How does the internet tarrif work?(South Africa)

I heard browsing is for free and ONLY when you download files, then it goes to cost.

Just want to make sure

The best option is to call up your operator and them itself.

now a days only wap csd cost expensive, many operators offer gprs packages with different monthly amount or some even offer internet access.

There are two main types of gprs accounts. One is unlimited surfing on a fixed monthly rental. The other is pay as you go. Remember that on pay as you go wap, they normally charge you according to the amount of data transferred. Not only when you download something.

geez, then some guy working for cellc told me a lot of bull$%#

thx for replies.. and must I re-register if I access esato via wap?
cause I just tried to and 'wrong password'

No you don't need a separate registration for wap. Might be some spelling error. Try again. Did you call up your service provider for the wap details?

soz for slow reply.

I checked that it is R10/MB.. I am using contract.

"Data usage will include any information automatically sent or received by your cellphone" : So says the vodacom4me site:p

so I figure that means browsing aswell

Yes. Every kb is counted. If you are a heavy wap user that would be expensive!

On Vodacom it's R10/MB but that offer expires at the end of the month so basically we'll be back to paying R45/MB which would mean the end GPRS wap browsing.

Don't know who still uses CSD because that's way more expensive than GPRS.
