Its a pity that SE doesn't have international warranty... I am sooo tempted to pick a W600a up when I visit LA at the end of the year... W600 is soo cute compared to the W800. Plus it has EDGE !
Anyone knows what frequency DiGi's EDGE network runs on? AFAIK, it uses both the 900 MHz and 1800 MHz GSM system. I takut the phone kenot work with DiGi network la... Then I'd mati la since Celcom is definitely out of the question since it only uses 900MHz ...

If you can wait, its better to just wait for the HBH-610. But I do not know when its gonna be available in Malaysia though, as you know we usually get stuff a bit later than places like HK and SG.

be aware that when u buy it from Moto itself at discounted price, your phone will come without box and there will be a word AMBASSADOR engraved at the back to prevent u from selling it in the future...

For R1J firmware, it fixed almost all the bugs which users faced in R1A. Its an impressive bugs fixing jobs.

Mine still R1A and so far the phone is perfect..Never experience any freeze..menu navigation could be faster but so far everything was perfect..so i'm not sure if i wanna go n upgrade the new sofeware..Heard that the new sofeware have bug on the video cam...??

Yes. It restarted once after a heavy usage of GPRS and after i try to access video folder and run a video clip. I think its because of the cache memory been to full to run the video.

digi is running on GSM1800 with EDGE....w600a have GSM850, 1800 and 1900
celcom and maxis have GSM900 and 1800...both of them get GSM1800 after buying timedotcom and tmtouch a few yrs back.
I don't see a reason for w600a not to be functional in GSM1800
cause tht is the purpose for SE to put in tht frequency as tht frequency have no service....although it is not quad band which make it a world phone....but at least you are not having a fully "cacat" phone when you travel from America to Asia/Europe.

No NO No NO No... you see, my logic is that since DiGi is using dual bands, ie the 900 and 1800 bands, there will be areas where they are using ONLY the 900 band and no 1800 band correct? So, in THAT areas the W600 should be cacat right? That is what i meant...

Malaysia gov didn't give them any rights to use spectrum tht is within 900Mhz ler.
so if you use W600 or Z500 and it cacat in digi network....it is only because digi have no network there.
but the chance for this to happen is slowly decreasing since even my wife's hometown which is deep in the jungle of sarawak have digi now......they don't even have maxis yet.

Kuala Lumpur, June 25, 2003 - The Board of Directors of DiGi.Com Berhad ("DiGi") is pleased to announce that its wholly owned subsidiary, DiGi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd, has been allocated an additional 2 X 2 MHz frequency band for the enhancement of the company's cellular GSM service by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission.
DiGi is pleased with this allocation and is currently evaluating the utilisation of this additional frequency in the introduction of a dual band 900 MHz and 1800 MHz GSM system, in line with its ongoing network planning activities.
