Before I start pulling out non-existant hair from my bald head I'd like to know if this incredible feat has been achieved by anyone around here.
Posted by govigov
forget it. i have tried almost everything. just wont damn work
Posted by brix25
Wonder if anyone from Google reads these posts from frustrated K700 users who just happen to be Gmail subscribers.
Posted by govigov
yeah, lets hope the next fw upgrade fixes it,

i just accesss gmail using opera at http://theplacforitall.com/gmail-lite
Posted by govigov
Thank you greggy, we are talking about k700 and its built in email client. You must have been mistaken.

Used wap.gmailwireless.com for about a month until the site gave me problems..."this site cannot be accessed"...so yeah that's my story.
Posted by clank
Even i use the site greggy mentioned...works cool with k7's default browser as well coz its html-lite. Very nice site...

Still no one with working gmail?
I also tried everything... The best I got is "Server found" message which lasts forever...
My settings are:
Connect using: GPRS profile (not WAP!)
Protocol: POP3
Incoming server: pop.gmail.com
Incoming port: 995
Encryption:
Incoming - TLS/SSL, domain: pop.gmail.com
Outgoing - TLS/SSL, domain: smtp.gmail.com
Mailbox: XXXXX@gmail.com
Password: XXXXX
Outgoing server: smtp.gmail.com
Outgoing port: 587
Email address: XXXXX@gmail.com
other settings don't matter.
I tried different domains, but pop.gmail.com is the only one without TLS/SSL error.
If I had any logs in my phone...
BTW my other mailboxes with SSL encryption work fine both POP and SMTP.

The same with me I sent an email to gmal team and they told me that they're improving their services so I have to wait
Posted by aelso
I tried all those settings, and looks like it is working, but the "Recieving emails" message is taking ages

As of now unless your phone have SSL you will not be able to access Gmail server. My carrier (Tmobile USA) offer free POP3 service so I'm going thru their server, work greats. See if your carrier offer anything similar.

in my k700 it says server found......but thats it.....

forward your gmail messages to a hotmail account which you use just for the phone access, then access the hotmail.

Pardon me, but is it very stupid to use non-official gateways to log in your email accounts, providing your username and password to this website may just make your g-mail address disappear someday
Posted by JukurenvengeX5
Oh, depending on what you are on with (Network) it may be different. I emailed Vodafone a few weeks back, and they suggested that for now, all you could have access to was..Vlive Mail....

only message i got is: server found ...
Posted by KhoolhandZ
I'm able to read my gmail email's on my P910 using the built-in email client.
It really is simple, you canNOT access pop.gmail.com from your phone. What you have to do is to set up a yahoo account. You can access pop.mail.yahoo.com from your phone.
Forward all emails to your yahoomail, then access ur yahoomail thru your phone, voila! Now you can read ur gmail emails thru yahoo pop server!

Here's a link. http://help.yahoo.com/help/ca/mail/pop/pop-02.html

Whoooops, I guess the Yahoo! Delivers free pop access is only available to canadian email yahoo.ca clients only.

Does anyone know whether o2 pop3 is free?
Posted by himlims_nl
i think this topic is related to gmail; not to yahoo/vodafone/hotmail/o2

Hi guys,
I'm new to this forum, just wanted to join the lively discussion being a K7 owner interested in gmail on it. Just tried gmail settings, thanks to mb-new who shared the settings.
Just wanted to let you in on a new development. I entered the settings yesterday, and like you all it kept displaying "server found" and then nothing happened. Well today, after saying "server found", it displayed "sending email" then after a while said " sending failed", would that signify anything?
Posted by blunden
I get a "TSL/SSL unsupported certificate error". What is wrong?
The settings I have is (being translated from swedish):
Connect with: Telia Online (GPRS account)
Protocol: POP3
Incomming server: pop.gmail.com
Incomming port: 995
Encryption: TLS/SSL (Domain inc: pop.gmail.com, domain out: smpt.gmail.com)
Mailbox: xxxx@gmail.com
Password: *******
Outgoing server: smpt.gmail.com
Outgoing port: 465
E-mail address: xxxx@gmail.com

Yep, Gmail doesn't yet support SE phones. Some on here claim to have it working but you'd have to flash to a specific firmware.
Posted by c_vignesh
In my K700i...i dont have enough characters to enter my mailbox name (actually it is 35 characters)...and i cant enter my full mail box name
Posted by blunden
@brix25: Are you sure? Why would only some firmwares work?
Posted by sailaab
So 'Mahora' has by far been some distance here !
I have NOT yet found any SE fix for Gmail. Anyone ?
Even the Java App for Gmail threads and sourceforce.net have given little headway . . .

check gmail using RSS atom feed. enter URL https://gmail.google.com/gmail/feed/atom in the rss feed reader.
for this u need to have a RSS feed reader/aggregator like RSS orbit(J2ME). did anyone try this on phone. I dont have a GPRS connections still...
May be some one can try this...
