@engrusaf: The last time I checked (late 2004), POP3 on both Yahoo & Hotmail were available only if you upgraded your free account to a paid subscription. Unless that policy has changed, your answer is, "No".

pop3 hotmail access is available using IzySoft's mail server. Just input your details and use pop3hot.com as the pop3 server name, and you get a 14-day trial. They will email you with details of how to subscribe. It costs about $10 for a year, I think.

Yeah. But the last time i urge to sign up there, it said they were temporarily suspending all new accounts. That was a month ago though.

the problem occurs when the enter the number as you see in the box thing appears. I am not able to see any numbers so can't sign up.

@govigov: You can get a free POP3 account at http://freemail.swissinfo.org. I have one and use it with my P800's email client. Works well too.

@whiz: The URL is a Web page. If you had a P-series or Nokia communicator, both of which have Web browsers, you should be able to signup.

@whiz: Ah, Netfront! That should be able to handle it. I have it installed on my P800 but havent used it yet. My network is taking their time in activating my Internet GPRS account. I'd love some feedback on NetFront. I opened a thread on it recently. See if you can post there.

This one gives you free pop access, and not only that, you can configure the service so you can check your hotmail & yahoo accounts on your own cashette's account.
Plus it gives you a spam payment service or something like that, but isn't the point here.
I've tried the web based service and it does work with the external accounts, it brings all your new mails from different accounts to the same inbox.
BUT i haven't tried it on my k700i, because i'm too lazy about doing any configuration
So give it a try, and post...

Only problem I have with hotpop is they refuse to give me their mailserver IP. My P800 never could connect using mail.hotpop.com, so I had to ditch it. I am very happy at the moment with swissinfo.

edit: succesfully send email from hot pop.
thank god. let me test with a pic to gmail. testing....... sending attacthment.... email send. finally.
edit2: finally. got them to work. since gmail hangs, i have set forwartds from gmail to HotPOP, which delivers it to my phone. i in return will reply thru HotPOP to the recepient. if there is an easier way, pls let me know.

Registration on yourwap is going on Govigov. Try wap.yourwap.com instead of www.yourwap.com. Once you registered than login on www.yourwap.com via your mobile as you might face prob to login thru wap.yourwap.com like me

Nope, just mail.hotpop.com you can find the ip by pinging that server. (I think.)
