K700I And Java apps accessing internet on o2

Hi All.
I am having trouble getting my java applications on my K700I to successfully access the internet.
I'm on o2 uk pay and go.
Have tried the "APN=INTERNET" stuff to no avail.
Has anybody had any success with this at all. Neither sony ericsson or o2 seem to be able to help me.

hi everyone, i've the same problem too.
Apps like web viewer, SE's Financial Times and games like Robo2...
My browser could access the net and i've checked that they are using the same internet profile...
Can't understand why... sigh...
