Posted by Bammers
@ miss uk, no one on there? Surely there must be a few people you know??

Posted by scotsboyuk
@meths

Spot on! I already have enough money so I'm not really too concerned with the actual pay, I would rather choose the job that I will be happiest in. Both sound fun, buit I want to choose the one that is best.

@absin

The uniform, as far as I have seen, would consist of a white shirt, blue tie, blue gillete, large yellow badge and black trousers.

what supermarket is that? Tesco?

Har har, i was in Asda earlier, my pal works there, she was making an announcement (they stand near the door and do it) and i ran up behind her and tickled her, she went "good afternoon thankyou for shopping at WOOOOOO!" i was crying with laughter...

@meths

The supermarket job would be in ASDA. I am seriously considering it now, the more I think about it the more I like the idea of making announcements and the badge they get really is very big.

Posted by methylated_spirit
Oh right, i thought Asda uniform was green...the badge is the deal maker, the only badges i have seen that are bigger are the ones in Curry's

Posted by Bammers
Whats with the badge thing?

Posted by scotsboyuk
@Bammers

I like badges.

How many different names are there for Scotland?

There is 'Scotland' of course and Alba, Caledonia, Ecosse and Pictland, but are there any others?

Posted by methylated_spirit
Bonnie Scotland...

Posted by mince-inside
@scotty I knew another weirdo into badges and they used to make their own by shrinking crisp packets under the grill (@meths dont try it you'll only burn your bedsit down)

Where does Scotia fit - is it another name for Scotland or just Scottish?

Posted by methylated_spirit
Scotia is a double glazing company around here...

got an xbox yesterday, its ok but i dont like the controller.

Do you have a blue peter bagde scotty?

Ecosse isn't a name for Scotland, as such, merely the French translation.

Posted by scotsboyuk
@mince

I'm not sure I fully understood that.

@meths

I don't have a Blue Peter badge; I always wanted one of the green ones.

@absin

I am aware of that, but it is a commonly used term for Scotland, hence why I included it.

Posted by methylated_spirit
There was 3 or 4 different blue peter badges wasnt there? What did you have to do to get them? The white one, you got for sending in letters, winning competitions etc, dont know about the others though

Posted by scotsboyuk
@meths

As far as I can remember there was a silver badge and a gold badge as well. I'm not too sure what you had to do to get one of those.

There are three things, which stick in my mind when I think of Blue Peter; lots of animals, sticky backed plastic and 'bring and buy sales'.

Posted by mince-inside
@scotty was a Green Blue Peter badge for getting 'jiggy' with Biddy Baxter on the casting couch?

Posted by methylated_spirit
Have you seen that blonde bit they've got just now? Shes fcuking gorgeous! I will never forget that elephant squeezing out a big poo live on air.

Posted by Superluminova
Blue peter was great, i remember making tracy island out of loo tubes! happy days

and meths your right about that blonde! they weren't that sexy in my day! lol

Posted by scotsboyuk
The craft section always involved the exact same materials; sticky backed plastic, pipe cleaners, a cereal box, toilet roll tubes and blunt scissors that engendered a warning to get help from an adult.

Posted by methylated_spirit
Simple materials, thats the beauty of it.

@meths

Not as such, no. One thing i do find very annoying is the Scottish media's desperation to grab any celebrity and make a Scottish link, its pathetic. According to the papers, Keira Knightly, Ms Dynamite, and Michelle from Big Brother are Scottish...they have one scottish parent, and have probably never even been here. "Scot Keira Knightley, star of Bend It Like Beckham..." you get the idea. Another thing that gets me, is the way the English media mention if someone is Scots every 2 seconds...take the band Travis for example. Its not "Travis have been nominated for 2 brit awards" Its Scottish band Travis..." They dont say "English band Coldplay has been..." they say "Coldplay has been...."
I can feel a "GAAAAH" post coming on...

My 2nd favourite Scottish beach(ish) today

Posted by methylated_spirit
Aye, where is it?

Posted by mince-inside
Lock Morlich
- You can see the 'Gun Barrel' run in the very middle of the pic.

Posted by methylated_spirit
Oh aye, jammin'

Take it you didnt fall off the mountains then? Did you have a good time?

Posted by scotsboyuk
@mince

That looks stunning, what a fantastic place for a holiday! I am rather fond of the countryside, I try to get down there whenever I can and Scotland has some of the best places to visit in the UK, if not the world.

@meths

The most annoying examples of that are when American celebrities come to Scotland the media tries to infer that they are Scottish because their great grandmother's best friend's next door neighbour's pet budgie's first owner's neice's husband's friend who he went fishing with's mother's first boyfriend's aunt's second cousin's wife's dress maker had a granny who was Scottish.

Posted by methylated_spirit
Yes.

Posted by scotsboyuk
@meths

Are you still holidaying at the moment?

Posted by methylated_spirit
I think he means you, mince

Posted by scotsboyuk
@meths

I meant you. I thought you were away on some sort of trip.

Posted by methylated_spirit
Last night, while queuing to pay for petrol, i was behind a man who bought 3 cans of tennents super, a can of HP all day breakfast, a loaf of white bread and a copy of Club magazine. Can you imagine a more pitiful existence?

Posted by Bammers
Sounds like a stress free life to me!

Posted by scotsboyuk
@meths

What is 'Club'? I have a feeling I know what sort of magazine it is, but I thought I would check.
