AFAIK the R600 isn´t a real "Ericsson" phone. It's not developed by Ericsson. I think it was developed somewhere in Asia so it might be that company you are referring to.

What do you mean by clunky? I think the R600 looks quite good and it's quite small as well. Almost the same size as my T68.
