The futures NOT Orange!

Hi all,

A few months back I decided to get the lovely new Ericsson T68. When looking of a network I had heard good things about Orange and their service so I decided to go with them. However...

I now discover that, as with all most networks, their GPRS gateways has a 1.5Kb file size limit so its pretty useless, they don't support MMS and I can't get the new T68i upgrade because I will invalidate my warranty if I do!

Come on Orange, get your act together. the future could be turning blue, red or even pink!

PS. Does anyone have any information on when Orange will support MMS? Cheers.

I had a similar problem getting the upgrade done on Orange.
I first rang SE and they gave me details of a place to get it done. I phoned them up and they said we don't do Orange.
OK I thought. I'll phone Orange. They called me back and said your local CPW will do it. We just rang them and they said it's OK.
So I rang them to check and they said "Yeah! bring it in. Takes about an hour, bla bla bla..."
So I went in and they turned me away. We don't do Orange they said. I told them that Orange called them and they said they did. "Well now were saying we don't."
So... I phone Orange again and they said that they do not support the S/W upgrade so I couldn't have it done.
Muppets!
So I went to my local cowboy phone shop and they sent it to an SE service centre and I had it done. And now it's great.
Sod Orange. If it goes wrong I'll drop it in the bath and get a new one.
My advice is get it done and enjoy yourselves and when your contract runs out leave Orange. That's what I'm going to do.

The future's shite with Orange!

Cheers folks,

I agree with all of that. I think I will just get it done anyway and if it packs in I'll take gazobee's advice, after all accidents do happen!

It's a tricky one though, do you put up with Orange being technically shite but having good customer service or vice versa? I have to say though that most of the people I have spoken to at Orange about technical issues don't really have a clue. I guess this is the same with most helpdesks and it's just down to luck of the draw as to who you get to speak to!

Anyway, cheers for all the advice.

T68 rocks*

*Applies to upgraded T68 only!!!!! (I hope)

Has 2 b an upgraded 68,as the 68i has a poofy colour scheme.who ever thought a guy would go 4 poofy blue and metallic white? Beats me.

I work for orange and i can guarantee that the MMS service will be available at the start of August. It is a bummer about us not supporting MMS from the outset but it's a question of software, cost and, mainly , internal politics.(How much to charge etc.)

What i do is use the Ericsson WAP Settings available from www.sony-ericsson.com. This gives a bigger gateway and alllows you to download those fabulous colour gifs.

Cheers me dears
