Eish Bra Hobbs,I had to fork out R1400 man.The phone fell on concrete bro and the screen cracked,it felt like a needle piecing through my heart. But at least it's sorted out now.

Posted by Hobbs

Sorry about that, did you take it to Vodaworld or something?
I'm thinking of getting mine replaced, it's all scratched
I don't get why SE didn't make it scratch resistant, or atleast include a pouch like the cool 5800's...

Wanqs
Thanks Boet

Posted by Tsepz_GP
Lol,dam Gola, how did that happen? Im sometimes too lazy to use my finger or pull out the stylus eg. If im replying to a sms in class, so i use a pen or whatever pointy object i can find to touch the screen, no scratchs though, 5800 seems to use a very soft plastic screen, dont know if thats a good thing right now, but it seems very durable, time will tell though lol.
By the way was just listenin to that Weezy ft. Nicki Minaj Sweet Dreams remix, pretty tite, so shes the chick in the Bedrock track as well? Dig the way Weezy kills the beat then brings it back when he begins.
By the way the 5800's cover is awful i only use it when i know its going to be a crazy night, otherwise it almost doubles the size of the phone, and can be difficult to remove lol, wish it just came with a E75 type leather cover.

Taken from GSMArena:

'Tethering made easy: SIMFi is a SIM card with built-in Wi-Fi router

Some mobile phones can do Wi-Fi tethering, others need to connect to the PC Suite for Internet sharing and some just can't do it, period. But what if the SIM card in the phone could do it all by itself? Sagem Orga and Telefonica have come up with such a SIM card, dubbed SIMFi.

SIMFi is compatible with existing phones but acts as a Wi-Fi router that any device can connect to. The Wi-Fi gadgetry is integrated into the card itself, but we guess you'd still need a phone with good 3G connectivity to source the data connection in the first place.

More information should be revealed at the MWC next week and hopefully some nagging questions about SIMFi will be answered, like how good a Wi-Fi radio have they managed to fit into the SIM card form-factor and what kind of strain that will put on the phone's battery.

Anyway, this has the potential to become highly popular for customers with solid data plans. Get a SIMFi card with a data plan and you can use it both for your phone and laptop/netbook with no hassle - no moving the card back and forth between the phone and modem or worry about PC Suites or tethering hacks.

HTC HD2 owners are probably smiling right now, their phone came with a Wi-Fi Router app preinstalled. But SIMFi will work on feature phones too, which is a pretty big advantage.'

u guys talk accessing the web 4 free.

That's cool, but as Gucci was referring to, there's already a dedicated forum for that.

We'll talk about phones, (including broken screens), cars and other stuff in here. After all, variety is the spice of life.

And by that, by no means does that undermine the significance of the other thread's purpose and importance to many.

GUCCI
Yeah man, it got scratched through normal use I guess, but it's mostly the stylus when the phone is in my pocket...
I'd still want a pouch though.
Yeah, it's the same Nicki..." And I'm rich I could buy you" lol.
That's about the only coolest thing about Weezy's verse, don't get me wrong, he still gets my respect.

HOBBS
lol, you heartless. I blame it on the stylus, although I do prefer it as to the ones that slide into the phone... Oh well.

Taken from Yahoo!:

'Microsoft to announce new phone software - sources

Microsoft Corp is set to announce new mobile phone software on Monday, according to sources close to the company, as it looks to wrestle back market share from Apple Inc's iPhone and Research in Motion Ltd's BlackBerry.
The world's largest software company, which makes operating systems for phones made by HTC Corp, Samsung Electronics Co Ltd, Motorola Inc and others, is hoping to regain momentum in the fast-growing sector after a lacklustre update to its mobile software in October.

The overhaul of Microsoft's phone technology comes as it haemorrhages market share in the burgeoning smartphone market, which many see as the key to the future of communication and media.

Microsoft took just an 8.8 percent of the global smartphone operating system market last year, according to technology analysis firm Canalys, down from 13.9 percent the year before.

It trails Symbian, the system used on Nokia phones, which has 47.2 percent of the market, RIM's BlackBerry with 20.8 percent and Apple's iPhone with 15.1 percent.

Microsoft also faces competition from Google Inc's new Android system, which already has a 4.7 percent share of the market.'

Just finished watching SE's live press event using Skyfire web browser on the 5800, and what a complete waste of time and data, its rehashs of already exsisting phones
Vivaz Pro -a Vivaz with a QWERTY keyboard.
X10-Mini -a mini X10.
X10-Mini Pro -a X10-Mini with a keyboard. wow.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GUCCIMAN!
I see what you mean about it just looks good. But hey,for me that 50% of the task of a good OS.
S60 has everything you could possibly ask for,but hey,it looks like shit.
iPhone is thin on specs, but it looks good and is super fantastic.
For me specs are'nt the be all and end all.
A good example is the Ubuntu OS.It is bareboned but sexy enough to make you love it.

Thanx Hobbs
Yah, different strokes for different folks i guess lol. I like the simple look, if you saw my 5800xm you wouldnt think it belonged to a smartphone fan, until you looked in the apps folder. Im using the default Sound Waves (Red) theme, thats the one you see on all the reviews and ads, with the black background, homescreen is the default one with the 4 shortcuts at the top (Messaging, Music Player, Bluetooth and Ovi Store). I just like the default look of NOKIA's S60v5, its simple, not too much going on, but like that underneath the simplicity is a smartphone that can do tons of things eg. Being able to watch a live press event without touching a PC, watching a review from YouTube on my TV via TV-Out, running my fav apps at once, being able to customize my apps to run the way i want: from where they dump their cache to what gets left on RAM etc. . .lol, and its all in this average looking music phone.
The new WM seems to have stripped a lot of that away, i get sick of all the bling after a while and just want it to work. Give me an iPhone for a week, i guarantee il be trying hard to hunt down an all black theme (keeping the icons the same) ,and trying to turn off all the special effects lol.
