I just realised... The title of this thread doesn't half sound like summat else...

Big Fat "one of them"

Posted by methylated_spirit
The title, and the first contestant

Posted by k4m!k4ze
August was named after emperor augustus who won a battle in that month. In those days, even numbers were considered unlucky so he took a day from february add added to it to august. The second month was considered devoted to the devil so it originally had only 29 days. Am i right ?

Posted by methylated_spirit
Dunno, but it sounds good to me! We have a winner!

Okay, next fact hunt question:

What are cd's made of?

Posted by k4m!k4ze
Polycarbonate plastic

Posted by methylated_spirit
Excellant.

Feel free to post questions you want factual answers for, peeps!

How does gravity work ?

Posted by kimcheeboi
attraction between matter

OK . . . Guess the 'REAL' answer to this one . . . In the Book of List, how MANY kids does Mr. Dumas were able to produce with different women In effect, the 'Q' is, how many KIDS does he have? Clue: The TOTAL count is in the . . . hundreds!

Posted by Davo_169
try this one: what was the main poetic device/technique used by the metaphysical poets?

Posted by *Jojo*
No one seems to be interested in answering my 'Q' and with that of @davo_169 here . . . !

Posted by scotsboyuk
@davo_169

Argument. There are one or more arguments underpinning metaphysical poetry, expressed through the rhyme, metre and stanza of the poem.

ok,

Gravity forms one of the three fundamental forces of the universe and it is speculated that gravitational attraction is conducted through theoretical particles known as gravitons. Gravity is a universal force, effecting all corners of the universe, everything with mass has a gravitational effect on everything else with mass.
Gravity is the natural opponent to entropy, which pushes things apart. Gravity and entropy can be seen as opposing for order and chaos respectively. It should be noted that entropy is not 'anti-gravity', rather it is the breakdown of ordered systems i.e. the universe. It is a fundamental that entropy will always increase, at least until a theoretical point, at which the universe stops expanding and begins contracting.
The force of gravity is constantly weakening as the universe expands and matter grows ever more dispersed.

Google kicks ass!

Gravity actually works in a very similar way to chewing gum, when you step on discarded chewing gum it sticks, just like shit, (on blankets), when you try to lift your foot, the blanket comes with it, the smell is outragous.
