ok, after months of fun,frustation,bugs, my k700 is finally totally screwed up, and i give up trying to make it alright, whining about it and getting suggestions to fix it.
two frames in camera are distorted, volume randomly goes to full low, main menu bground is distorted, playing videos randomly restarts the phone etc, etc, etc I'm totally disappointed
I regret the day i bought this phone even though it provided some fun uptil now, i'm angry and disappointed at SE. frankly, i didnt expect such a huge number of bugs for a phone that costed me a whopping 17K.
I'm not going to those bastards at accel as they are just waiting to fleece customers like me and rob them of their money. Those assholes dont even know what the word firmware means when i went to upgrade my phone the first time.
I think i'll switch over to nokia

cool down buddy...i cant force you if ur going to nokia but u will come back to SE believe me. Nokias are no good compaired to SE and u know that well, its just ur phone (one in thousand) that is having this problem, but then it can be solved by just upgrading the firmware or reflashing the existing firmware of ur phone....so chill and dont say like this dude

i dont think i'll ever go back to SE again vin, this disappointment has been too much
And the problem is not in hardware, its in the software so they wont replace my piece and i'm not going to spend another 500 bucks and 1 litre of petrol going all the way to accel. My phone is warrantied for hardware, not software defects. i have already ordered a 6600, my mind is made up, i'm gonna either sell this k700 or give it to my bro as soon as 6600 comes, i dont think he will mind these bugs since he's had a cell phone since his 11th standard, but for me its a no no ! I expect something better for what i have paid

i wanted a nu t630 screen and this is what he gave me
i loved it intialy...but as soon as i dloaded some tones, pics etc...it slowed down and restared by itself when i was about to make a call.
fw is r2aa
what should i do?
-never liked the looks of the k700i but now that seems to be changing(but no where as good as the t630)

mine had initially but now it is a perfect phone for me

kooki change it back to r2l001.. r2aa has some problems in camera and contactlists.. it seems..
by the way, restarting happens in all k700s..
but it fortunately doesnt.. when on a call..
themes in k700 rocks man.. its more crystal clear than a t610 theme..

Even I suffered a great deal with my t310, t68i, t610 and now the j200
I guess instead of giving up you should keep on trying like I did and don't give up hope. Even my t610 is studpid slow now becuse of the fw so I shall be reflashing it to the old one

hey kllr, think u need to reason it out with the accel guy. if it's not done, try salora or something.
maybe as others say, flashing the phone will solve the problem. everyone has heartbreak with things that they love. u'll miss it a lot more after it's gone!!!

@ayush i've almost never had any problems with my 310, never took it for servicing either. It's still r1f005, reset only once. What problems did you have with it? The 230 still has problems even after updating. I've reset it 5 times already.

@vin - upgrading to R2AE means no more shutting of camera sound which is probably the worst i've ever heard in a camera phone or any camera for that matter, and to reflash i'll need to shell out 500 bucks which those idiots at accel are charging, as i've said before my phone is warrantied only for h/w defects by the dealer where i bought it, not software defects
and if anybody's thinking "this guy can pay 17k for a phone but cant pay just 500 bucks" my reply is i got my k700 by sheer luck due to an unexpected turn of events, which caused us to spend less than the allocated budget. It was just pure luck or bad luck however you may take it

I must admit that I actually had a look at a 6230 as well. Barring the screen size and display quality in comparison with the k700i it seemed to be a pretty decent phone, since the price range is almost the same. Plus its got expandable memory & EDGE.

@mrao - dont let my problem put you off, i'm sure my phone is the only defective one in a 1000, the probability of getting a bad phone is very low. unfortunately the odds are against me this time
as a side note, today is the first day, my battery is still above half power
@kooki - the battery takes a long time to reach full capacity, it took mine a week
AND DONT BUY A 6230 ! it has EDGE but its not Symbian as i found out to my surprise, its a nokia series 40 phone ! Get a 7610

Killer, there is no camera sound in k700 when on mute. It only happens on K500i.

@govi - i see, but i still am remaining firm on my decision, i can be quite stubborn at times.
But i still cant figure out where i'm gonna dig up 500 bucks, probably rob the local bank but they dont have anything either, i'd probably end up giving them a loan.
there are no odd jobs available here in coimbatore either, right now i should be doing a project at my future company getting 3.6k per month but my college wouldnt allow me to work at chennai since i would miss my classes

If you are gonna be stuck for 1year, i suggest upgrade. I too thot of borrowing from a friend. (He even asked me if i wanted money.) I decided against it. Not worth getting a good phone on borrowed money. My guilt feeling was too much.
