This message was posted from a K500

Yes, but that´s actually different.. Say for the sake of argument my first phone was a T610 and i later bought a GH888 just for the hell of it, then the T610 would be first, but the triple-eight oldest, right?
Oh, and my oldest is the GH198 from 1996.

Posted by masseur
well, from one of those other threads... I have my very first NEC 9B - (thats the aussie version as it was called 9A in UK) from 1986

of course, that was analogue so in regards to still working phones

the Nokia 2110 was my first GSM phone from about 1996

though the one I have no longer has the wood effect fascia so I'll post a fresh pic at the weekend

Nokia 5110. I'll post a pic tonite. I'm at the Australian Open Tenns! WOO!

We had one of the original mobile phones in the car, where you had to call the mobile operator to get them to connect the number. You had a call sign and this was well before the days of voice mail.

Either you were in the car or not.

Ring tones: Horn or no horn (very distracting in traffic when you for got to turn it off!)

Funniest story! This was a corded phone and it got caught in the steering wheel on a cord and cut it from the base leaving it hanging from the steering column!

I had the NEC 9B to. I'm sure it's in a box somewhere. Think I went through about 6 of those damned whippy aerials though

I've still got a couple of Nokia 2146s (One2One GSM1800 version of the 2110i) tucked away god knows where. Good phones for their time.

And a Motorola Flare that my mum used to own.

Oldest has to be a Nokia that I can't even remember the name of, it was a triple digit number. Still lurking in a box somewhere in my house.

Oldest one I have left is an Ericsson T28s (that's about 6-7 years old). Sold my GH688 a long time ago already.

Posted by Aivar
The first mobile I got was Ericsson GA 628. It was in January 1998. I got that phone from my employer and after ca 1,5 years I gave it back as I bought a T18s.

But in March 2002 I bought just for fun Ericsson GH 174. It cost ca 0,07 euros. The phone still works

I don't have picture about them, but from web I found GH 174 and GA 628.

Wow! Some really old phones here!

When I was younger and not very flush with money I sold my phones to pay for the next one, so my earliest phone is the Nokia 3210, which at the time was a fantastic upgrade for me from the Phillips C12.

Found these monsters under my bed! Aargh! I've never seen so much dust attached to a phone before (Obviously it was removed to take the photos!)

As shocking as it may seem, they all still worked!

I used to have the same phone....I can't believe you still have yours!..I threw mine out in the rubbish years ago...I believe this was one of the first PAYG phones in the u.k.

It Was a surprisingly good phone for its time...Even with the terrible battery life and minimal features..It was incredibly thin and looked class.

Anyone remember the old Sony that was nicknamed the "mars bar"? Had a partial slide down cover on the keys? How old is that??

Haha, you know that!

I used to have one of them on BT Cellnet PAYG, was called the C12. Tescos were selling them for £20 at the time

The thing was totally unbreakable. Was always slinging it all over the place, stamping on the bastard etc. Fook knows where it's at now but no doubt still in perfect working order.

By the way, did you ever have a dodgy one which had free credit? My mate used to sell moody C12s on BT Cellnet PAYG that reset to £50 credit every time you switched them off and on. Didn't believe it till I bought one

Everyone had one of them phones, and at the time you could top them up with only a card number and expiry date, so everyone was going round high streets picking up store receipts and whacking on £50 credit with some poor mug's card... BT Cellnet were hopeless.

Great company, got a R310 from them.

Posted by knight4led
I had a nokia 2190 back in the day. Same phone as this:
http://www.retrofone.com/product_info.php?products_id=108

quality phone for the time.

I will try to find a pic of the Motorola my family shared circa 1993. It looked like a purse and it was huge. The handset was wired into the bag thing and looked like a normal phone when you picked it up.

Posted by knight4led
Ok, here is an early motorola flip phone that my family shared for a while:

...and here is a Motorola bag phone that used to perform amazingly well...

Posted by Bammers
I had the flip phone, was my first mobile!! Hardly used it as the calls were so expensive and I wasn't working at the time!! That other phone is a monster!!
My old boss had one the phones that looked like a car battery (and weighed as much) with a handset on the top!! Anyone got any pics of those?
