well , some how, i think i can agree with him little bit..
ive got s700, its soooooooooo cooool..
but still, i think its unfinished..
and thats what i think...
1- the software is not stable, and full of bugs, i dont know why
SE hasnt realesed a major update yet.
2- it should support memory stick PRO
3- the device can do more what it does now, i think it needs more option than what it has now...

mm, im waiting SE..

the k700 to is unfinished in that case. it can also have edge, mpp cam and more importantly a mem slot. (it even got provision for one. look under the batt, you will see a metal plate which can be replaced by a mem card. looks like the card option was scrapped at the last minute.)

I know i'll get flamed at for writing this, but the s700 is definitely over powered for its current software, try this : a beetle with a v8.

unfinished? like a beta?

Posted by voda_jon
if this is the case then all phones r un finished... my v800 could do with a slightly better camera and a longer battery and bigger internal memory... oooh an a cup holder would b nice and some frilly decorations for the screen....

I'm waiting SE.....

Still Waiting.... WHERE IS MY FINISHED V800???
No phone is EVER finished in someones mind... there wouldnt b ne need for updates if they added everything into one phone...

I agree with u all the s700 is a great phone but is missing a lot of things because of it s size and most important thing is the symbian and the web access too bad i have it now for one moth and i like it a lot and yesterday i borrowed from a friend the 6630 believe guys except the symbian the s700 is way better better screen better camera the only thing that is good in 6630 camera is the speed

I wouldn't want Symbian on this phone. I had a P800 and P900 and yes they ran Symbian but it's not the be all and end all. They were smart phones and required something a bit more beefy to run on.

The S700 is a camera phone - it's advertised in the UK for example as simply that. The print adverts show photos of it drying on a line. No grand statements about looking at office documents or how fast it goes. Just that it's a phone with a camera. It doesn't need Symbian to do that.

No icon 12 is fine for this unit I reckon.

Ok it is a camera phone but for it big size they could add the symbian more tools to zoom the pictures video full screen

I very much agree with voda_jon, any mobile phone is 'unfinished' when one decides that its features are not sufficient. The solution is very simple, don't buy such a mobile, buy a different mobile, which meets your needs instead.

I understand what the thread starter is saying as some one had said its sorta like what the 7650 was for Nokia its a bit experimental. The design is not really that attractive and in my opinion the phone is too bulky,it doesnt support memory stick duo pro either.I mean yes this phone seems like the best camera phone now until another is released by SE or a competitor with similiar or better specs then we will be all debating about that.
I personally have the K700i and could have gotten the S700i,but I opted to wait as 2005 should be a rather interesting year in terms of revolutionizing the mobile phone industry.

A personal opinion, not a valid basis, from which to make a generalisation.

What is it people want? Would you prefer it to be able to fit in a matchbox or to be stored underneath one of your fingernails? The S700 fits in a pocket; it is able to be held in one hand; it does not significantly increase one's chance of slipping a disc when picking it up nor is it so large that scaffolding is required to operate it.

Why should it? It isn't advertised as a replacement for a dedicated music player or video player.

I find this an incredibly silly comment. If one waits for the perfect mobile to be released, then one will be waiting a very long time indeed. There is always something better just around the corner. If we followed the logic of waiting for something better to come along before we buy something, then no one would ever buy anything.

2003 was a rather interesting year in terms of revolutionising the mobile phone industry, but most people, looking to buy a new mobile, in 2002 didn't opt to wait until 2003. 2009 should be an interesting year in terms of revolutonising the mobile phone industry, will you wait until then?
