My company has implemented this product to make employee mailboxes available via WAP. AT&T and Sprint mobile users using half a dozen different handsets can use this site with no problem. I however, am a VoiceStream/T-Mobile user with a T68i. When I try to access the site the phone reports "unable to display WAP content". I have tried this with other handsets and VoiceStream with the same results. Calls to the two parties result in finger pointing. VoiceStream says NowSpeed is not 100% WAP, NowSpeed says that the VS WAP gateway is not compatible? Who is right? How can I troubleshoot this?

a quick look on the Nowspeed site says "The software works by letting the browser of the mobile device connect to it through a URL. Once the device connects to the NowSpeed server, NowSpeed retrieves the email, calendar and contact data on demand from the Messaging server."
this would indicate Nowspeed may not be 100% WAP as your sp suggested...but the question is can your service provider allow you to retrieve mail from other mail servers?
the dns of your sp may be the problem so investigate what you can and cant do with other pop email as you said others on different sp's have no problem accessing Nowspeed.

As I understand it, the NowSpeed app detects or queries the browser that is accessing it. If it is a "normal" browser, then the app presents the contents of the users mailbox, including contacts and other folders in html format. If it is a WAP browser then the NowSpeed app presents the contents in WML format. No POP protocols are ever involved. What I don't understand with this scenario is what role the APN plays. I would think that the APN is transparently passing data between the browser in the phone and the WAP site. Apparently this is not the case.

Diego, the APN plays the major role. Depending on your network operator, they can define an APN which allow access only to limited sites, such as their own WAP portal. My network operator has three APNs defined: APN=smart1 is for WAP access only (no other protocol allowed), APN=internet is for full internet access (allows POP, SMTP, DNS, MSN, etc.), APN=mms is for multi-media messaging server access only.
In our case we have deployed (in testing) Microsoft's Mobile Information Server, and we were able to access Microsoft Exchange, via our WAP server, no problem.
I have downloaded the software and will give it a go.
