No need to go Singapore so far la, today i went to Ericserve, went to the veli small corner mobile shop just opposite Ericserve, they are selling watersets HBH-30 for RM400, i believe still can bargain 1 la. No warranty....

do u happen to remember the name of the shop?? is it on the same floor as ericserve??? i've a fren dying to get one....doesn't matter if it's waterset or not.....thanx in advance man....
RM400 is cheap oledi....i saw hbh15 (used) being offered on buysell.com.my for RM400....as for the warranty, it doesn't really matter coz there's only limited moving parts on the hbh-30 (unlike a mobile phone which is real complicated)...i'd definitely chance it and go for a waterset...just my 2 cents worth......
ohh...and by the way....good morning folks!!!

shithappens,
i got my MMS working~! cool~~~~~~~~~~~~~
lolz.....
but i checked maxis charges.... 2 cents per packet... what does that mean?? 1 packet mean 1 KB??
Posted by veon18
shithappens: dun remember the shop, but it is a very small shop with a very narrow entrance, with very limited no. of phones for display. It is on the same floor with Ericserve, in fact it is just directly opposite Ericserve. it's a corner shop. I think u can get RM350 if bargain coz I asked Jeffrey and he says they sell at RM350

@veon18
Thanks for the headsup bout the HBH - 30. However, if want to flash the firmware on the headset, how much will Ericserve charge, or will they do it at all? Am thinking whether I should get it in Singapore, at least got Sporean warranty, so can flash firmware and stuff there. Here, no warranty at all, pretty scary.
BTW, do you know where they get the waterset headsets? I mean for so cheap? Stolen from factory or second hand? Parallel import?
Posted by veon18
Tots,
not sure though how they got it, but definitely not 2nd hand, there's a high possibility that those are from singapore. Quite many of the SE watersets handphones here hav 'IDA approved' printed together with the imei sticker at the back. As for the HBH-30, i am not sure, but i assume they are much similar to handphones. But if u find that those are actually stolen directly from the factory, don't buy it coz there's a high chance that the respective headset has not undergone any quality check and hence performance not assured. It goes the same for handphones, that's why i only buy watersets approved by IDA. Have used 9 units of IDA approved T68 and T68i for the past 10 months, no problems encountered yet.
About the cost for flashing, try calling 03-79573922 Ericserve, not sure how much they charge but should be around the same price for flashing hp firmware (around RM25)
Posted by TOts
Veon:
Whoa 9 units of T68i? You handphone shop tauke ar??? Hehee..
Thanks for the replies.
Posted by veon18
Oh, no la, not having 9 units all at once, it's like a buy and sell thing, bought cheap, some1 offered higher price, sell then buy again, no money to buy so many hps at once
Posted by penang
@gilthoniel, it is not promotion. Its their standard selling price without line.

1 packet = 512 bytes
1 kb = 2 packets

It is better to check with Ericserve on how to fix a BT headset before you get one.
If it is like those thread in Europe which said they get a one to one swap, then it is good to get from Ericserve....especially the guys will be more knowledgable then normal phone shop.
Plus, we have saw so many thread with User bringing in a spoiled HBH-15 and ends up with a new HBH-30 (under waranty). tht's the real benefit I saw to get a BT headset with warranty.

fulat,ajack & alex; very happy & nice meeting you guys at ericserve today. What a coincidence! I agree fulat real SE taiko. Cheers.

crap!!! u guys had another gathering @ SE today!!! i tot only alex wuz going up to get some stuff done...din expect the whole lot of ya to turn up...jeez!! should haf gone meself too.....would haf been nice to meet up again and simply just waste time havin coffee and chit chatting.....any photos taken this time??

fellow esato members
am having a discussion with an esato members, just to get some confirmation with u guys
if u have identified a stolen handphone and know the imei code, it is possible to block the phone with that imei to assess any of the networks( well..not in m'sia i guess but is done overseas la). But for bluetooth headset, even if u know it is stolen, it is impossible to block it since the connection is only between the phone and the headset itself coz it does not directly involve any networks, right? Unless the thief is stupid enough to hand the stolen HBH to any service centre and programmed to block it after identifying it's a stolen set la

Posted by shithappens
@veon18: yes!! u r right about stolen handsets overseas....network operators overseas can and will block imei to render the stolen phone useless on the system...however this is not practised in m'sia..not yet anyway...
regarding the question on the
hope i haf helped answer yr questions.....

shithappens,
thanks for ur confirmation, have the same view as u. If a BT headset can be blocked to connect with your SE phone without having physical assess to it, it will be a dread. Can't imagine one day we wake up and find that our MCA-20/25 or even our normal handsfree is blocked from connecting with our phones..hehe
Posted by shithappens
read u loud and clear....now that would be a nightmare.....

@shithappens,
Well, it happens that I'm alone in Ericserve and about to go off but turn out my car battery "kong out" and waiting for AAM to replace it... fulat called and his on his way. So once done, I gone up to Ericserve again to meet up with fulat for lunch and it happens that ajack was there... he later introduce penang to me as well... cool guys. Great to meet you, penang!
Posted by veon18
i so happened to be such bad luck le..for the past a week or 2 i have been going to ericserve almost everyday. But then when i had decided not to go today...4 of u were there...
I am speechless.....

@shithappens - I took a picture of penang with my MCA-25, will post the pic on monday....

err...
imho imei blocking is a waste of time...
any bloke can obtain an aftermarket cable and flash the phone with a brand spanking new imei...
comes back to square one right?
Posted by sindhikid
Hi fellow SE fans!
I gota t68m as a gift few months ago, it looks like a waterset. IDA approved.
I have a few questions / problems, can anyone help?
1. How much does ericserve charge to update the firmware,
will they even do it?
2. How do you convert nokia tones to imy? I used NokToMel and melody composer, maybe did something wrong?
3. I am on maxis, how do u configure MMS settings?
Posted by ajack
@ShawO - Since the A2618 was introduced, the then Ericsson have used a burn once type flash memory (actually only the first 4k is burn once) and the IMEI is stored there. So a change is only possible with a flash chip change and you know the CRC algorithm used.
Posted by ShawO
correct me if i'm wrong but...
i remember there was once a thread here about self-flashing of the t68m->t68i, if you look through it, you'll find that they use that same software to unlock/change the imei of the mobile
Posted by yapliren
@sindhikid
1. RM50
2. Nok2Phone, try search from google.com If I am not wrong should be X?X?X?X?.ringtonecity.com
Posted by shithappens
@sindhikid: welcome to esato m'sian chapter....as to your questions, here's the answer: ericserve will upgrade the firmware but it'll be subject to a RM50 charge per flash coz it's not warrantied in m'sia....suggest u pm ajack on the conversion to nokia tunes to imy...he's the pro.......catch ya later alligator....
Posted by fu|at^t68
sindhikid,
maxis don't have MMS yet for ya info. what we do is we try to path the gateway to another server using maxis GPRS to get the mms message. if u like to set it. get from jeffery in ericserv... a list of details on how to configure MMS to maxis, celcom, timecel, digi.
cheers.....
hey guys.... might get another deal for RM285 for a brand new MCA-25
kekekekek

fulat
if you pay ericserve another visit, mind check out T300 latest price there? Ipoh seem to have so few stock...it is not available again.
I will plan for another one soon
Best is that Ericserve do offer the package tht didn't come with MCA-25 since I already have one.
BTW, on the BT headset special code, if SE want to block it, it could be done on the phone as stolen code can be put into the phone's memory and pairing will fail when those codes were found...of course I don't like this way because if there's a lot of stolen code, this will be a huge amount in bits and bytes...a waste of phone memory to non BT user.
Anyway, all copyright controlled features always have ways to cracked

hi guys..im new to this thread...i just need to know what's the latest firmware available here in m'sia?and i'm in s'wak means i don't know where to upgrade my firmware.anyone here knows?
Posted by fu|at^t68
c96sthl,
previous version of HBH-10, 15 and 20 do have the ability to change the passkey after u paired the device. but however...... if u do a master reset at ya HBH, it will become default which is 0000 again.
ericsson already thought of that before. but they found it's not practical. coz no matter how ya bluetooth headset stolen or missing. if the other one who picked it up and he/she know the trick... he can reset the passkey and start selling it
mal,
go www.sonyericsson.com/my. select the option on ya top browser and u will see a "dealer" there. if i am not mistaken... there is a service center in sarawak
Posted by ShawO
@sindhikid
with regard to question 2
what's wrong with christersson's softwares?
they work like a charm!
well maybe you need a little guide
for basic conversion, use noktoimel
- open Nokia To I-Melody converter
- paste a rttl melody into the upper blank area.
- click convert
- click make
- click save
- Done!
melodycomposer can be used if you like to play around with the tone
- open Melody Composer
- click import
- paste a rttl melody into the upper blank area.
- click import
- now play around with the settings
use the two little arrows at the bottom to scroll through the melody
eg. current note, all notes, insert, bpm, style - click save as
- name your "masterpiece"
- click save
- you're done!
if you find your pc-speaker too soft, choose settings>output>wave to use your pc speakers...
and have fun

This is another hell of a day
ok, here's my advice, if u are thinking of eating thai food....do not come to bangsar thai restaurant, the one beside 'The Roof'
Just last month i went there and i ended up with a cockroach in the fried rice..luckily i managed to see half of it and the other half is hidden underneath the rice
ok, i decided to give them another chance today....i ordered a deep fried squid thinking that however aweful a restaurant is..it won't happen twice...to the same customer...i began chewing the fried squid and then it came to a piece which i am unable to tear apart with my teeth..i took it out and u know how rubber bands nowadays look like squids tentacles?!?! i put it back in my mouth and start to chew on it again, but in vain..i took it out with my fingers and i was amazed of the elasticity of it...it was a rubber band!!
geez....

@mal & sindhikid,
Welcome to Esato - Malaysia!
@sindhikid,
Try http://www.nowmms.com for MMS configuration. Jeffrey got the same set just that you can do it yourself instead getting the trouble to visit them unless you need to get something from Ericserve.
@fulat,
Crazy man .... you've been collecting MCA-25 again? Thought you have one already....

@alex: nah...i'm only kidding....i believe if fulat's gonna give away his collection of mca25, it might as well be tht all of our birthdays fall on tomorrow....hahahahahaha
hey...wat backup software do u use for the t68??? xtndconnect??? or the once from christenssen??
Posted by ajack
@shithappens: I personally use extendsys provided in the package or download the latest from the SE site coz I have too many phones and need something fully tested and support sync to my office Outlook 2000 program....
Posted by macdid
u all know where i can get a connectivity cable other that the genuine se one?it's too expensive
Posted by sindhikid
@ShawO
Problem previously encounter with
1.noktoimel
after clicking on convert, an ERROR is displayed in the length box.
If I was to play this converted tune, it only plays the 1st note on the phone. Don't even bother playing it on the melody composer, it behaves like macro kin of virus.
2.Melody composer
after I pasted the rttl in the box / blank area, the import button next to the cancel button is not shown / lit up. Only if I change the source to E-Melody will the "import" button appear!
Maybe I have done something wrong please advice!!
Okay here is my source of Nokia tones, I tested (composed) it on a 3310 and later send it to a 6100 both work very well!
