im just wonderin,
if one was browsing esato through wap for say a 15 minute session, how many kilobytes (on average) do you think that would use. because i want to browse esato on wap, you know, just for the experience. and my service provider charges 1.1cents per kb in a 15kb block. and i dont want to get stung with too many gprs fees, any help would be much apreciated.
does html light use up kb more than just wap??

Yes. Use plain wap to save money. Html lite would prove more expensive.

Each wap page on wml is about 1.1kb tops. Html lite can go to about 10kb i think.

Just post a reply. I just exited and started a stopwatch for 15minutes. Will tell you the results. Using ONLY plain wap.

1-2kbs per wap page

And it doesn't matter how long you're on, just how many pages you click. Smiley's bump up the kb a lot considering they start at about 3kb, the animated one's go into double figures.

smileys arent shown on wap

thanks govi,
this is all soundin very pricey for a high school student on PAYG without a job lol
when i got my sim card my service provieder offered 1 months free wap access, but back then i only had a moto E365, it was good but i hear the k700 wap is awesome. if only i waited to activate it GAH

Correction, smileys do come up on wap.

Ok here are Test results, sent = 12609b, recieved = 88292b, time = 15:38. Hope that is what you needed. Used to the max, only wap.

Posted by Davo_169
sent lets say 13kb = 14 cents
recieved 88kb = 97 cents
flagfall = 22cents
around $1.35
this is for weekends, but during the week its 2.2cents per kb

so it works out to be about a $1.50 per 15 minutes, ummmmmm ill have to think about it, maybe on special occasions, like in the middle of english when we are supposed to be watchin "a time to kill"
or during a great night out, ill post my drunkeness in drunk malcs thread, but thats about it from davo on wap
