends do and all thing else using their number, then this means that THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE PHONE but with your subscription- start disturbing and emailing. Hope you're understanding what I'm wanting you to do...

my t230 cant download the 50kB games off the sony ericsson website.... gets half way but then has the same error as the guy in the fist post. I am on optus in australia.
Maybe just GPRS conjestion?
Posted by rajasekharan_v
Ok . . Half way is not a problem . . . Its only the network traffic issue . . . Give it a try when you are having full speed in your mobile . . It will work
Posted by jainshubhanyu
Can't download on any given day or at specific times? Specific times implies network congestion. Any given time implies one of two things- network is limiting download size (the call centre guys won't admit to it) or something wrong with the phone.
But the way the error goes, it is more of a communication error than a request too large type error..tilted more towards the network..
Posted by dopeydavoid
ok i will try on sunday morning or something when no one is useing it.
Posted by whizkidd
My t230 has downloaded stuff over 75kb without problems!
