Is it worth getting one for £40 as a second phone?

Also what memory cards does it use?

Also can i send all contacts to my pc from my T610 and then transfer that file to the phone via data cable.

Also what is possible to do with the of the phone?

I am getting one tomorrow as well just as a backup handset when the need is there. Since Lynx is asking newbie questions, here is another one... does it come with the stereo headphones for listening to MP3s or does that has to be bought seperately??

i work in a phone shop & personally i wouldnt even bother thinkin about gettin an e616, i stopped selling them as they kept coming back,heap of junk with poor battery life(thats why they come with 2) as for the LG U8120's u were on about...i think i heard sum1 tell me they're about £65 at Argos on PAYG???

yeah, but NEC has a memory stick duo slot and unlike LG, it also has bluetooth and hopefully its infrared will not be as crap as LG's!

I think the bluetooth is headset only?!?

The LG has been discontinued and replaced with E616 in argos.

@riflogic, you get a handsfree kit which allows you to listen to mp3's for it. This is the type with only one headphone but you should be able to get the other type of headphones. As for bluetooth, its only for headsets so no file transfer but you get a data cable int he box for it.

Oh well, cant complain at £40. I am actually getting 10% discount at that so I can't even use the word complain!

i was thinking about getting one as well when the price dropped last mobth from 100 to 40. but the battery life you better count in hours than days and a lot of people got a great deal of problems with the handset itself (dropped calls to mention one at least). i bought 7600 instead and its much better. if you want an NEC though, wait 1-2 weeks and get 338.

I went out and got one today and got it unlocked as well. All in all £55 spent which is not bad for a UMTS handset that will mainly be my backup phone! The phone has no infrared which I did not know about but other than that the phone is OK. As pointed out earlier that the is headset compatible only. The one thing I do like is that it is compatible with memory stick duo and playing MP3s is a doddle! All in all, it is a good phone for the price paid.

@riflogic
which network are you going to use. it may be interesting to compare the battery life with 3G vs 2G sim. i heard that when headsets connects to 3G network it drains battery quicker (but maybe just due to the poor 3G signal?).

Good point vlad, I'm thinking of giving one of these as a Christmas present.

£40, can't go wrong really.

I am using the Vodafone SIM card in it. But I cant compare the battery life between 2.5G and 3G as I have not used the 3 SIM card at all.
