I know a java app named Xview, it can zoom, but I can't find the full version on the web. Can somebody help me? Is there another app with zoom? Can someone write a java app, that can open images and zoom in?
Posted by dxcore
I've goit it, but i don't think it is what You wan't. It works like Book Reader - You need first to upload image to jar file.

Sounds good, is that the app named Xview? I have that one
Posted by N-er-G
This app is a little slow. Anyone know an app that can zoom in pics?!!!

Do Java apps have direct access to the file system? I thought they did not which is why apps like bookreader and xview need the images inside the jar file.
I might be wrong but Java on k700 is very limited in terms of accessing the major functions of the phone.
Posted by govigov
@dcuk, will you pls send the xview and bookreader app via email, pls. :-D govindc@gmail.com

Ehh, why K700i is not Symbian phone, why?
Posted by govigov
In the sonyericsson portfolio, only p series are symbian. Apparently they are keeping it that way. There must be some reason,

Mophun can view the filesystem of the phone, why can't java? I thought that it is more sofisticated them Mophun (some puzzle game can open images)! What is bookreader?
Hey, no apps in Mophun yet?
Posted by dxcore
It's easy - because java is slow and large crap. But it is very popular because coders can use it on webpages, pc applets, phone midlets and other stuff. We can only wait to popularize of mophun. Java is good only for games, unfortunately.
Posted by N-er-G
Yeah, mophun could do some serious apps, am I right?
Posted by dxcore
Yes. Mophun is a mobile version of C, then it have "some power". But K700i don't have it. Argh
Posted by N-er-G
I saw that Mophun can do 3D, java on T630 can't really... ok ,a bit. If mophun whould create a powerful image viewing and editing tool, or other handy apps, then many will buy it! Can we tell this to them?
Posted by dxcore
I don't think. Do you wan't to buy some software for your phone only to zoom some photos? I can buy a good game, or instant messanger but not image viewer with zoom option - it is not profitable. Then any thinking coder don't do that. Off course, maybe some person write it and share it on net, but if yes - it's very hard to find. I think You must to search app that allows to make a real edit of images on phone, like contrast edit, saturation, rotation, resize and another "in pack" tools for high resolution photos. BTW - Java 3D (Mascot Capsule) on K700i is cool, look only to SCPT3D or SRT, that games are graphic perfect

3d-pool is cool, a good example of what mophun can do. Do you now where can I download it?
Posted by dxcore
Here - http://sek700.ic.cz/
Posted by N-er-G
I thought it was mophun (i found it on mophun.com), and i need it to play in multiplayer (it's for a T630, isn't it?)
Thnx a lot!
Why can't I download Game Magic S60?

3d-pool not working on t630

Java is actually quite good and can rival mophun if implemented properly.
Java would be able to access the file system and bluetooth if SE provided the firmware with the relevant API's but unfortunately they haven't. SE bad implementation of Java is restricting the phone. Provide the API's and we could all be playing MiniGolf over bluetooth again!
Until SE correct this Java will continue to be second rate to mophun on all SE phones.
It is a shame they have taken mophun away from the newest phones but it hasn't really taken off, not in the same way 3D Java has.
Posted by dxcore
@dcuk
Do You think SE can make a small gift for it users and code a better implemenatation of Java in next firmawre's, or we must wait for next phones?
Posted by N-er-G
Mophun is written on C? I study Pascal an C in the school. Did sombody wrote a mophun game ever? How do i do that?
Posted by DCUK7
@ dxcore
I wouldn't hold your breath on that one. To add the relevant support for the phone software to do that is a major change in the firmware. They are not likely to do this to an existing product, not worth their programmers time!
We can only hope that the successor to the K700 has this functionality as this is the only time I can see SE adding the support for bluetooth etc.
I would like to see mophun support back in SE phones but as above, I cannot see that happening in an existing product!
We are stuck with what we have I'm afraid!
@ N-er-G
To develop mophun games you must register with mophun and download the mophun SDK. Read more about it at http://developer.mophun.com/
