Works with k700i, z1010, s700i:

1. Go to Menu
2. Select Connectivity
3. Go to Internet Settings
4. Select Internet Profiles
5. Choose your default profile (e.g. smartgprs) and press More
6. Select Advanced
7. Choose Change Homepage
8. In the Address option replace the default with "smsto:"
9. Press Save

When you press the online button, you go directly to Write New Message. (Same as "mailto:" configuration with the x6xx series but with no additional space tab)

Note: if you use "mailto:" instead of "smsto:" with these new phones, you will open Write New e-mail.

Hope this helps...

I guess in t230 you've to type mailto:

Posted by phsychomantis
U can also use mailto: as a address in bookmarks and when you select the bookmark it will take u 2 write sms menu.

Posted by haris_el
dows anyone know if it works with p900??

@Louie Talan

What is the purpose of this trick?
We already have a shortcut for typing new sms by the way... and this trick make it longer than a shortcut and you lose your homepage instead.

Posted by whizkidd
Its a trick anyway, why bother whether its useful or not? :-D

Posted by phsychomantis
@rifqi_aziz if you save mailto: as a bookmark you can send sms without exiting wap.

Posted by niranjan007
Is their a way to change the target to mms or sms inbox?

Posted by dancingfate
@phsychomantis
That's useful.
This is what I want.

@Louie Talan
Thanks. Forgive me for underestimated you before.

Nice trick, but if you have a s700i, k700i, z1010 (at least) you can set up a shortcut to do the same thing.

shall i ask again???

How does it work with p900?

Posted by amnesia
lol, I dont have my p910 switched on but why dont you try it yourself.

If someone does know if this works it would be helpful for p900 users.

well it does not work with p900 , that's why i am asking...
It will be usefull to get an extra key, as i do not use the niternet on the mobile

You appear to have answered your own question then, Mr Invisible...

Posted by haris_el
ok
do you know if i can do something else for p900 with this button?
for example activate bluetooth, or anything else?

I hope i will not be casper the goast again

Posted by dave_uk
Yup, there are a number of programs that will allow you to map keys, which is what you're asking: Magic Launcher, Key Mapper, Tracker, SMan etc. Have a look on www.my-symbian.com, Casper
