LOL, no problem, tranced.
@ Hobbster:
And to think I never put a foot in the store in the time it was there...
So much for a preference to
phones, hey? Must've been the growing 5800 Force in me keeping me away from there all this time, LOL.
BTW, thanks for that link! Wow, didn't realise it was launched at Koko of all places! Eish, methinks I would've gatecrashed that one...

I think its going to sell really well Wangs. Its looks bloody awesome.I signed up to AAS's email notifications where they send you top stories of the day and all the new news hitting the world of mobile phones ect Its well worth it.
Posted by HOBBS
Hey Kryps, hows the N73 doing or do you still have your eye on the E71i for your ebook reading?
Posted by amawanqa
Ya I think so too, boet. Price is all that I'm wondering about now.
As much as I'd like to get my mitts on one ASAP, I'll weather the wanton Wanqa's desires by a few months if necessary, if it means that I don't pay extortionate amounts of money for a such an awesome handset.
Suddenly I've got an ol' Gn'R song in my head: "...Just a little patience....yeeeaaahh...." LOL.
Posted by HOBBS
Wangs you always got the habit of mentioning old songs i absolutely love. Those buggers were good back in the day.I just sometimes wish they hadnt released the Spagetti Incident after the Use Your Illusion albums and that Axl had staid on drugs, cause that was when he was at his best lol

Wow, i have much to learn hey, thanx for the advice
Hobbs
Ye that 5800xm is going to be quite a hit im sure,i wonder how it will be priced here in SA though.

@ Hobbster:
Ya, so true. In many ways the double album was their swan-song.
What a pity indeed. 3 bands I feel could've still been making headlines in the music scene, if things were still as they were (and if they were all still alive n'kickin'), would be them, Alice In Chains, and of course Nirvana. Oh hang on, what about Pearl Jam, Soundgarden etc. Dammit, there I go on another early 90's music tangent again, LOL.

Well with the E90 priced at R9500 and the N95-2 I think it is 8 grand,God only knows Gucci. The 8gb I-phone sells for R6800 at Vodacom and didnt they say the 5800 goes for half the price of the Iphone.Correct me if Im wrong.
Pearl Jam wasnt cool if you were a dedicated Nirvana fan (eventhough deep down inside you knew they were fu#king hot) Mmmm I think Mp3fiesta needs a visit and a Pearl Jam album is needed in my CD Collection.Good one Wangs,I totally forgot about them.Nirvana, its hard listening to them now-a-days I find.Maybe its just because you have a handful of albums and thats that. You go back and forth from album to album and you've heard it all so much that its become stale.I love 'You Know You're Right' -I think its called. The last song released by Nirvana.I can listen to it over and over. That man was brilliant. For a small guy he could scream like hell.

Yhu, we're on a roll tonight here, peeps. Been a while since we've had over 30+ posts in a single day.
Mphone here now have the Xperia in stock, and it's the same wacky initial launch price as the N96, i.e £500 (approx R7500)...
http://www.mphone.co.uk/
Posted by HOBBS
If its R7500 there Wangs its going to hit the 10 grand mark over here.
If you want more than 30 post a day dude, just ask.Its not that hard lol
Posted by amawanqa
Ya, I wasn't a massive Pearl Jam fan myself, but Eddie Vedder and the boys had a huge influence on the grunge scene in that time (oh hell, and he loved himself a fair bit too, LOL), and an album like 'Ten' is a true classic of that time.
I manage to still listen to Nirvana now and again. The post-Cobain release 'You Know You're Alright' is also one of my faves, no question. I find 'Bleach' the hardest album to listen to at times. Very edgy, almost uneasy, but there's also an appeal in those raw arrangements.
Nevermind is timeless. I don't think I could tire of tracks like 'Come As You Are' et al.
Posted by EMS06
@HOBBS
One thing I'm you've paid attention to is how ridiculous Vodacom are in terms of their pricing strategy. The E90 at that price is a rip off! Check out Incredible Connection and compare, much cheaper over there.
Posted by HOBBS
Wangs I play guitar and when I bought a guitar book of the album Bleach to learn all the songs I was really surprised to see how complicated his music was to play on that album. It was quite complex and insanely structured. So I always listen to that album with interest. You must remember they made that album with hardly any money and their drummer at the time was pretty crap and one dimensional.Looked like a little pixie.Boy did he miss out when Mr Grohl entered the scene.Nevermind was just awesome,sing-a-long stuff to tracks like Lithium, come as you are,Smells like Teen spirit,on a plain, polly ect.Incesticide was very childlike.Enjoyed the playfulness of that album with tunes like Mollys Lips.My favourite has to be In-Utero.Dark and Painful.Slightly disturbing with tracks like Rape Me,Frances Farmer Will Have Her Revenge,Scentless Apprentice,Shaped Box ect Nirvana Unplugged In New York was just classic.Loved his choice of songs on that album.Man Who Sold The World is my favourite on that album. The David Bowie cover.Long Live Nirvana.Short Live Courtney Love lol
Posted by HOBBS
@EM-On a Top 315,you getting R315 airtime,so that cancels each other out.Phone financing was R179.00 So if you paying R179.00 over 24 months it comes up to a grand total of R4296.00 I dont think that so bad considering its worth 9-plus grand. But yeah,Vodacom in general are bloody expensive.
Posted by HOBBS
Can you see why that QWERTY keyboard of the E90 is going to come in handy.Im a posting monster when I sit in front of a keyboard and not just a the normal keypad.Never got into the whole T9 thing except when I had my 3310.The perfect phone for messaging that was.
Posted by amawanqa
@ Hobbster:
And look what Dave Grohl's still doing today. Man, how many music instruments can the dude play? So incredibly talented.
'Scoff' is by far my fave track off Bleach. 'All Apologies' off In Utero. Yeah and I'd agree about Incesticide. That repetitive chorus in Sliver... aargh. Maybe Stain or Aneurysm are the ones I find OK from that album... but nothing I'd write home about there.

Posted by HOBBS
Hi Roman.I dont quite understand your last question. What exactly do you want us guys to find out? P1i,good choice man.Id take that over a K850i anyday.By the way guys, that Nokia Navigator is really popular with the woman folk.I know three woman who upgraded and they all chose the Navigator.
Posted by roman420
hey HOBBS, good day. what im saying is that im on a vodacom contract (family top up 135) and now for me to be able to get the p1 is on a mtm contract 100 total amount a month R129. if i now were to go for the mtm contract i loose my vodacom number. doesnt vodacom have the p1 on a family top up 135. you know what, i think ill just phone vodacom them and found out and see what they say. have a good day a remember its friday 2morrow
Posted by HOBBS
@ Roman - Good idea.Phoning them direct is always the wisest thing to do.lol You dont have to lose your Vodacom number when you move over to MTN.There is something called number portability where you can change service providers and take your existing number with you.Read up on the Vodacom site about it.Its pretty easy to do.

Yes, I also saw two women at Vodashop when I went to buy the P1 also upgrade to the navigator.
@Roman
If you're out of contract with Vodacom you can just switch networks (port your number).

Thanx for that bro,
All
Got to use a HTC Touch Diamond today. My bud who had the S710 some months ago got it late last month. Its SOO SMALL and SO THIN i can't believe so much can be put in such a nice lil body, he even has his whole daily school timetable on it, i think using Excel, i didnt even know you got Excel on phones lol, such a shame he got it though, he's had 4 phones this year: SE W910 in that Bronze colour, HTC S710, LG Viewty and now Touch Diamond, like one careless idiot he's managed to break the 3 of them, i give it another 2months and that poor Touch Diamond will be broken, its already got scratches on it.

do you think that the p1 will be able load mirc, irc chat client soft ware on it and run smoothly?

Roman
Whats mirc? If its Java it should work.

Contrary to alleged rumour, i've neither been abducted nor confined to the nuthouse, i've been working my fingers to the bone. Finally the world is now a safer place
@ Gola, no boet, i don't own a shotgun, but used an Ithaca (amongst others) extensively when i was involved with a local Defence Force shooting team.
@ Hobbs, my N73 has been nicked, dude, first time i've ever had a handset go walkabout. Put it down for a second whilst unlocking my front door and disarming the security system, not even 15 seconds later it's gone... usually it's in my pocket, but my i'd just had a call, hands were full, etc. Anyway, spilt milk... had it blacklisted, did the simswop thing, keeping my eyes peeled for an E61i now, or something with similar screen dimensions. Mobipocket rocks on those huge screens!! By the way, thanx for the PiZero linkup on Facebook, boet
Roman, welcome to the thread mate
@ Gucci, mIRC is Internet Relay Chat, initially it was Windows based (if memory serves) but these days there are a few clients available which will allow you to join a chat channel.

Krytik
Thanx boet.
Eish im sorry to hear that
Posted by Kryptik
Yep, i'm back on the 6680, although there's a spare N80 which i haven't gotten around to setting up yet. Fortunately i've saved all the s60v3 installation files on the PC, so i'll be setting up the N80 asap whilst shopping around.
Posted by GUCCI.011
Thats great then, its only problem is its battery life but otherwise a realy good phone.
Posted by HOBBS
Sorry to hear that Krypts.Get the E61i.Lovely phone. It was meant to be.Your guardian cellphone angel sent someone to steal it from you so you could get a E61i.Someone upstairs is looking out for you bud.lol Its a pleasure re-Pizero on Facebook.By the way are you and Brix friends on Facebook.Looks like the man is having a blast hey.
Posted by Falcon786
Sorry to hear that kryptic...but i dont understand where were you exactly and who was around?surely you could've seen or guessed who took it?anyway good excuse to buy another phone lol.
Gucci i had that phone for two weeks and it was awesome at first but i got bored by the end of the first week.it doesnt even come with navigation software installed which is a shame.but dam nice eye candy!i loved the weather menu and the whole 3d interface works stunningly smooth and crisp clear display is just too good!
Roman go for mtn you'll never regret and plus you can take your number with you so no need to change your number.ask the mtn store they'll do it in a day at most.voda is a rip of network and not very reliable.i dont hate them but i think they way way over priced with phones and even calls.
Posted by Kryptik
Falcon, i had a call on one phone as i was pulling into the garage at home, got out still on the phone, and kept talking whilst i was taking out my bags and books etc, locking up the garage, then did the unforgivable by leaving my phone and some books on the windowsill while i ran inside to turn off the alarm. Not a soul anywhere in the street, it's a loooooong walk up the driveway to my front door, which is all the more puzzling, because whoever took it had to be moving pretty damn fast, seeing that it was out of my sight for only a few seconds.
Posted by HOBBS
'Moving pretty fast',that definitely sound like the cellphone angel to me.They move faster than the speed of light.lol You just gotta laugh buddy.Everything happens for a reason.

Wangs you'll love this one

I agree Hobbs, and i'm not stressing over it. Could've been some dude stepping up and holding a pistol to my head instead of The Symbian Fairy paying an unscheduled visit
Posted by HOBBS
You got that right Kryps, but you got to be careful nowadays of these Symbian fairies, they are known to command you to "turn around, drop your briefs and face the wall before making you a fairy in the most unpleasant way" I think in such circumstances I'd rather have the gun put to my head.hahahahah
Posted by Kryptik
roflmao Hobbs, you've seen one too many Village People music videos
Until tonight i'd never realized there was a Handy Taskman for S60 v2! I'd been using it on the N73, took a shot and searched for a version for the 6680, and voila, found one
Posted by amawanqa
@ Kryptik:
Sorry to hear about the N73, boet.
May the fleas of a thousand camels infest the armpits of the culprit.
And may the Symbian Fairies indeed deliver an even better device.
@ Hobbster:
Will check out that link soon, boet.
