Which one do you think is better overal?

I got the D500 and i thinks its miles better than the V3, but from just looking at esato the V3 topic is about 17 pages and the D500 is only like 7.

I no a lot of Pxxx users have got the V3 as a second phone but the D500 is about the same size and has better specs.

So people which one do u thing is better overall?

D500, that huge internal memory

IMO the D500 looks better, i prefer the slide mechanism rather than the V3 flip.

thanks 50cent

atleast some one agrees with me, lol

Personally i think Samsung phones are awful..
"Great tits and ass but no brains"
Rather: Brilliant displays and good keypads BUT
Huge memory.. theoretically but in real life itīs not dynamic, and thereīs umpteen embarrassing ringtones and a bunch of uninspiring pictures and shite you canīt get rid of. SMS-ing system is abysmal.. No auto Caps when starting new sentence, canīt (couldnīt before anyway) add own words to T9 dictionary.. T9 on by default, funky line breaks in SMSīs. Calendar a joke. Canīt believe Koreans only have one appointment/day?! Email client rudimentary, IRDA crippled, D500 Bluetooth shaky from what iīve been told, no voicedial *like, helloo Samsung, what would you do with a brain if you had one?* Not to mention that their phones look like bling-bling beacons and sound like miniature pinball machines at the slightest touch of a button or even opening the clam *pauses to take a breath* Shall i continue?
True it does have a lot more *IMO meaningless* features than the V3, but the V3 is about class and brilliant basic functions like perfect call clarity, good BT performance and unique style and choice of materials.

Having owned both phones I'm opting for the D500. The V3 is more long winded on the menu system, small memory, screens are good but camera is a bit dodgy, not able to record video, earpiece and speaker sound is good and clear, pre installed pics/themes are pants, bluetooth is very good but is limited, theres a delay from pressing a button/taking a pic/accessing options of sometimes 3 seconds which is slow imo. Other than that its a good phone.
Oh and the instructions are a waste of time.
Sold my V3 for Ģ300 less than a month after buying it.

Guess I'll be opting for the D500 which has become my main phone next to my 's P900 and S700

I love the d500 and WANT ONE!
If i was given the chose of either a free V3 or d500, d500 wins everytime! I think the d500 may bring back "black phones" as its so good looking! IMO anyway

stop it! stop it! you guys are making me want to get and try the D500

To each his/her own
Fair play to ya both!
Just do me a favour and post back after having owned the D500 for a month or so! I would love to hear what you think once the first love shallows. I am not after a "See, told you so" but a real an honest opinion. Even though i wouldnīt touch it with a 10' pole, i would like an opinion in case any of my non-forum addict friends should want one.
Cheers!

well i have used a D500 for about a week and i find it to be great, all tones can be turned of, the bt is great, i havnt tried IR but who would want to use it anyway when you have BT?

masseur u should sell the V3 and get a D500, lol

u no u want to,

Posted by masseur
sell the V3? no way well maybe this one if I can't get it unbarred in UK but if that happens I will still get another.

nah the V3 is for keeps but I've been reading all the D500 posts around Esato and elsewhere and am a little tempted by it though technologically it doesn't really sound much more advanced that many phones on the market at this time

at this time though the JAM is numero uno

Guess I'll post back now then as I've owned my D500 for nearly a month (in 4 days time)

Still good, still like how it works.

No bluetooth problems which btw the D500 uses very well, dont bother with ir unless I'm transferring something to my parents K500i's. Never filled the memory, sound playback is still great, screen still very colourful, calender is good although my P900 calender is used mostly. Menu system is very easy to use compared to the V3.

Was unsure at first about buying one since the last Samsung I had was the A300 and a few friends own the E700 and E800 which I don't like and could not buy cos of the lack of bluetooth.

My D500 verdict - Still like/use my P900 and S700i but the D500 will still become and stay as my main phone for everyday use.

Samsung have made a very good phone in the D500 and I'm very happy I bought it. The same way I was happy with my S700i when I bought that as well. With the 3 phones I currently own I don't think I'll be buying another one for a good while.

I got the blue/black D500 as I did'nt like the look of the grey/titainum model.

@Masseur - You should have a try of one

My D500 is just over a month old and it looks like its been through 3 world wars,

the build quality is awful, i have made about 50 hours worth of calls on it in this time though!

the V3 seems fairly good to me, ive made mine jsut a few days and it seems all good, keypad gets a bit mesy if you have the slightest bit of grease on your hands but hey ho!

is say V3 and not the D500.

to whoever said you are unable to add words to the t9 dictionary: WRONG!

i have many words added to the t9 dictionary (mostly swears!). and that feature was implemented on the e800. t9 is not on by default, infra-red now works both ways, bluetooth stable as anything i have used (p900, p910, t610, k700) - maybe a bit slower (negligable). tones when you silde open the phone can be turned off, as well as any other tone (such as beeps when a text is sent, or when you confrim an entry).

infact, have you even used the phone to create such a damning review? if so, can we just have the facts please.

oh i have about 4 hours of calls on the phone and about 1000 texts in a month period and there ain't a scratch on it - but i suppose this is dependant on the user.

I agree with the above comment.

I also think the comment about the D500's build quality is utter bullsh1t. The build of the phone is very good and sturdy compared to the V3 which had a fragile feel to it. If you've got scratches on yours then its your own fault for not looking after it properly. A case/pouch when the phone's not in use comes in handy. Why not buy one as it'll save all the crying about the scratches/scrapes.

The V3 is purely for look sand size for calls/texts.

However I am using the D500 for so much more. So simple to use. I love the slide function, much nicer on the hand than a flip. Superb loudspeaker and the camera....well "Has anyone seen my Sony P120???"

Seriously this may sound vain but I have my V3 in the ALuminium box for holidays and nights out (like a bently- me wishes!) but the D500 is the day-to-day phone, a.k.a the Audi for me!

Posted by djburno2000
I'm hoping to get mine before the end of the month...

can hardly wait!

For all D500 users, anyone know of good websites dedicated to the D500 like in the way you find for the T610/630/Z600 etc.. ??

May be a good idea to start a new topic with that.

Thanks!

I have never ever used any kind of case on any of my phones,

The D500 is the onluy phone i have owned that the paint work has deterioated with 1 month, its shocking.

the easiest place to look at is on the back where the battery sits in the housing at the top,

the paint came away from there within a week.

i dont mind if someone else thinks my opionon is buls**t but its mine opionon and im entitled to it!

best ever buold quality imo was the 6210. granted the fascia used to get shiny after many hours of use but that was it.

Yes.. the 6210.. one of the best phones i have ever used, in every aspect actually. Still have one too

Posted by fatreg
me too!

while your here, can you debrand the V3 with supplied data cable and an hex editor?

if so can you point me in the direction of some instructions!

cheers

@fatreg
I seriously doubt that.. unfortunately.
Had a discussion about it at M-R forum the other day and we agreed that Moto would be the only manufacturer to have the security/SP-area in the same area as the Flex/FW.. However i am having mine unlocked soon. Ģ14, not too bad, and definetly worth it considering the option of risking to ruin it by hacking yourself.
The only thing a have had the the nerves to do this far is removing all unwanted pics and ringers from my V3

Posted by fatreg
ahh got mine unlocked for free!

am a ginuea pig for a man that buys all the kit!

ill give the debrading go a go if i know of where to the Sw with some instructions!

i dont mind if i screw my V3.

I think you could have it flexed with uncustomised flex.. if itīs any help, hereīs what my unbranded V3 says:
Flex: SE8639AXXM804C-2.0.N.3.2.2.0
S/W: R374_G_0E.40.3ER_A
The SE in the flex version is prolly Swedish lang. version?
