Seems SE are planning a follow up to the V800 (violetta) called "Vicky". I say this as they are using the same firmware format and it makes sense that vicky could possibly be the Z800i (all in my opinion and i look forward to be proven wrong .......

@gbrooks3

Where did you get your information?

Posted by gbrooks3
A friend of mine told me about Vicky so i had a look for myself on EMMAII and there she was. With developer fw, just like amanda, clara, kristina etc etc

Posted by scotsboyuk
@gbrooks3

Any other news for us?

Posted by gbrooks3
Afraid not. I will post more when i see more, i am looking forward to these new SE models

Posted by Superluminova
Finally, hopfully i will get my signature wish

Posted by Miss UK
What on earth? Somebody explain where all these wimmins names suggest a phone cos im abit bewildered here :-l

Posted by gbrooks3

They are code names, i think the most famous one leaked must be "Layla" aka the P910i. Maybe SE can name one in honour of your good self?

Posted by wapchimp
did you see one called Karin?

Posted by Miss UK
Oh rigght SE must have wimmin onda brain then.. If they name one Kerry let me know :-p

Posted by gbrooks3
@wapchimp
It is not anything new, it has been there for a while now.

Posted by gbrooks3
Just to let people know, the Z800 firmware has been tested on a V800 with all Voda customization gone. Look out for the official release by Setool, very soon.

Posted by govigov
Cool another new phone!

Posted by gbrooks3
@Superluminova

Seems your wish has been granted. The "Vicky" firmware may also clear up some network issues, although that has yet to be seen or tested.

Posted by govigov
Gbrooks really dont look forward for new phones, he just looks forward for new firmwares! :-D (and the lady naming thing reminds me of "gone in 60 seconds") (when there is an elanor, let me know. ;-) )

Posted by gbrooks3
@govigov

Posted by govigov
you will have to pardon me, i could not resist it.

Posted by gbrooks3
You are right though, i am getting to carried away with firmware - this thread is about the Z800. Sorry.

Posted by void*
@gbrooks3

Are we talking about even the navigation icons of the V800 Voda branding getting turned to SE icons with this firmware ?

Posted by gbrooks3
At the moment information is sketchy. The Author of Setool has told me that All traces of voda are gone. As soon as i get a copy i will let you know.

Posted by dontknow
Vicky= SE's own Violetta (V800). Generic SE firmware, standard icons. Works on same hardware. But be aware, its not finished, so not as stable as V800!

Posted by gbrooks3
Thankyou for posting exactly what i have said

I bet it will be more stable than Violetta, The V8 firmware is not exactly "bug free".

Posted by govigov
Watch out for phantom poster.

Posted by vee
@dontknow

so you do know or you don't know? if you don't know, well shame for you and if you do know, please share with us more info?!?

thanks

Posted by gbrooks3
Yes, please share with us. Myself and Vee get our information from the best source.

Posted by dontknow
gbrooks3; I thought you were guessing, and therefore I confirmed. It's an evolution of Violetta's firmware, but with bugs, mostly graphic. Not very exiting, just other firmware/colors. To be presentated with Clara.

Posted by gbrooks3
@dontknow

Yes i have just been informed that this firmware is good, apart from incomplete language packs. Correct?

Posted by giancito
Next SE Z800 is ZARA and SE I500 is IVAN

Posted by gbrooks3
Hello,

Zara is not the Z800, as i have already stated, as well as Dontknow, Vicky is the Z800. Zara and Ivan do not exist on emmaII at least.

Any news regarding something called Hermione?

Can anybody translate Norwegian? From amobil.no:

they translated into this

First at all is it Sony Ericssons new smarttelefon Hermione ", as alerts interest. This do be about be one of so-called PDA - phone along with trykkfølsom display unit and clue , in additions bunch as P900 and P910. This corridor is it however adolescence as do be about be in the target group , and creation shall accordingly believable be feel both cheaper and have additional underholdningsfunksjoner than her predecessor.

Do not try this web translation ever again. I think I understood it better before the translation than after it!

It says:

This time however, its youths that is the targeted group, and the model will be both cheaper (in price that is and have more entertaining functions than its predecessors.

Cool, thanks! And welcome to esato.

Posted by goldenface
Cool, another new handset. No word on when this one will be released though is there?

Posted by whizkidd

Hottest girls in town! Mmmm....looking forward to them!

Posted by peejay
That should be the P200. It has been mentioned as a cancelled project already a few times. Hope it's coming back.

This message was posted from a K500

Well, I am the one that wrote it for amobil, so it wasn't any difficult task to catch the meaning.

I am very excited about Sony Ericsson at the moment. It seems that they are ready to catch up in the competition against Nokia and the other big producers....

Posted by Krubach
I love these pre-release periods. Everyone gets excited with these new phones.I think the PDA one is something similar to Neonode...

Posted by scotsboyuk
@vimse

I would agree with you, 2005 could be SE's year!

They seem to be following a rather sensible strategy by focusing on a particular area at a time e.g. imaging in 2004, music in 2005.

I wonder what their focus for 2006 will be, perhaps gaming or business tools.

Posted by Memzee
Nothing about Hermione on EMMA, also K300i, which is slightly strange.

Posted by vimse
But we -know- that K300i excists from Eldars review and all the pics, so then it has to be EMMA that isn't al up-to-date or? :S

Btw, what's does the characters in EMMA stand for?

Posted by gmn17
What phones are the zara and ivan codenames for?

Posted by whizkidd
Zara and Ivan? Never heard of 'em. Does this mean more phones are in the pipeline? Where did you hear about them?

Posted by druk75
these seem to be like russian nam,es...where'd u get 'em?
r they prototypes or launch ready versions?
