Thanks Wangs for finding me that infomation but are they just saying the E90 can handle up to 8gb's because when that was written 16gb cards hadnt become available yet.
Thats what Im hoping.Seen some screenshots on the net of the new Sandisk 16gb cards working fine on a N95 Classic and a E90 Communicator.I quess I need to do some more homework.
If you guys can find me links that can confirm this please post them.I need some solid reassurance before I get the E90 that it can take a 16GB card.

Posted by HOBBS
You see what I mean.It all gets a bit confusing.

http://symbianworld.wordpress[....]rosd-hc-card%C2%B4s-will-work/

Posted by HOBBS
E90 is SDHC compatible so Im hoping the E90 doesnt have limitations and max out at 8GB.Not much info out there.I want to read E90 users feedback who have actually stuck one of these in there phones and confirms it works and is stable.

Posted by HOBBS
Things are looking good so far but still there is conflict.

Theres someone confirming on Smbian-Freak

'Received my 16 GB MicroSd card today, and can confirm that it works without problems in my E90.'

Nice one

Thanks guys, seems like fifa 09 will require some hectic hardware. But apparently it will be available on the ps2 platform aswel.

WOAH! that 5800XM looks awesome! And those specs are realy good. . . . . .guess il be choosing another phone over a next gen console AGAIN its going to be 279euro, thats even less than N81 MicroSD at release which was 380euro.
Gola
Lol! Same here bro!
Hobbs
The 16GB MicroSD should work on E90, if it works in a N95. They are both the same phone in terms of hardware.

You're rolling in a Mini Cooper-S Convertible? You certainly got me jealous bro! If i was rich and was allowed to choose my 1st car it would be one of those pocket rockets, not the convertible though! Lol! those things feel like a giant overpowered go-kart!

I think you may be right with that one, boet. And the G-Man knows his specs alright.
I hope for your part that is the case; judging from the responses in those links it seems to concur.

I've got close friends visiting here for Christmas; let me know closer to the tme if you want me to organise a 16Gig SD-HC card from here, as I did for JC(although his was obviously an 8 gig).
Who knows, they might well be around the £39.99 (approx R600) mark over here come late December..
I'll keep you posted.

Nice wheels there, TI.

The Nokia 6600 Fold, with its electro-magnetic opening mechanism and 'hidden' outer display, is now on sale here, costing £189.99 (approx R2850).

Also I heard at the Vodashop today that quite a number of people have returned their Apple I-Phones with cracked screens only to be told that warranty doesnt cover that kind of damage.Ouch! Thats 7 grand down the toilet.People are obviously pressing their screens to hard.Does anyone one know if the I-phone has callibration settings?

Posted by GUCCI.011

Thats great news boet!
Ouch, well thats what happens when you buy in to the hype lol im sure it has callibration settings, shouldn't all touchscreens have it?

Pic taken with a friend's N82, we were at Broadacres going to watch the show La Vida when we spotted this baby. a Merc CLK 63AMG with DTM bodykit and seems like the owner also moddifide their license plates, when the xenon flash fired thats what happened to the plates of this specific car:

Notice the other car in the distance? you can read its plate clearly.
I thought doing this to your plates was illegal?

Posted by amawanqa
@ gola:
You're absolutely right; it's a ridiculous price for a 2mp non-smartphone. There's no ways it'll sell that much for that; if Carphone Warehouse get that phone in stock soon, it'll definitely be more reasonably priced.
For the same money one can buy a Nokia 6500 Slide and still have £30 (approx R450) change..

@ Gucci:
LOL, ya I have those kinda plates on my 2 bikes.
I paid nearly £30 each for them, but they do seem to work...
When I asked the number plate makers at the recent bike show here, they stipulated the exact 'grey areas' in the law here regarding them. Dunno where SA law stands with them...
In principle, it can't be legal, but if you or me (or a traffic cop) can't tell the difference between this plate and a normal one (without putting any camera flash to them), then how are they to know...

Whoa, those plates are just genius. I don't think they should be legal, I mean we might as well drive cars without number plates. So I guess this only works at night?

Posted by amawanqa
@ gola:
Any place where you need to use a flash (or flash from speed cameras here) and it'll do that to the pic.

Bro i agree! Amazing what people can come up with to avoid facing the law wont lie id do the same, especialy with a car like that one!
All
So i was bored tonight, had nothing to do until for the 50th time today i saw this advert for a mobile tv show called "Seduction101" which is actualy sponsored by Sony Ericsson . Its a show about varsity life in SA and has some interesting characters. At 1st when i saw the ads i was like WTF? Then today due to boredem and curiosity i went to the site: http://www.seduction101.co.za/wap/episodes.aspx and downloaded the episodes. Man ive never laughd so much its so stupid but interesting and EVERY episode ends in a cliffhanger so you keep wanting to check what happens next. Ive now watched all the episodes and waiting for the new one which will be up on Monday. Every episode in high quality is around 6-9mb and up to 5mins long. Its made for downloading and watchng on your phone, watched all episodes on my K850 and they played just fine. Realy great show, it looks like its shot in a Jhb University, Wits i think. Anyway if you want to check it out here are the episodes: http://www.seduction101.co.za/wap/episodes.aspx

Cropped cellphone pic:

Wiring up the new components of the home theatre stuff wasn't exactly all fun n' games... Once it was all finished and set up properly, it certainly made all the effort worthwhile:

Anywayz, finally got all the hi-fi n' home theatre bits to 'speak' to one another properly, including pre-setting the receiver with the distances of the speakers in relation to the couches etc.
Wouldn't like to set all this up day-in and day-out though.

@ Gucci n' gola:
Dunno how a normal flash will work on the number plate in daylight; I'll take a pic or two in daylight tomorrow of one of the number plates, with the P1i's flash on.. In direct sunlight and using no flash, you can take a pic and it'll be visible as normal.

Gucci, technically the masking coating over the plates is a no-no, but i'd do the very same thing, believe me. When you really think about it, traffic officers don't always play fair either. Many of them here do the Biblical thing as mentioned in the Old Testament, i.e. the evil spirit was concealed behind a bush... despite the regulations being clear about their levels of visibility, they conveniently hide behind the excuse of needing to be in the shade, etc. The same applies to the manner in which some drive. I've driven at the posted speed limit and had these guys zoom past as if i was looking for parking, lol

@ Gucci:
Yeah although Jeremy Clarkson gets a bit much with his anti-bikes retort at times.
Just got a PAC number from T-Mobile. While waiting on the phone, an automated message states that ''...due to the unprecedented demand for the new Nokia N96, we are currently out of stock and advise customers to check your local branches for any remaining stock, otherwise please call again later in the month...''

Later in the month...!
Sheesh, the Dark Side's S60 sector will no doubt have an even greater chunk of the overall market percentage in the Smartphone World, it seems...

Im am so confused at the moment.Im thinking of phoning the Vodashop I went to and cancelling this E90 contract that has been approved.I have 2 Business Call contracts already and now Im throwing in a Top Up 315 with a R179/month phone finance. What the F am I doing? Do you guys know how that first debit order works 24/48hrs after they activate your simcard? Mine comes to R1000.Forgot to ask what its was all for.lol R202 I know is for the activation cost of he new simcard.

Posted by amawanqa
Hobbster, I realise that I'm stating the obvious here, but for one person to pay 3 contracts plus a finance on the pay-in on top of that is surely going to unnecessarily erode into your monthly outgoings; have you thought about selling the N95-8GB if you're that assured of cellphone nirvana with the E90?
Putting that on Bid-Or-Buy or similar would of course help claw back some of those outgoings. How many months have you got left on the first one?

Hobbs is passionate, i'll say that much... nothing done by half-measures, lol

I came across an interesting site this evening, www.mybottomline.co.za They advertise on local radio that one can make international calls via a number which they provide, at local rates, etc. Spoke to my sister in Harpenden for about 20min, total cost of under R5.00. Not shabby at all

Posted by amawanqa
Wow, 20 minutes to Harpenden for R5 is peanuts.

BTW guys,
Remember remember
the 5th of November...

In exactly one month's time, our thread is 4 years old!
Eish, doesn't time go by quickly...

Hi everyone,

I'm reporting back again on the G900. Gucci, I got the phone in dark brown.

This is going to sound bad, but I hate the phone. And this after fighting so long with people just to get the stupid thing.

I think the main reason why I don't like the G900 is because I'm still inlove with my w810i. She's still working perfectly after 2 years. What I do like about the G900 is the internet capablities. It has a totally different look and feel to the w810i and its going to take a very long time to get used to it. I've used the phone for only 3 days, and now its resting in its box...

If I decide to get rid of the phone then you guys will be the first to know, if anyone's interested.

Posted by HOBBS
Ouch Medusa.Thats a very sad story indeed.Dont worry,Wangster will buy it from you lol He works for a Sony Ericsson charity organisation that buys SE's phones back from their users who are disatisfied.lol

E90 cometh on the 15th.Its done.hahahahahahahahahahaha
