@JN, just noticed that thread, thanks !

msm - Had it not that image (Beethoven) been taken with a K750i, I can say that it's the BEST image posted here in this thread - to date! Very nice . . .

@JN, thanks!
Just turned out to be one of those photos where everything just fell into place, its now my wallpaper on phone and desktop

@msm - Having seen those St. Bernards .. me planning to get me one, though my worries is that they are used to live in COOL places, and it's mostly (all year round) HOT (temp) at my end, might lose them due to HEAT stroke if ever What are those small barrels under their chins (tied on their necks) - beer
Another room decor taken with my Motorola A768i-PDA fone:

Today we attended the MCN Road Bike Show at Alexandra Palace, held annually at the palace in Wood Green, north London.
Although we took the trusty Olympus camera with as usual, I took a few snaps with the Nokia 3230's 1.2mp camera and I am quite amazed how well the pics came out, once I beamed them to my PC and scrutinised them in more detail.
This first pic with the 3230 was of Troy Corser's 2005 World Superbike Championship-winning Suzuki GSX-R1000.

@ama - Nice Bikes mate . . . am an avid FAN myself, specially of Mick Doohan who is now retired, with a damaged leg Keep those kind of images coming pal! I never thought too that Nokia 3230 models can take sharp images like that
Posted by Pepi
have to agree with JN here the image looks really sharp
Posted by *Jojo*
Some Nokia fones . . . (sorry, really dark . . .)
Posted by amawanqa
@ JN and Pepi,
Indeed they are sharp, hence my surprise as well from a relatively 'passe' (by today's standards anyway) 1.2mp cameraphone. Have to agree as well...
I have not 'doctored' the pics with Photoshop or anything...what would be the point of this thread if the pics weren't directly from the phone?
I don't suffer any insecurities that would make me feel that the pics I post need to be 'refined' prior to posting.
You can see that the carbon fibre ram air duct in the foreground isn't the 'sharpest', focus-wise.
Will post another pic or two in the near future.
WRT Mick Doohan, yeah what a legend. World champ 94-98. Met one of his arch-rivals of the time,Wayne Rainey, at Donington in 97, when he was managing the Yamaha GP team. A wheelchair did not deter the man's passion for the sport. Sete Gibernau and Norick Abe were in his team back then. Incidently, Mick won (again) that day.
He dominated just as Rossi does nowadays.
Those were the days...with Kevin Schwantz, Gardner, Lawson etc. also in the mix.

@ama - Looks like you are very well versed with your MotorBike history pal, very well said pal ! Also, Max Biaggi was in the 250 cc category back then which later catapulted his career by joining the 500 cc class ! Some big-named-riders now started from the lower ranks, say, from 125 cc class and 250 cc. Though I am not that sure if Rossi started his career by joining the 125 cc group then Any idea when will the 2006 race start mate

xugaa - Where's your post mate
Posted by amawanqa
@ JN,
Firstly, Rossi was in 125's then, and won on that same day as Mick did.
There's a famous pic of Rossi celebrating the win on that July '97 day, which features him up to his usual post-race antics. That year, due to the circuit's locality (very close to neighbouring UK county Nottingham), he climbed on the podium with a Robin Hood-type outfit, complete with bow and arrow etc.
Secondly, the first Moto GP of 2006 is in (probably!) the 'Mecca' of GP racing that is Spain, at the Jerez circuit on 10 April.

Do you have a bike at the moment?
Posted by *Jojo*
@ama - Thanks for the info mate . . . used to have a '94 Yamaha FZR 750cc then a '92 Honda CBR 250cc . . . how about you pal ?
Posted by amawanqa
The second pic is of a road-legal Ducati 999, fully pimped-out and laced with carbon fibre and kevlar here, there and everywhere.
A very fast, expensive superbike, served with generous dollops of bling, topped with go-faster goodies and no bike licence preservatives...
Again, damn good for a 1.2mp phone. The lack of definition on the surrounding barrier 'ropes', front brake and clutch levers and on the Ohlins lower fork stanchions are slight giveaways.
These are the only 2 pics I took with the 3230 at the show. The rest of the pics were taken with our Olympus digital camera, which would thus be inappropriate to post here.
I recently sold my 2-wheeled pride and joy, which was a Kawasaki ZXR750K (RR), which were only built in limited numbers to meet race homologation rules.
Came with a close ratio box, aluminium tank and different compression ratio to the standard version. It also had the race Keihin flat-slide carbs and obligatory single-seat 'race' tailpiece. I never raced the bike, only used it on the road. The uncomprimising race nature of the bike made it a bugger in town and you had to watch out for people 'blipping' the throttle when the bike was parked, as it would flood the engine and then you had a real battle to get the thing running again!
We are in the process of buying property, so the money was needed at this stage, but rest assured I will be eyeing out another superbike during the latter part of 2006...

Saw one of my fave metal bands, Soulfly, at London's Astoria last night.
Taken with the 3230:
Obvious evidence of some 'zooming in' with this pic taken during one of the percussion interludes. Should've taken a pic or two when the lead singer/rhythm guitarist, Max Cavalera, had a solo with the traditional berimbau string instrument. .
Taken with a Panasonic VS6, also using the zoom to an extent:

@amawanqa mate you are great...Soulfly is of my favourite bends, soulfly record few songs with one band from my country Eyesburn(great band),maybe you know for songs Innerspirit and Moses
Soulfly fly high.....
Is Skindred played that night with soulfly?
Posted by amawanqa
@ sasha,
Yes, Skindred did indeed open for Soulfly last night.
Their lead singer also joined Max on the stage for one of the songs.
Always a treat when Max and co perform a few Sepultura classics as well, such as 'Roots Bloody Roots' and 'Chaos AD'.
Yeah I know both songs, but I have to admit that I didn't realise that Eyesburn were form Serbia.
By the way, Soulfly ended the show with 'Eye For An Eye' for the encore. Simply awesome stuff!

Taken today with the P900's basic VGA cam:
Whilst getting a few odds and ends in the local hobby shop, I noticed Ali Mashinchy, who is the UK's no.1 R/C aerobatic pilot, discussing the installation of the two miniature, REAL jet turbines in this colossal Lear Jet model. Half the fuselage is dismantled to gain access to these and all the on-board electronics and pumps.
The two huge wing halves and tailplane are visible in the background.
Posted by *Jojo*
@ama - Nice hobby you got there pal . . . RC planes! Nice picture too . . . what's the half-opened plane being looked at by the two guys on foreground . . . a Space Shuttle
Posted by amawanqa
@ JN,
That's the Lear Jet that I was referring to in my previous post.
Yeah, I try to pursue the hobby, especially with my own-design RC planes, in between motorcycling (as you know... ), esato and the 'net, work and most importantly, spending quality time with the better half.
Posted by *Jojo*
@ama - Doing all those things on an equal pace/time is impossible . . . you should have at least 6 arms, not even Time and Anger Management can do that! As I am on the 'average' spending around half of my day on Esato alone Nice pic though . . . any NEW Bike pics taken with your Nokia 3230? I really like the images that fone produces mate . . . very clear!
Posted by amawanqa
@ JN,
I'll be taking a few more pics with the 3230 over the couple of days, as and when I finally finish my third own-design RC plane.
Still gotta think of a name for the design too...
It is a bit of an art form (which I don't always manage as much as I'd like...) to 'juggle' all the things I mentioned in the previous post... there are many times that I wish I could create a few clones of myself to cope with it all!

Me and my girlfriend taken with my Nokia N70
Posted by *Jojo*
@ama - Yup, yup . . . post some pics of the RC plane you are making mate! How about calling it: Esato On The Run or Esato's Plight !
@ridahz - Lovely couple dude Isn't it that the Nokia N70 is a 1 MP (or more) camfone already? How come the image you've posted is a bit grainy and dark? H m m m, maybe it was brought about by taking the photos indoor and at night?
Posted by Ridahz
Thats standard photo on 2MP matey.
N70 camera was never good enough for me.
I need a phone with a amazing cam.
My GF has a D600 but it got robbed 2hours ago
Posted by *Jojo*
@ridahz - So it's a 2MP one It should be comparable with a K750i and W800i pal ? The D600 is a 2 Mp too right? Looks like you are not satisfied with the images these 2 model-camfones produces with it's cameras dude? My sad feelings goes with your GF's when her D6 was robbed sometime ago . . . that was fast!
