Im willing to pay £30 pm on a 12m contract but the cheapest i have seen the phone for is £50 that I dont have this close to christmas....

Doubt you'll find it for free... I got mine for £50 on Orange, but that's fine cuz I always have a bit of money to buy myself a nice Xmas pressie, since it's the season of goodwill.
