I bought an MMC card online & paid £18 for it.

Instead of an MMC I have received an 80gb Archos movie mp3/mp4 player worth about £400 !!!

But there was no paper work with it.

My order online says it is dispatched.

I'll have it

BARGAIN or what.

If it were me, i'd wait a few days or weeks to see if they noticed the error, and if they dont..... you know

Posted by Lynx69
Trigga69 would like that as a late birthday/early christmas present...he told me it would make him very happy.

Send it back?

That's one expensive mistake for them, and a nice start to the weekend for you!

Lol sumat like that happened to me lastyr I ordered a discman and instead of 1 I got 2 ;-)

Posted by wapchimp
2 for 1 would be good but I have something worth £400 !!!!

Posted by slattery69
hang onto to it for a bit and see if they notice if they dont then keep it or sell it.
if you aint heard anything in about 2 weeks you should be ok.
the recieve will complain and they will just assume it went missing in the post and will be insured against such things so no one loses out really.

Posted by wapchimp
it was sent stardard recorded delivery - which signed for. But still that only covers £30 worth !

Posted by SsTiTcH
Much as i like a good deal.. Id send it back.. Soz m8.. But i believe its always better to be honest.

Posted by jcwhite_uk
i would double check your card account to make sure that you havent been charged £400.

Posted by wapchimp
nope just the £18.99 for the mmc card

Posted by OluYom
I'd notify them of the anomaly, and send it back if required to (which is very likely). Honesty pays rich dividends.

Posted by slattery69
well its up to you id be tempted to hang onto it. its there mistake and they may not notice . at the end of the day you signed for a mmc not what you were given.
its a right dilema esp if you are normally an honest person.

Posted by wapchimp
I am yes. I will wait n see. If they notice I will send it back in exchange for a wireless router

X-Mas is coming up.

Posted by Jake Blues
i THINK by law if they dont notice in 30 days its yours.
best thing to do is ring your local citizens advice and ask them what your rights are.

Posted by kimcheeboi
tell them you never got your MMC card

its not christmas spirit but what the hell, might as well get your 18 pounds' worth

Posted by london-uk
Honesty is always the best policy. There are several ways ( within the jurisdiction of England and Wales ) in which you could purport to exercise rightful (& legal) ownership of the product in question. However, I would advise you to return the item. This seems completely logical to me.

If you choose dishonesty, then so be it. I would not even consider keeping the item. This is not some 'holier than thou' preaching, merely common ethics. In my line of work I have multiple opportunities to 'take people for a ride', but I don't. In my opinion, simple morality and ethics would be a good idea to start with.

UK consumer law says I can keep it if I did not order it or pay for it. I can claim it as a gift

Posted by Jake Blues
nice one.

now all you need is an mmc card....

What a coincidence, I ordered an Archos movie mp3/mp4 player and received this stupid MMC card!

Seriously, I'd say "Let your conscience decide".

Yeah, sorry about that, probably a bit harsh. I just get quite worked up about the issues raised in this thread. Will edit previous post to reflect no personal offence was intended. However, imo you should give it back.
