Just because theres higher spec technology available, it does not mean it can be put into phones straight away.
Humans have now been to the moon, but you dont see NASA selling rockets in shops, do you ?

Hi,
Why do people keep saying its 1.8 megapixel, when it is actually 2mp??
1632x1224 = 1997568 !!
Cheers,

@numb, good points, and of course I support employers banning phones of any kind let alone Camera phones. It doesn't stop with cam phones. Small cameras, silent cameras without phones all exist which can be used to take covert pictures. And as you say, cams are banned in many places already, so why the issue? I've got no problem with cameras being banned for specific situations.
"Enforcing cameranoise (in some countrys by law) is actually a way to try and prevent a direct general ban on cameraphones. You can have it either way, total ban on cameraphones in many situations where youd still like your phone available, or cameranoise, take your pick."
Excellent point, I agree. I guess it just comes down to the KSHHHSHLAAACCKKK sound of the K700i, (which would solve the zoom problem because it's so loud!!!)
But regarding photography, I am interested in camera phones because it means I always have a camera on me. I have hundreds of nature and bird shots taken with my phone, which I simply wouldn't have if I had to carry a dedicated camera around with me everywhere.
By candid I meant that the people know I am taking photos (and I'm talking about family BBQ's, not public beaches), but the crappy K700 noise is very distracting, people laugh or make funny looks, and it often destroys the spontaneity of the situation.
By baby, I mean my niece whose mother (my sister) I may be visiting and therefore not have a camera (other than my phone) with me.
I still maintain that there are many legitimate reasons why someone would want a silent or atleast a much quieter camera sound.
It's sad that perverts make it an issue really.

Here is a link of some videos of K750i from Cebit made by a norwegian website www.dintelefon.net:

I see your points, and yes there could be lots of situations where a cameraphone can come in handy, because one doesnt have ones regular camera around as much as ones phone. Im also convinced that 90% of those that dont like the camerasound dont have faul plans, but simply find the camerasound annoying. And Im also completely convinced that you are amongst those 90%
I dont like the camerasound either, I dont want it either, but Ive just come to accept it for reasons I find more important than my own personal ones. And I find that many of those hardcore camerasound haters that blame SE etc. simply cant see the bigger picture.
Best thing would be if we were able to turn it off, if thats not possible for reasons known, then secondbest is they incorporate a nicer sound that doesnt make us feel stupid when we take a picture.
Basically I think we agree max

Guys check out these pics from cebit:

Note: Check the first pic... it appears Tmob will have two editions of the D750. One will be a silver K750 and the other a silver W800! What do you think?
Posted by Yanosh94
Your right we recognized easily a K750 and a W800 in silver edition and i hope it's not reserved for T-Mobile because in France we haven't T for Network and because i prefer debrandee phone. in seconde pics i view the ridiculous screensize of k750 compared with the enormous screen of S700
Posted by numnums
the K750 comes with something called VideoDJ™ -- will there be software on the CD that can convert your existing video files to the right dimensions and file size (bit rate, sound, etc.)?
Posted by numb
no, VideoDJ is a small applikation on the phone that lets you cut and combine videoclips and pictures
to create video for the phone on your computer you need to buy 3gp/mp4 converter software.
Posted by numnums
no prob. looks like my quicktime pro will do it!
thanks.

The White Paper for k750i is available.

According to the White Paper:
The phone has Bluetooth 2.0 (still 10 meters only)
Data Transmission speed is upto 600 kbps
Headset has to be plugged in to listen to the radio (same like k700i)
The camera is able to take the pictures in the following resolutions:
Small: 160x120 (QQVGA)
Medium: 640x480 (VGA)
Large: 1632x1224 (2 Megapixel)

The current operator is Vodafone Germany. It's a red coloured theme installed.

Nice pics there Laffen. I wonder if you could write a little review of K750 (talking about building quality, and overall feeling of the phone (keypad, menu structure)....
I'd love to go a little beyond "visual" judgements, but I'd appreciate a person who has actually had a chance to see and use the phone to do it.
Thanks in advance
(posting a link of a good review would also do the job...)

Why does the w800 have better picture quality then the k750i??
The k600 has really crap quality, and the other two aint quite what i expected!
Posted by Arne Anka
It seem K750 autofocus is not properly used (the picture is slightly blurred compared to W800). Beside, it was stated on the page that those were taken by prototypes and hence are subject for improvements.

@sheri:
I have to say that I found the pic quality of both W800 and K750 really good!
Maybe the slight difference you are noticing (I am not...) is due to some small technical differences. Don't forget that W800 is marketed like a music phone, while K750 is marketed as image phone. Maybe lens are placed differently or encoding is slightly better on the K750. Who knows?
Anyway, why are you so strongly disappointed by the pics? I think they are also huge, rezising them would also reduce dramatically imperfections seen on the ones on the page.
As for the 1.3MP pic... If you are going to send it to another phone, 1.3MP is just what you need. If you want a performing camera, buy a cybershot
What I mean is that personally I consider all three to be good pics for a phone camera, while the second couple (W800 and K750) are also good for a transfer on PC (the first time since they put cameras in phones... And that, in itself is amazing)
Cheers

Just Called the Sony Ericsson Eshop to find out about launch of the K750, I was told they have no details, then I told them could you add me to a list and call me when you have them in stock, they took my number, then I asked "so you have my number now, when should I expect a call", the end of April, beginning of May I was told
Just read the white paper, noticed that the phone has a Lithium ion+lith polymer battery, is this a new hybrid battery ???

I don't have the specs in front of me right now, but if I recall correctly, K750i, W800i and K600i all use the same battery. And that will be the BST-37

This pic was posted already by my friend Sasha_SE, but nobody noticed it, so here you go again, the black and the gray SE k750:

Hmm the black enn looks nicer then
anyone know if it will fit inside
the Sony Ericsson Case ICE-25???
Posted by babysmile
@miss uk,
according from the broucher from CeBiT 2005 SE said Classic Case ICE-25 will not support in K750 and W800. Instead they design another one called ICE-26. All da phone accept the Active Case IAC-25.. Although i dunno abt tat, but hehe.. Check the book.. Wicked..
Just come back from Hannover Cebit. Very very exciting although i just visited one day.. But.. hey. Won't regret..
Check my spaces I have post some pictures inside it. Enjoy!!

That case is naff
SE better bring a version of the 25 out for the K750i if they ever intend me to buy 1 lol
btw the Classic cas is really trendy looks good clip't to my Jeans with me K700i
Posted by Arne Anka
The Sport Case IAC-25 looks better and is compatible with K750 and W800. Can be attached at the arm, the belt or the bag.

"Do u guys feel tht K750i has a shrinking small screen?
Is it small compared to other SE models like S700, K700i?"
Why is it looked smalled from the picture ? (there is room for the screen to stretch out to the edges)
Due to optic illusion? Or prototypes models doesn't show the correct sizes?
Posted by $hé®îNghÀm3:16
Compared to the s700, yes most phones do. (except p***)
It has the same size screen as the k700 though the reason in my opinion it looks small is because the other two buttons above the ' back and c' are much more spread out which leaves the screen squeezed right to the top.
It looks weird once looking at the k700 or T630/10 but looks normal otherwise.

I suggest you take a look at SE site and compare pictures of K700 and K750 and I think you will see why. Its the design and color combination of K700 that makes its screen look wider. But it is not.

thank you Laffen
hope you have some pics of the silver one

@vegetaleb
I do have pictures of the silver K750i.
