with OPTUS (aus) i got i month of free gprs, but they warned me a few days b4 it would run out and my mate is on voda prepaid and he got free gprs for a while, but its only been about 4 months for him :S

The month i got my gprs activated, my operator declared it free! It was free for 4 months. After that , they slashed the monthly rental by 75%. Lucky for me!!

@future the operators dont like warnings, they say later: read the small text at the bottom of your contract. Next to it its atrick to make u pay.

anyway, if you want good network coverage go with telstra
but they dont have many extra perks as in free calls after 9 etc
if you want lots of extra calls and sms perks go with optus
. they offer free calls to any optus mobile anytime of the day, and 15 cent sms
i havent been on voda b4 so i cant enlighten you with them

Only good things about voda recharge wit 30 u get 60 free txt recharge wit 60 u git (lol) 120 free txt and also voda to voda just 20c calls. *Future* ps dave wat about wap free or wat

i didnt use wap with telstra cause i was only a young'en back then and didnt fully understand how to set it up.
optus offer 1 month free gprs and after that its charged by the kb

nah sorry man you get charged for being connected.
im waiting for optus to come out with some sort of prepaid GPRS thing where you pay like 10 bucks per month for unlimited GPRS access but no luck yet
