They are relased in Asia.
I bought it at ebay.... It`s a triband phone, so it will work here as well.
But I will keep my SE V800 in back up..never had Motorola before...
But it looks....niiicce

You prolly purchased a test peice or engineering sample, Cause they arent available in AP, just checked. Where is your phone made, check the white sticker under your battery.

Nope, this is the official model.
Just spoke to Motorola`s press senter, and they could confirm it!

Hmmm....possibly my source is mistaken.
Anyhow, you must be very excited! When will you post your review?
Posted by Pallister
I wanna play with it this weekend, and hopefully return with a review next week.....

dont mean to sound bitchy or anything, but if you have the phone, why are all the pics from other forums??
Posted by Pallister
Because i don`t have a digital camera.
I paid $900 including a Bluetooth headset...

Here`S my pictures of the device....

very nice one

First impressions?? Very good, indeed. I have seen some post regarding this device, and some have been negative, and some have been positive.
I guess what it all comes down to, is how you choose to use the device.
For me, this is the perfect pocket pc/phone. The size is perfect, the set up was easy, always connected, browsing the web is a breeze on the beautiful screen in landscape mode. Synchronization smoothless.
The device has all that I need:)
I give it a thumbs up, and I have never owned a Motorola in my life. But I guess being one of the major manufacturers of cellphones, they might be onto something here.
Hopefully the MPx will be launched in Europe soon as well.

I don''t like it... at all....

@Pallister: Please give us more details. What are the Web browser & email client like?
Posted by masseur
it uses microsoft windows mobile for phones so web browsing will be pocket internet explorer and email will be pocket outlook
indeed much the same as you get on the windows mobile for phone device like the i-mate JAM etc etc
windows mobile devices are all much the same just different form factor and slightly different extra installed apps. not surfe what extra this has so that might be interested to hear about

@masseur: Thanks. I was also looking at the i-mate today. Great piece of work. Hope Motorola integrates Windows Mobile in the MPx as neat as i-mate did.

actually, and this is a little off topic I guess, I hope that moto put windows mobile into the V3 form factor. that would do it for me for sure! it would have to have touch screen though so that it was windows mobile for phones and not windows mobile for smartphones (like the i-mate SP3i and orange SPV etc)

I spoke to a friend of someone that works for a PDA magazine (uk, i wont mention which one), they said they wernt that impressed with the model they had, i think it was a pre production model, and said it was try to fit too much in on the keypad. they also said something about the build quality being plasticy and they had doubts about the hinge system. he did say most of them would stick with a P910i instead. and it comes from a reliable source.

I've heard those initial reviews too, and I keep hoping that what eventually ends up in the market is polished and performs better. I just love the form factor & feature specs of this one!

Guy's, can someone please post, what exactly is the processors speed, also, what is the RAM in the final model, does it have EDGE? Does it support VGA? Thanks in advance.

imo its gonna lose a lot to the (dare i say it, yeh i will coz i like it a lot!) Nokia 9500.... And for one main reason... THE KEYPAD/KEYBOARD.
The type of person who wants such a handset will prob b using it to send and recieve emails and type word docs on the go etc and with the 9500 its qwerty keyboard is a good size and laid out superbly whereas from what i can see on the mpx it is like a wave of some type and not in a uniform layout.... This could cause people not to buy it imo but hey ho not all people want a 9500 like phone and i am sure once the adverts in the UK start everyone will want an mpx jus like the d500 and v3 razor!

The feel of the phone is anything but plastic, as someone has mentioned. It looks and feels very solid.
As for the keyboard, I would have to say it works great..
Here are some more pics..
Sorry for the bad pics, they were taken by my girlfriends K700i..

Here is a review I did on the MPx Production version. Very little change from the Prototypes I've used with the exception of voice dialing from a bluetooth headset being supported for the first time on a Pocket PC or Smartphone....(no voice tags before you say SP3i)

i also got mpx recently.. it really sucks.. i have used P800, p900 & p910. & for me MPX cant even come close to PXXX series.
Mainly becouse.
The phone is dam very slow.
It crashes so often
The pocket pc software is not as easy as symbain.
The camera is very bad. not close to P800 also.
No vedio fuction.
the earpeace is not stereo.
Cant answer without opening
The location of stylus is very bad. very difficult to remove & insert
So such easy navigation as jog dial
Battery is very poor, impossible to use by charging once each day.
I really hate it & i am looking to sell it. I used to admire motorola a lot, but this mpx is sure far below from wht i expect from motorola.

The MPx has been out in Malaysia for about almost 2 months already. They are not engineering samples. They are sold by Motorolla here
Posted by OluYom
Well, from the reviews I have read, this is definitely NOT for me. Sounds like something i would regret buying.
@bengalboy: That was some thrashing you gave the MPx at howard, and I quote this very interesting statement: "My Opinion is that the Motorola MpX is the Absolute Best Evidence that Mediocrity was the Product Performance Objective of Motorola's Engineers".
You must have been really disappointed, ey?
