I surely agree with ayush there was no need to take off our old thread ......the problem could have been solved in a simpler way by just deleting those posts we would have lost just a few posts and not 6k+ posts .....also i am not concerned about the number of posts we all can make it up.......but something really feels different in here.....:-(

Masseur deleted it. Nobody wanted the old one to be archived. It was on masseur's suggestion that the members agreed to create this new thread. Even i didn't know that a new thread was created until Killr msgd me. Ayush if you want that thread back, ask the mods. There's no use whining here. I personally would like to have it back minus the crap we posted some days ago.

it was i who pmed masseur. it was a combined decision by killerdude and me. vin called up late at night and told the news. it was vin who suggested to close and start a new one. killer and me find out almost all the discriminating posts and messaged masseur. we first asked him to delete the most evident thread. then gave him the link to posts. killer and me found almost 20 poages were full of that crap. we gave masseur the links. then masseur thought of archiving the thread aand start a new one. then i agreed, (vin had already asked for the same)...

I should add that I have had a few very worried PMs from members wanting their posts removed and one even going as far as to request their account be completely removed because of this.
now I don;t really understand what is happening over there but removing these two threads was by far the surest way of making worried people happy and all posts gone
I'm sorry about this but we should now get on with this new thread as its not really an "se india" thread but a thread about why another thread was removed. (wanna start again... again? - nah, just kidding

I'm sorry but I put alot (and I mean ALOT) of time in here on Esato and I just don't have time to remove that many posts and I still wouldn't be sure to have removed them all.
perhaps you guys should consider more suitable topics for your thread
you are more than welcome to PM another moderator all the posts that have to be removed and they may have more time but all I can do is appologise and I really have no more to say on this subject except to once again appologise that this was one job that was just too big

a very worried vin called up at night, and i too am very worried about this. we had taken the thing so far (however can we forsee that this would be blown out of proportion). many of the members are also ok with it. the new year starts in a few days and lets have a new beginning. we all are sad we have to say goodbye to the other thread many of the memories lie there. we just have to deal with it. its all for the best.
