use http://theplaceforitall.com/gmail-lite using opera no need to log in every time bookmark loads very quick great way to retrieve atatchments if youve got free gprs but not free pop3

G-Mail will work on any POP3 protocol compatible handset. The P800 & K700i, are both POP3 compatible. You do need to activate it in your gmail settings though.

Your service provider (I know Orange does) should help you setup e-mail on your handset, just make sure you have incoming server details for google, your username and password too.

Server Information
Incoming mail server (POP3): pop.gmail.com
Outgoing mail server (SMTP): smtp.gmail.com

Login Information
User Name: Enter your Gmail username (including '@gmail.com')
Password: Enter your Gmail password

No, it won't - your handset's mail client needs to support SSL/TLS encryption, which is not, I believe, supported in the K700i - unless a recent FW upgrade has fixed this. Anyone?

secure connections are supported by k700i

the thing is gmail doesnt support the k700 - in another thread a member has posted the response from google who advise that pop3 etrieveal is not available yet for sony ericsson mobile phones

Apon further inspection it does look like there's some issues with gmails pop3 stuff right now. I'm even reading people having problems with outlook 2003. Teething problems I guess. Although they have no idea what they're on about regarding that no se phones support e-mail retrieval. It should be possible though, as K700i does support the needed encryptions - if you know what domain to use.

The last couple of days I've also had problems accessing the gmailwireless site... I suspect they may have been shut down by Google.

I would like to use gmail on my k700 too but I get a "TSL/SSL certificate error". What domains should I type in in the SSL settings in the phone?
