I'm also experiecing problems logging into Esato...I've already signed in but when I reply to a post I have to login again, which is nonsensical.

Posted by mario2002
All the 3G cellphones ? ? ? I bet you the 6680 is not here :-( Esato is just fine on my old 7650

Posted by brix25
It should be said that I experience login problems only when browsing from a PC?

Posted by Rhino8
Yamigo started giving news feeds and f1 feeds yesterday, pretty cool if you ask me.

Posted by Tahir Ally
Vodafone Live! is coming.Vodafone Live! has FREE BROWSING AND YOU DON'T PAY FOR ANY DOWNLOAD.You only pay for the content(IF ITS NOT FREE) NOT for download. To take advantage of this you have to buy a VODAFONE branded handset of the VODAFONE mobile connect data card

Posted by brix25
@Rhino: Now I'm really missing my K700.... What are the news feeds like?

Posted by Tahir Ally
@Brix Where did you take your phone for repairs

Its hard to explain, but its CNN and BBC news feeds. I tried the weather service today too, and it works a dream, got most major cities and towns in south africa. News feeds are sent to all subscribers according to the web site, and you can just block it if you like. Its easier to block if you add all news feeds to your contacts.

Posted by brix25
Ahh man... It sounds too good to be true. Anyone who hasn't used Yamigo is surely missing out.

@ brix
I need a new phone. 40 meg memory just is not enough. And i got mates that happy with the 2meg of the t6xx.

Posted by brix25
You've stated You before that want a 3G phonecan so you can either get the Vodafone branded V800 or patiently wait for the K800 which should arrive in March next year. K600 is a non-starter...it ONLY comes with 40mb of memory.

Posted by JK
@tahir

you pay for downloading something... R2.00 p/mb and if there is a cover charge you pay that R5 or whatever...

besides mp3 songs are only 30sec long....

Posted by Rhino8
@brix
You got to be kidding me........ Have one phone for more than a year.... PmPl. The v800 is so........ Big.... And ugly.... Maybe in a month or so.

@tahir what does the v800 Sell for?

Posted by brix25
The earliest I can see myself getting another phone is in about a year...The K700i would've been around for two years and my T68i for a little bit longer I still want get myself a T39 as a third phone.

Posted by Tahir Ally
@ Rhino 8 i am retailing the V800 for R4000.If you want a small 3G phone by the Moto E1000 or the new Moto v980.V980 is Free on a weekender contract. The V980 comes with 2 batteries and a car charger.V980 has no Btooth.................and For KBR786,I am say it again VODAFONE LIVE YOU DON'T PAY FOR THE DOWNLOAD.YOU PAY FOR THE CONTENT ONLY.If it cost R5 thats it and NO download costs.......I love the Vodafone Live shirts Voda gave.

Posted by Rhino8
Well maybe ill wait a month or 3 and get the v800 for R2500

Well i got my new laptop today. Wow. Am so impressed with this piece of perfection.... Ladida....

Posted by Tahir Ally
Maybe next year it will retail @ R2500.Look @ Moto E1000 since DEC the price did not drop much

Posted by Rhino8
It would not have dropped much being the only 3G phone....

Posted by JK
IT could have dropped maybe it did actually the cost price did drop by R300!!!

I got a V800 very shiny still getting used to it...

Posted by CodeMaster
@Tahir Ally,

How much is the V800 on 'Weekender' and 'Talk120'?

I see that the V800 is now listed on the Vodacom website along with the Sharp 902. They are giving the V800 free on 'Business Contract'.

The Sharp is nice, some cool features, but also some crappy features eg. no MP3 ringtones, etc.

It's also not a SE...

Posted by brix25
It's suprising that no-one including Vodacom's chief propagandist- Tahir- has described the much vaunted 3G service. Will you still be able to surf wap sites? Can you download content outside of the Vodafone Live portal? I'm looking forward to answers.

Posted by Tahir Ally
You can go off the Vodafone live portal and you will pay normal data rates. The V800 is FREE on Talk 120 package and is R869 cash on a Weekender package........................The Vodafone Live portal has 500 000 music titles. It will only cost you R15 to buy.Movies, browsing IOL via Vodafone live is FREE...............MTN cant touch this.

In other News:MTN launched there new DATA tarrifs. Its now R2 a meg
out of bundels within bundels is between R1.25- R0.49cents.This will be in the press this SUNDAY

@Tahir: are u seriously thinking people will pay R15 for a music track when iTunes charges less than a dollar? Thanks for the news on the slashing of data rates by MTN.

Posted by JK
@ TAHIR

can we stop advertising here!!!!

@ brix

dats a stupid question... of course u can, i dont think u understand 3g - its a service not a phone all it means is that instead of gprs u can get super fast downloads so whatever u can do with grps u can do 100X faster on 3g ...

but neway my v800!!!!

the best feature for me so far is that if the phone is closed.. u can still take vids and pics!!!! and the victims wont even know they are being filmed!!!!!!

u can see on the external screen ... like a e700 Sam!!!

going to a strip club tonite!!!!!!!!! :) :)

it still has the damn shutter click!!!!!

@786KBR,

Why stop advertising?

I say if it's relevant to cell phones, then go ahead....

Posted by JK
this whole thing about giving away the deals is so lame pick up a damn news paper!!!!

would you like it if i gave away vodacoms cost prices.... ofcourse you would but i wont tell...

just not a fan of tahirs regurgitation thats all....

Posted by CodeMaster
Who's giving away Vodacom's cost prices?

I for one, like to recieve this info, who's got time to read a newspaper everyday...

Posted by JK
start a advertising thread then.... why would mtn lower there gprs costs... do u think they have edge yet...

coz i recently dicovered vodacoms faster gprs... and with a fast gps i used alomost 9m/b!!!!! in like 5 min!!!! so with edge u could end up using more!!!! maybe thats why then.... i think i answered my own question

Posted by Tahir Ally
They maybe charge you $1 and you still have to pay for your browsing and download cost.No browsing or download cost on Vodafone Live!

Posted by mario2002
@786 a few posts ago you sad UMTS is 100x faster then GPRS ! I think is more like 10x (actually make it 7.5 if you are in Port Elizabeth)

Posted by Rhino8
Does the blackberry have the ability to send and recieve faxes?

Posted by brix25
Do we have any figure on how many people in SA actually bother with GPRS.

Posted by JK
@ mario
it was just an exageration but if it gets to 1 gig p/sec which is possible...

@rhino
yes it can..

@ brix
there are alot of people using gprs id say at least 90% of people under 35 use it, also send pic messages and rintones and vid etc use gprs to send it through...

theres no mp3 on this thing... and i only got a 32meg stick is that right??? + its not big its the same as my k700 but thinner!! nice phone..

i left my phone on the table and directed it to a bunch of girls and they didnt even know i was taking pics... so cool

Posted by Rhino8
Okay, 90% of ppl unda35 but how many use gprs for anything other than mms? Maybe one or 2 %? Coz there aint alot. And how many use it for chat? Maybe 30% of that 2%?

Posted by JK
I actually have the stats from vodacom!!!

got the sharp 902 the white one... its like the lg t5100 sexy little thing... but trying the v800 first...

Posted by Rhino8
You got the voda stats, but that aint saying much.

Posted by JK
CANT TELL EXACTLY but thats more or less the stats... its quite high!!!!!

do u honestly think people have internet on their phone and they not using it????

[ This Message was edited by: 786KBR on 2005-04-08 14:31 ]

Posted by Rhino8
To be honest, most students dont know what its all about, if voda advertise internet on your phone more , there will be much more ppl on. I mean Ffs, do you know any other wap user from bloem?

Lots of young ppl are too stupid to use it too.

Posted by Tahir Ally

@ tahir ...PM the interested parties....

@ rhino (i think)

i dont know what students you have in bloem but any way i am a student and i promise everybody i know or meet know about internet on their mobiles!!!!!

i actually find it so wierd you could say that!!! students know more about technology than they should....

now that i think about it that was a stupid and most ridiculous thing said in this thread including tahirs bull!!!!!!!

@ tahir

do you honestly sit and type all that crap with your P900??

Posted by Rhino8
Students oveR heRe are major stupid, and i dont think most of them even use mms, nevermind gprs

Posted by brix25
@Rhino: Just go visit the SA thread on Prodigits, you'll find a lot of students on there.

Posted by JK
to be honest i didnt know either... but while playin around and then when it says enter address... thats how i found out...

I think the reason voda not tellin, is the fact that is no security on the mobile web!!! so therefore parents wont buy those particular phones....well they could but then deactivate gprs but then you cant send pics and stuff... so theres no point

if voda advertises it but then cant put a security measure in place then whats the point... theyll lose out on higher end cellphones..
