K700i o2 email - Esato archive

Hiya

I was wondering if anyone can help - I have the K700i that won't allow me to use the email - it keeps saying finding server and then connection failed, I have used the Sony site to send the details to my phone which came through but still have the same message, I am on PAYG the one with 300 free texts a month

i have same problem..

downloaded WAP & EMAIL settings from sony ericsson site
can browse web from phone but can't use email
always get the 'finding server' error when sending an email (!?!)
my ISP is PIPEX UK

any help appreciated, thanks.

Ah not just me then, als same problem. There is a 700c I notice, what's the difference. Are there 2 different versions of the 700i ?

Try putting the ip of the pop3 and smtp servers in your email settings if you are using o2 pay and go. Instead of mail.o2.co.uk for both servers, try 193.113.160.13 for both. Works for me, isn't free though, but very cheap to use. Wont let you send/receive if credits too low. Hope this helps.

want to be able to read my PIPEX mail not use a new O2 email address

is this possible on PAYG or just contract?
