at the end of the day you 'could' take offence at anything, but youve gotta rememeber no-one here is trying to be offencive...
although i might add, those girlies didnt have a choice whether to wear a brace (if they didnt they'd end up with wonky teeth), but people choose to wear a vail etc.... hence - are we having friendly banter at someone because they are stuck with something or because they choose something???? which is worse i wonder?

Yes, I see what yor saying. But I think it's more down to HOW you make fun of someone or something. For example, a friend of mine is non-sighted and regularly cracks jokes about it himself. When he walks into the pub, there's nearly always a bit of good natured banter from the regulars which he joins in with, he doesn't take offence to it at all.
There's a difference between laughing at someone and laughing with someone. My point is that more people should be prepared to go along with a bit of fun rather than instantly getting mardy and 'offended'. The world would be a much more jovial place
